With the Flyers lost today that puts us four points behind them with a game in hand. Still a longshot but definetly doable. Remember that the tiebreaker is wins total not what we did against them head to head.
Flyers schedule (39 wins)
at Montreal
Ottawa
at NY Islanders
Devils schedule (40 wins)
NY Islanders
NY Rangers
at Boston

No easy games for either team, really. Well, that Rangers game looks pretty good on paper. Boston is a tough matchup and the Isles are playing hard.
It's a possibility. But don't count on anything.

The fact that we have the tiebreaker gives me hope.

They have to beat the Islanders are this hoping thing is down the drain real fast, the Devils win and the pressure is on the Flyers and you gotta like those odds.

It's pretty amazing that after Rags-Flyers game ended and before Leafs-Sens or Habs-Bruins end the standings are:
1) TB 101
2) Phi 98
3) Bos 97
4) Tor 96
5) Ott 95
6) NJ 94
7) Mon 90
8) NYI 86

What's really amazing is that despite us being beaten up with injuries and playing sub par hockey that the only team to put any distance between us is Tampa Bay. Points wise we haven't had that bad of a season.

With a win on Tuesday by the Devils over the NYR, the Devils could be in the drivers seat for winning the division... They will be tied with the Flyers with 98 points but the Devils have 3 more wins which will seal the deal for the division... :handclap: Devils to get on a roll here and take the Atlantic Division...

It would be nice if we could take the division, just for the sake of taunting Philadelphia and the home advantage would be nice, but we're going to play a tough team in the first round regardless so I don't know how much it means outside of pride.

ANY team will be tough to play in the first round and in the playoffs. This is why it is called the playoffs... The Devils have an excellent chance to win the division now more than ever if they win over the NYR... The Devils will be in the drivers seat and control their own destiny come this weekend when they have the home and home vs. Boston... They will have 3 more wins than the Flyers come Thursday when the Flyers face Montreal which I think they will lose that game as well... The CHOKING has begun for the Flyers and all of their fans know it and are talking about it all over the Flyers boards...

I really think that NJ has a chance to catch up to the flyers. NJ is starting to heat (just in time too) and from the looks of things the flyers are starting to cool down! IF the do catch up watch out in the playoffs!
