Pepper 06-26-2009, 04:44 AM Start at 01.00 CET?
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 04:51 AM Start at 01.00 CET?
Yeah, think so. Canal+ will start broadcasting 01.00 CET. However, Swedish announcers on a draft? Hopefully those online streams are good.
Pepper 06-26-2009, 06:02 AM Yeah, think so. Canal+ will start broadcasting 01.00 CET. However, Swedish announcers on a draft? Hopefully those online streams are good.
I haven't allowed Canal+ to ruin my NHL experience for a long time now, online-streaming with original commentators is soooo much better.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:03 AM Nice job on the layout Elvstrand. I have the draft set to record in case I can't watch it but I will be checking out this thread. It makes it easy to read and digest, thanks.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 12:34 PM nice thread
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 12:40 PM I will be tracking the draft on SvenskaFans.com too. So I might be a little slow at times with the updates here.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 01:01 PM Judging by the past Ducks history of selecting guys a) rated later than I expect b) who I don't know much about and c) who I didn't like or dislike at the time...
I'm going to predict they pick either Jordan Caron or Ryan O'Reilly.
And lets see if this site is still up come draft time or not.
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 01:53 PM Hmm yeah, if server is too busy I might not be able to update.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 02:12 PM Well, they did close down a bunch of threads and shut off other features to help, but we'll see.
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 02:13 PM I woudn't be unhappy with Caron. I liked the little I saw of him.
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 02:25 PM Well... If I can't update here, I will still do it here:
http://www.svenskafans.com/nhl/artikel.asp?id=303242
Spelare = Player
SM = Games Played
Liga = League
The rest you'll understand... Although, there are sites in English that will track this too lol. But, if you see I update there but not here, it's simply because I have trouble getting onto HFboards.
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:06 PM Dreger said live on VS that Pronger is traded to the Flyers. We'll see.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:14 PM lol, Bettman's French.
As for the Pronger trade, I assume if it went through, he'll mention it before the Islanders make their pick, or at least before ours. Its a big enough transaction.
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:16 PM lol, Bettman's French.
As for the Pronger trade, I assume if it went through, he'll mention it before the Islanders make their pick.
Bettman's a pimp. Just chuckles at the boos and turns them into cheers. I hope he never retires.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 07:16 PM Bets on the Islanders pick?
I'll guess Tavares
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:18 PM Tavares. Says me.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 07:18 PM No word from Bettman on a Pronger trade...
Isles take Tavares.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:18 PM I actually don't dislike him, I found his reaction funny.
Isles select Tavares. I personally would have taken Hedman, but that's me.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 07:18 PM Islanders pick Tavares. I would have picked Hedman...
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:19 PM Ha, quick edit, Jim.
I hate that everyone wastes time thanking the host team.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:19 PM Tavares is first, the drama has ended: right pick for the Isles!
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:20 PM What was the point of all the secrecy again? Just to make the Islanders relevant in the hockey media for a while?
cmcdmania 06-26-2009, 07:21 PM Who's the little kid? Is this something that will be happening for every team?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:22 PM As expected, now Hedman is going second and Duchene third.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:24 PM Pronger to Philly for Lupul, Sbisa, and two 1st rounders.
Just WOW, amazing return for a one year rent! :yo:
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 07:24 PM Ha, quick edit, Jim.
I hate that everyone wastes time thanking the host team.
Changed just in time :sarcasm: That's the only one I'll guess all night mind
Trade time?
Sbisa = nice
Lupul = why?
2 1sts = pretty nice
Damn similar to the deal we made to get him
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:25 PM Lupul is back in Anaheim. Along with Luca Sbisa and draft picks for Pronger.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 07:27 PM No surprise there.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:29 PM Lupul = why?
Philly couldn't afford Pronger without dealing Lupul.
I think is contract is something like 4.25. Yeah, I'm not amazed by it but who cares, one good prospect and two first is a damn good way to rebuild the team.
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:32 PM Sigh. God I hate Lupul. His contract is better value than Penner's, but he's still overpaid. And he's Lupul.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:35 PM Is lupul the right answer to secondary scoring problems?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:36 PM We got also a conditional 3rd round pick. Overpayment? :D
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 07:37 PM I like this deal.
Sure,4,25 for Lupul is too much, but he is a 20-goal scorer and we needed such a player. He is still young and will be a good addition to our top 6 forward group.
Sbisa is a good prospect who should be able to crack our lineup for the next season. He could really benefit playing one year with Scottie.
With the picks,we will improve our prospect pool.Or perhaps deal the 21st for 2 picks this year.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 07:38 PM damn good way to rebuild the team.
Murray certainly has impressed me so far with the trades he's made
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 07:38 PM Is lupul the right answer to secondary scoring problems?
Probably not the answer, but it's an improvement methinks.
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 07:38 PM Who knows more about the guys at 21 available?
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:43 PM Probably not the answer, but it's an improvement methinks.
You can say that about Lupul at least. He's better than Christensen.
It's like we rented Pronger for three years and got our deposit back.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:43 PM Duchene at least sounds like he has a personality. Tavares couldn't sound anymore dull.
Spankatola Jamnuts 06-26-2009, 07:44 PM Duchene at least sounds like he has a personality. Tavares couldn't sound anymore dull.
Mushmouth, too. Duchene sounds like a smart kid.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 07:45 PM So now we have the 15th and the 21st pick. will be interesting to see what happens..
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:45 PM Mushmouth, too. Duchene sounds like a smart kid.
John "Shannon Sharpe" Tavares?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:45 PM Atlanta selects Evander Kane as expected.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 07:49 PM You can say that about Lupul at least. He's better than Christensen.
It's like we rented Pronger for three years and got our deposit back.
And a better defenseman in return.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:52 PM I have a feeling that the Kings are gonna screw it once again.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 07:55 PM C'mon Lombardi, you can sound a little more excited talking about Luc. He sounds like a 7th grader giving off his book report.
Kings take Schenn. Hmm
Fighter 06-26-2009, 07:57 PM After a loooooong tale they finally selected Schenn.
I hoped they would make a fool of themselves once again. Oh well...
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:05 PM That switch is an indication of what we could get for #15
16 + 77 for 26 + 37 + 62 + 92
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:17 PM BTW, in the Reg today Murray mentioned that there were 2 guys his staff had identified that they would move up for. Any guesses?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:19 PM A bit higher than expected, Dallas selects Scott Glennie. One of my favourites is out.
McDonald19 06-26-2009, 08:19 PM Hoping Kassian slips to 15th.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:20 PM Joe Nieuwendyk shows us how to announce a draft pick. Short and sweet.
And Bob McKenzie was wrong footed, that's a rarity
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 08:20 PM Kadri @7, Glennie @8, wow.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 08:20 PM Glennie looks like he's 12 years old.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:21 PM Some surprises with Glennie and Kadri going a little higher.
I kind of wanted Glennie and would have entertained a move up for him.
jax00 06-26-2009, 08:23 PM Ducks will have a chance to take one of:
Kassian
Schroeder
Kulikov
Cowen
MPS
Ellis
And a better defenseman in return.
Not to mention the big shiny thing we got as a bonus in '07.
Worth it.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:26 PM I'd shy away from Kassian: Ducks-type player but high bust potential.
To that list I'd add Moore also.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:28 PM Per James Mirtle. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/nhl-draft-day-blog/article1198318/
Tampa Bay are looking to move up and get another first rounder
Lawton: "We are trying to move up for another first round pick...offered our two second rounders or possibly next years first."
They have 32 and 52 IIRC, anyone interested? I don't think it's enough personally.
Although I'm intrigued about maybe taking a gamble on how they do next year
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 08:28 PM Sorry for the delay, had some problems on SvenskaFans.com... Should be able to update faster now.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:34 PM I wonder if the acquisition of Sbisa will change our plan for the selection in this draft. Hopefully not, but our prospect pool definitely need a good forward.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 08:34 PM I didn't know the kid from Bad Santa was an Oilers fan...
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 08:35 PM I'd trade both our firsts this year for Tampa's first next year. Taylor Hall anyone?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:35 PM MPS to Edmonton :(
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:37 PM I'd trade both our firsts this year for Tampa's first next year. Taylor Hall anyone?
It could easily end up that way, I'd be interested to see the asking price for that pick.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:41 PM I didn't know the kid from Bad Santa was an Oilers fan...
Ha.
Will Edmonton get an Anze Kopitar-like value with their dropping player? Or will they get a Rob Schremp/Lauri Tukonen?
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 08:42 PM I'd shy away from Kassian too, he's not going to be as good as people think..
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 08:45 PM Little bit more luck and we could get Kulikov
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:45 PM Nashville took Ellis: good, I didn't want him, he's like Bettman' size :help:
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:46 PM I kind of wanted Ellis even with the size issues
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:48 PM If you want D, Moore > Ellis IMO.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:49 PM The good thing about Ellis was that he wasn't supposed to be soft despite his size.
I'm neither high nor low on him.
Our pick is coming up soon.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:49 PM Kessel to the leafs for kaberle!
ha, i missed the bit that said rumour
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 08:52 PM Hopefully we get Moore or Schroeder.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:53 PM Minnesota can't even get a 2nd round pick for 12? And 77 isn't a particularly high 3rd either...
edit: de Haan. Wow. I liked him, but not #12 overall liked.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 08:54 PM Wow, DeHaan gone early.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 08:54 PM Wow don't know why Islanders felt they had to move up for de Haan
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 08:54 PM Calvin de Haan? This is an insane draft so far.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 08:54 PM Calvin De Haan taken by the Islanders. I was hoping we'd get him with the Flyers pick too. ****.
I kinda hope we get Kulikov or Leblanc. I'd be happy with either pick.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 08:54 PM Traded up to go off the board a bit, seems a bit random
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 08:56 PM Yeah it is weird that they traded up for de Haan. I love him, but he's underdeveloped physically. So there is a lot of risk there.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 08:56 PM Wow don't know why Islanders felt they had to move up for de Haan
Perhaps they got wind that a team picking before the 16th pick has plans on getting him? I know the Sharks did that with Setoguchi.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 08:57 PM De Haan reminds me of Gardiner. Off the board offensive d-man with a ton of upside.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 08:58 PM Wang and mini-me strike again: Isles trade up and pick Calvin de Haan. LOL
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a291/Sputniktechno/Shipmentoffail.jpg
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 09:02 PM Wang and mini-me strike again: Isles trade up and pick Calvin de Haan. LOL
Twice.
Hoping for John Moore and Peter Holland at this point.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:03 PM Hopefully we get Moore or Schroeder.
Amen to that.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:04 PM Kassian out: YAYYY!
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:04 PM Sabres take Kassian :)
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:05 PM I'm hoping for Schroeder and Kreider/RoundLeaf (hehe). Although Kulikov is dropping.
Buffalo is overcompensating with Kassian and Myers last year.
Schroeder still available :)
Elvstrand 06-26-2009, 09:07 PM The Ducks can get one of Leblanc, Moore, Kulikov and Josefson now. No need to trade down, great position to be in :)
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:09 PM Schroeder and Moore are still available... I'm happy with either.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:09 PM Kulikov to Florida, great pick for them.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 09:09 PM Predictions for #15?
I have no idea so I'll say Schroeder
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:09 PM Damn, Kulikov is taken. Ah well, Schroeder, Moore, or Leblanc would be good picks.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:10 PM Darn, I wanted Kulikov
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:10 PM We have the chance to take a great kid this year. Don't screw it, please!!!
Finnpin 06-26-2009, 09:10 PM Kulikov to Florida, great pick for them.Yep I wanted Ducks to pick him!
Moore?
jax00 06-26-2009, 09:10 PM Murray better ****ing take Schroeder.
We don't need any more ****ing two way players. We need a legit offensive prospect.
kenabnrmal 06-26-2009, 09:10 PM Take the shrimp. Throw him with Selanne. Calder!
One can dream.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:11 PM I have a feeling we're gonna pick Moore.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 09:11 PM Excited!!! Moore or Shroeder!!
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:12 PM Hopefully they don't take another logan macmillan type player. Please take Schroeder.
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 09:13 PM Hopefully it's Schroeder
Finnpin 06-26-2009, 09:14 PM Excited!!! Moore or Shroeder!!Schroeder we got Sbisa! :D
caliamad 06-26-2009, 09:14 PM Really bummed both Kassian and Kulikov are gone.
I just hope they don't go after another 1 dimensional player.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:15 PM Take Schroeder! Just do it!
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:15 PM Ducks are up..
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:16 PM Yeah, I'll take Schroeder.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM The **** is that ****?
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM who knows anything about him?
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM ****
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM WTF :shakehead
Finnpin 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM Peter Holland :amazed: Didnīt he have a character!?
object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/YjUQD-TbmcQ&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/YjUQD-TbmcQ&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object
jax00 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM Are you ****ing kidding me?
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:17 PM Bah. Holland was a do not want. Although some have said he's like Getzlaf in that he has a lot of tools and wasn't applying himself at the time.
I would have preferred Ashton to Holland if they wanted to go big.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:18 PM This guys attitude and work ethic have seriously been questioned but he has alot of talent.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 09:18 PM Twice.
Hoping for John Moore and Peter Holland at this point.
Well, i kinda thought we'd nab him @ 21.. i like him but it's a bit of a reach.
cmcdmania 06-26-2009, 09:18 PM Any chance we can take Schroeder or Moore at 21?
jax00 06-26-2009, 09:18 PM Ducks finally have a chance to add a high level offensive prospect and they **** it up.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:18 PM Okay we screwed it. Where's the shipment of fail pic now?
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:19 PM It could have been worse, they could have picked someone like Carter Ashton. **** I really wanted Schroeder.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:19 PM Any chance we can take Schroeder or Moore at 21?
In a word: NO.
kenabnrmal 06-26-2009, 09:19 PM Sounds a lot like what they were saying about Getzlaf.
I'd rather Schroeder. I do like them going after someone with "huge offensive upside".
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:19 PM Any chance we can take Schroeder or Moore at 21?
If they wanted either of those two they'd have taken them with 15 and Holland probably would still be around at 21.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:20 PM Watch Minnesota pick Schroeder now.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:20 PM I kind of get the feeling we could have got Holland at 21.
Holland seems like a project high risk-high reward type. Although that's kind of like how Gardiner was so maybe it makes sense MO wise.
Didn't Murray say they needed more speed sometime last season? Holland isn't particularly fast, is he?
kenabnrmal 06-26-2009, 09:21 PM Ducks finally have a chance to add a high level offensive prospect and they **** it up.
Actually, that's exactly what they took. Just not the one you wanted.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:21 PM Bah. We could have nabbed him with the second pick. Not entirely happy with this pick.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:21 PM I kind of get the feeling we could have got Holland at 21.
Holland seems like a project high risk-high reward type. Although that's kind of like how Gardiner was so maybe it makes sense MO wise.
That's not exactly a good MO to have. It's fine to spring for the boom-or-bust type player every once in a while, but to do it on a regular basis is a bit foolish.
At least we drafted a center with offensive talent. That's big.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:23 PM Why is Schroeder falling?? It would be awesome if he was available at 21.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:24 PM Okay we screwed it. Where's the shipment of fail pic now?
http://inquisitr.com/extra/wp-content/2008/12/shipment-of-fail.jpg
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:24 PM Why is Schroeder falling?? It would be awesome if he was available at 21.
Deschamps V.2?
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:24 PM That's not exactly a good MO to have. It's fine to spring for the boom-or-bust type player every once in a while, but to do it on a regular basis is a bit foolish.
At least we drafted a center with offensive talent. That's big.
It may not, but it is what the Ducks have done semi-frequently with Ryan, Gardiner, and Holland. Although Mitera and MacMillan were safer types.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:25 PM I kind of get the feeling we could have got Holland at 21.
Holland seems like a project high risk-high reward type. Although that's kind of like how Gardiner was so maybe it makes sense MO wise.
Didn't Murray say they needed more speed sometime last season? Holland isn't particularly fast, is he?
According to this http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=281920 and from what I've seen he's definately not slow. He's no Andy McDonald though.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:27 PM According to this http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=281920 and from what I've seen he's definately not slow. He's no Andy McDonald though.
Hmm that's interesting. I was under the impression he was more of a Getzlaf-type in terms of skating. I guess that sounds a little better then.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:28 PM Roundblade is gone. Sigh. Well Schroeder's still there, but it's doubtful he lasts to 21.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:28 PM Runblad! No!
Well, hopefully Schroeder manages to stay available at 21 (or one of Leblanc, Despres, Moore...)
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:28 PM He's no Andy McDonald though.
That's Schroeder probably.
Anyway I don't dislike what I've read about Holland, but I don't really know much about him.
MacMillan was far from a safe pick and usually you don't pick third liners that high.
Rundblad to St.Louis! After all we're gonna get someone good at 21# :)
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:30 PM Kreider is still available too. That's good
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:30 PM Habs will take Leblanc.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:31 PM Hopefully Schroeder and or Moore is available and the Ducks actually pick one of them instead of going off the board. Holland is intruiging though.
caliamad 06-26-2009, 09:31 PM Kind of a reach, but he seems like one of the bigger forwards out there after Kassian. Murray seems to do pretty well going after forwards so I'm not too worried.
I imagine they are targeting forwards more than D since they have Sbisa, Gardiner, Mitera, Salcido, Festerling, Mikkelson in the system now. Plus Wiz and Whitney are very young.
ericnut 06-26-2009, 09:32 PM Amazing pick!
Finnpin 06-26-2009, 09:33 PM Holland looks like a Ducks type of player! and still 21st to go! :handclap:
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:33 PM I must say that Holland looks nasty.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:35 PM God dammit. I wanted the Ducks to take him :(
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:35 PM Who saw that coming?
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:35 PM Can Leblanc even fit on the stage with all those other suits already there?
Shouldn't they hate him for ditching the Q for college hockey? Or are they hoping he ditches Harvard? Seriously, Harvard?
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:36 PM Obvious pick for Montreal.
I didn't want Leblanc, good.
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 09:36 PM Although I would have prefered Schroeder at 15,Holland doesn't sound that bad.He has a lot of tools, but has to learn to do the dirty work.If he can fix that,he should be a good center in the future.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:38 PM Although I would have prefered Schroeder at 15,Holland doesn't sound that bad.He has a lot of tools, but has to learn to do the dirty work.If he can fix that,he should be a good center in the future.
I don't like that kind of prospect though. I don't think you can often change the playing style of a player. It's like painting a tiger's stripes on a kitten. How often does it work? If anything, players tend to get more timid once they end up in the NHL with bigger guys.
But if they can do it, then Holland has some some big potential.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:39 PM Not I have a bad feeling like Anaheim is gonna pick someone like Ashton or Josefson... or even worse. :help:
Giguere27 06-26-2009, 09:43 PM But I like that the reports say about Holland, that the potential is there and he can be a good NHLer.
For the 21st,it should be anoye of
Schroeder
Moore
Josefon
Despres
Ashton
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:44 PM Schroeder
Moore
Josefon
Despres
Ashton
We will pick someone else I fear.
Kreider to the Rangers :(
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:44 PM Rags take Kreider.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:45 PM Not I have a bad feeling like Anaheim is gonna pick someone like Ashton or Josefson... or even worse. :help:
It wouldn't surprise me, Ashton looks like he could be pretty good but I'd prefer Schroeder.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:45 PM Kreider. The one I wanted at 21. But Schroeder's still there.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:45 PM Please be Schroeder or Moore.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:46 PM I repeat myself: first Moore, then Schroeder.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:47 PM Did Rangers pick 19 or 20??
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:47 PM Did Rangers pick 19 or 20??
19th
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:50 PM We're gonna go of the board again. Drew Shore or someone in that range.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:52 PM NJ just traded up. Schroeder for Parise v2?
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:52 PM Devils trade up to 20. Probably to take someone I want.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 06-26-2009, 09:54 PM In a word: NO.
Good call.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:54 PM Schroeder is avaiable......
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:54 PM Josefson to the Devils.
jax00 06-26-2009, 09:54 PM Murray.
Take Schroeder.
Please.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:55 PM Yeah josefson out.
Please please please, make it be MOORE!!!
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 09:55 PM Now, Bob, make me 2 for 2 and take John Moore.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:55 PM Josefson picked. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease take Schroeder, Murray. Please
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:55 PM I want Moore.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:55 PM Good call.
Did you want me to jinx? :D
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:56 PM I want Scroeder or Moore.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 09:56 PM I have no preference which but Schroeder or Moore please
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:57 PM Not Despres.
Trade?
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 09:57 PM We traded it?
Guess we didn't want Moore or Schroeder...
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:57 PM Trade.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 09:58 PM We traded down again.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 09:58 PM Traded to Columbus, now we pick later in the draft.
There must be something about Schroeder or Moore that we don't know about. Poor interviews? Potential headache down the road? Kind of reminds me of the Patrick O'Sullivan deal back in 2003.
crabtooch88 06-26-2009, 09:58 PM love it!
Fighter 06-26-2009, 09:58 PM Good. This means we don't like neither Moore nor Schroeder.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 09:58 PM LOL.
OK so now we're going to blow the 1st, but get a good guy with the 2nd. Like MacMillan and Tangradi.
Although with the way the rest of the guys are "bunched, even and inconsistently ranked," then it might make sense. But Schroeder's still there...
edit: Moore taken now. I kind of liked Moore, but we have a semi-equivalent in Gardiner. I would have liked Moore more than Gardiner, but there's still semi-overlap there.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 09:59 PM I might have liked that if it wasn't 3am. 5 more picks = another hour awake
crabtooch88 06-26-2009, 09:59 PM do the math...look at what we got? This is HUGE! What a great trade....value chart, do the math boys.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 09:59 PM 26 and 37. It's a good trade, we can still get Schroeder and Moore ;)
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:00 PM Obviously Murray doesn't like Schroeder very much he would have picked him now if he did.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:00 PM 26 and 37. It's a good trade, we can still get Schroeder and Moore ;)
No we can't.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:00 PM Bye bye Moore.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 06-26-2009, 10:00 PM Kind of sucks to trade away that pick when Schroeder and Moore are still available, but nice deal. Move down 5 spots for an early second rounder? I'd hit that.
And there goes Moore.
jax00 06-26-2009, 10:00 PM What the ****.
Finnpin 06-26-2009, 10:01 PM I might have liked that if it wasn't 3am. 5 more picks = another hour awakeItīs 5 am here :D
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:01 PM do the math...look at what we got? This is HUGE! What a great trade....value chart, do the math boys.
A mid second rounder to move down 5 spots. It's decent.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:01 PM Well, Moore certainly has some pretty sisters :naughty:
ericnut 06-26-2009, 10:02 PM Amazing trade! Murph is on a roll.
crabtooch88 06-26-2009, 10:02 PM 5 spots for an extra second?
IMO, a move down only five would probably worth a 3rd or 4th.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 10:02 PM Itīs 5 am here :D
neither of us win. this must be the slowest the draft has ever been
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:03 PM Apparently Schroeder is a fan of Avery, maybe he has an Avery like personality??
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:04 PM 4AM here, this draft is taking forever :help:
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:05 PM 5 spots for an extra second?
IMO, a move down only five would probably worth a 3rd or 4th.
See 2007. 16 = 19 + 42. Or 21 = 30 + 36.
It's roughly market value.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 10:06 PM See 2007. 16 = 19 + 42.
Last year, 12 = 17 + 28.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:08 PM Last year, 12 = 17 + 28.
12 is a lot higher than 16 or 21 though. Moving up x costs more the higher the pick is.
But yeah, the scale all seems pretty similar.
Jimgrayson 06-26-2009, 10:08 PM 5 spots for an extra second?
IMO, a move down only five would probably worth a 3rd or 4th.
Yer, Didn't Calgary just get a third to move down 4?
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:08 PM Vancouver gets Schroeder.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:09 PM And there goes Schroeder, to Vancouver.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:09 PM Two steals in a row.
I told ya we have our eyes on someone else.
jax00 06-26-2009, 10:09 PM **** me.
Peter ****ing Holland over Schroeder.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:10 PM Great. Now we get to hear about Schroeder and Hodgson and how Vancouver are the favorites in 2011 or something.
Oh well, Anaheim obviously didn't like Schroeder. I hope they're right. I don't like it as of now though.
caliamad 06-26-2009, 10:11 PM I guess Schroeder did terrible in interviews... and he's 5-8.
Based on the trade though, I'm suprised we didn't trade down and get Holland later, Murary must have really liked him.
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:11 PM Wait a second. Schroeder isn't American. He says "organ-EYE-zation."
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:13 PM Now, who to pick? Despres?
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:14 PM Are we going to keep these next two picks or dump them for a player?
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:15 PM Now, who to pick? Despres?
Do not want.
I'm interested in Ashton, Ferraro, Palmieri. Maybe Morin. Too bad Erixon is gone.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:18 PM Do not want.
I'm interested in Ashton, Ferraro, Palmieri. Maybe Morin. Too bad Erixon is gone.
I think he would be a perfect fit
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 10:18 PM Hopefully Rajala is available @37. The knock on him has been size but he's 5-10 now so he's not that small anymore.
26 i'd go Landon Ferraro or Carter Ashton.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:18 PM Sutter sounds a bit drunk.
I'd be happy with Ferraro, I've liked what I've read about him.
bumperkisser 06-26-2009, 10:20 PM So i was watching this draft much like you guys..
and much like you guys.. WHO THE **** IS HOLLAND
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:20 PM Hopefully Rajala is available @37. The knock on him has been size but he's 5-10 now so he's not that small anymore.
26 i'd go Landon Ferraro or Carter Ashton.
I wouldn't mind Rajala at 37. The kid oozes skill.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:20 PM Ferraro anyone?
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:21 PM I like Ferraro and Ashton.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:22 PM Ferraro anyone?
Fingers crossed?
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:22 PM McPhee doesn't change time when he travels to Europe? WTF?
Selanne08* 06-26-2009, 10:24 PM i just got in from a birthday.
dad texted pronger got traded..
looks like a great trade for anaheim!
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:26 PM I don't know if this has been asked, but who was the guy who announced our selection for Holland?
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:28 PM Are there any decent goalies in this draft? I haven't heard about any.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:28 PM i just got in from a birthday.
dad texted pronger got traded..
looks like a great trade for anaheim!
I for one am neutral on the trade as of right now, we'll see during the season if I warm up to it or not.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:28 PM I don't know if this has been asked, but who was the guy who announced our selection for Holland?
I wondered that too.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:29 PM Are there any decent goalies in this draft? I haven't heard about any.
I've heard its not a good year for goalies. I just know of Olivier Roy, who is probably a 2nd rounder.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:30 PM Let's hear another off the board pick.
Selanne08* 06-26-2009, 10:30 PM I for one am neutral on the trade as of right now, we'll see during the season if I warm up to it or not.
Sbisa is good. And picks. Lupul should help on the 2nd line hopefully.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:30 PM I've heard its not a good year for goalies. I just know of Olivier Roy, who is probably a 2nd rounder.
Not that I want us to draft one, just wondering.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:32 PM Sbisa is good. And picks. Lupul should help on the 2nd line hopefully.
I know but we're right side heavy and no lefts
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:32 PM Aren't we like the 8th owner of this pick?
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM Palmieri. Interesting pick.
Talentless Practise 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM Palmieri. I don't know anything about him.
Of note is the playoff goalscoring explosion.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM I like Palmieri, he's a pretty safe pick with offensive upside.
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM I'm happy with Palmieri.
Benny Lava 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM Meh on Palmieri. Would've rather had Ferraro.
Apparently he's a pimp though. That's always good.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:34 PM Palmieri
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:35 PM Was Palmieri the one that Gare Joyce said had his stock dropping at the combine?
I think I would have preferred Ferraro, but I like him too.
edit: found it http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/juniors/2009/06/03/joyce_notebook/
Kids who had some explaining to do included, well, almost any kid from the US under-18 program but most certainly Palmieri and Morin. The way it was told to me, though, the scouts had more problems with the management of the development team than the kids themselves ... Those who might have talked themselves into disrepute: Guelph's Holland and UMinn's Schroeder. Scouts I talked to weren't much impressed.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:36 PM Meh on Palmieri. Would've rather had Ferraro.
Apparently he's a pimp though. That's always good.
Me too, maybe he'll still be there later
Selanne08* 06-26-2009, 10:37 PM Palmeri? Really? Interesting though
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:39 PM Was Palmieri the one that Gare Joyce said had his stock dropping at the combine?
I think I would have preferred Ferraro, but I like him too.
No, apparently he is ripped and dominated all the strength tests at the combine.
Twindad 06-26-2009, 10:39 PM Have a good night guys, have to put the baby to bed, etc..
snarktacular 06-26-2009, 10:40 PM No, apparently he is ripped and dominated all the strength tests at the combine.
Yeah I knew his physical was good. I was talking about the interviews. See my edit.
Also an interesting little bit on the interview results of our pick and who we all wanted with our pick at 15.
BraveSirRobin 06-26-2009, 10:41 PM Apparently he's a pimp though. That's always good.
With the return of Lupul and now Palmieri, I wonder how they'll safeguard the Power Players? :sarcasm:
Fighter 06-26-2009, 10:42 PM Palmieri and Lupul are gonna have fun with the power players I guess. Where's McDonald now? :D
MKWing26 06-26-2009, 10:42 PM Palmieri is a good kid and a great player. I really like his upside and as mentioned before, a pretty safe player to pan out. I saw him extensively at St. Peter's in New Jersey and loved what I saw. Congrats, you guys got another fine player.
Paul4587 06-26-2009, 10:42 PM Yeah I knew his physical was good. I was talking about the interviews. See my edit.
Apparently he got kicked off his team for not telling management about him or someone else having girls in his room. If that's the case I don't see that as a big deal, I'd do the same in his position.
