Vince Carter is heading home, to central Florida - and he's bringing Ryan Anderson with him.

The Nets have agreed in principle to trade their most dynamic player and top gate attraction to the Orlando Magic in exchange for three players, which will effectively help them clear roughly $18 million off their 2010-11 salary cap.

Coming to New Jersey are point guard Rafer Alston, power forward Tony Battie, and rookie shooting guard Courtney Lee.

Nice deal for the Nets, all three are servicable players.

not a bad trade for the Nets, since Carter was probably gone after next year anyways. Alston is a cancer but Lee is a very good player

So. The Nets have 5 point guards now. Obviously this move is for next summer, where half the league is fantasizing that they could acquire Lebron or Wade.

Just get rid of half the teams for next year if they are going to mail it in. Just have a league for LAK, Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, Denver, Orlando, Boston, and Cleveland. Nice 8 team league.

I like it when they win, and I go to a bunch of their games, but nah. Really if it weren't for the Spurs and Duncan and Manu, I wouldn't be into the NBA tht much. And plus, they made the NHL lockout season less painful when they won the NBA championship.

We already had enough cap room for 2010. This was a horriable trade for the Nets. Im not to mad about "giving away" Carter but to add Ryan Anderson to the trade hurts. This is not Thorn's fault though. Ratner is cutting costs left and right. We already had to cut the entire staff by 1/3 not to mention make our coaching staff that half their pay. He really isn't concerned with the product he places on the court till they reach Brooklyn, this has been apparent since he took over the team. With the window on Brookyln closing soon (they must break ground by December 31st or it will probally not happen due to a number of things) he figures why should he pay more for the Nets payroll during their lame duck seasons. He might not be as bad as some owners in the league but he is one of the worst.

But as for the draft the Spurs got a nice steal with Blair.
