VIEW THE FULL VERSION : News Article Good read on NJ Hockey & Kyle Palmieri.... Brooklyndevil 06-25-2009, 05:02 PM Will he be our pick? Well, Conte seems to like him. http://www.northjersey.com/sports/moresports/49056181.html kyle evs48 06-25-2009, 05:03 PM It would be heartwarming and all, but I just think there will be better candidates at 23rd. Xander Crews 06-25-2009, 05:05 PM I wouldnt look to much into what Conte said... i mean he was asked about a prospect in the draft, he would have to be a HUGE jerk to not be positive. I mean anything he says could effect where he goes. Harrison Ford 06-25-2009, 05:05 PM Palmieri admits that he "grew up a Rangers' fan, but living in New Jersey I watched the Devils a lot, too, and when it comes down to saying where I want to play, it really wouldn't matter to me." Well at least he is open minded. yakitate304 06-25-2009, 05:06 PM Well at least he is open minded. I'm not. No Ranger fans on the Devils, thanks. Don't need our first rounder bolting across the river after his entry contract expires. kyle evs48 06-25-2009, 05:07 PM Well at least he is open minded. His agent told him to say that. Devils9789 06-25-2009, 05:20 PM I don't know what it is about Palmieri, he's just not an appealing pick to me. Harrison Ford 06-25-2009, 05:22 PM I think Palmieri's highest ceiling is a Chris Drury clone. Both similar in size, leadership qualities, etc. yakitate304 06-25-2009, 05:34 PM I think Palmieri's highest ceiling is a Chris Drury clone. Both similar in size, leadership qualities, etc. NHL Central Scouting's Jack Barzee: "I think Kyle's got a little bit of Chris Drury in him. I look at his passion, his natural skills and his tenaciousness, and that's what I saw in Chris. He's a lot of fun to watch because he has that vision along with a wicked shot. He very seldom passes up the opportunity to make the right play -- he's in position to shoot the puck and has that insight into whether to freeze and dish or just let it go." http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?fid=11894 Darius Dangleaitis 06-25-2009, 08:16 PM JVR grew up a Ranger fan as well, but when he was drafted he said that all went out the window. It really doesn't matter. Muttley 06-25-2009, 10:15 PM His agent told him to say that. Hey Kyle, is this thread about you? Darius Dangleaitis 06-25-2009, 10:28 PM I think Palmieri's highest ceiling is a Chris Drury clone. Both similar in size, leadership qualities, etc. Dynamic offensive skills, good two-way abilities, good leadership qualities, decently physical. Mike Richards. kyle evs48 06-25-2009, 10:53 PM Hey Kyle, is this thread about you? how'd you know? :sarcasm: Muttley 06-25-2009, 11:00 PM how'd you know? :sarcasm: You see Kyle, this is why we want to adopt you before you turn 18. My Devils-loving/NYR loathing 6 & 4 year old daughters would be more than happy to trade their 9 year old, lukewarm hockey fan older brother for you. You can have the illegal studio apartment that I just built out back. Private entrance/Kitchen nook, wetbar, high speed internet access and you can turn it into Bourbon Street if you want. kyle evs48 06-25-2009, 11:02 PM You see Kyle, this is why we want to adopt you before you turn 18. Where do I sign? Das Uber 06-25-2009, 11:04 PM I'm not. No Ranger fans on the Devils, thanks. Don't need our first rounder bolting across the river after his entry contract expires. Well if he bolts across the river after his ELC expires, we'll get compensated for it. Passing on Palmieri just because he's a Rags fan would be a silly. Muttley 06-25-2009, 11:07 PM Where do I sign? No dice. We'd be all out on the street after my wife chases me out with a frying pan and rolling pin. Myles & Muffin too. Michael Scott_* 06-25-2009, 11:09 PM It would absolutely kill me to see the Devils draft him. Muttley 06-25-2009, 11:10 PM It would absolutely kill me to see the Devils draft him. Which one? Myles or Muffin? kyle evs48 06-25-2009, 11:16 PM It would absolutely kill me to see the Devils draft him. Why's that? Darius Dangleaitis 06-25-2009, 11:19 PM Um ya hai gaiz look ima rangerz fan sooo...dun draft meh plz Muttley 06-25-2009, 11:24 PM Um ya hai gaiz look ima rangerz fan sooo...dun draft meh plz I think he meant it as a compliment to Palmieri, in which he would rather see him go to the NYR, or any other team not named the NJD. Feed Me A Stray Cat 06-25-2009, 11:42 PM He's not related to Nick, right? Das Uber 06-26-2009, 12:14 AM He's not related to Nick, right? Nope. Feed Me A Stray Cat 06-26-2009, 12:39 AM Nope. I'm not sure whether Palmieri is a very common last name, at least in North America. It might be in Italy. That would be pretty crazy to have to two unrelated Palmieri's on the same line. I like what I've read about him, although I'm a little skeptical about players coming out of the US Development Program. It's annoying reading these scouting reports though because they all sound the same. Harrison Ford 06-26-2009, 01:30 AM Dynamic offensive skills, good two-way abilities, good leadership qualities, decently physical. Mike Richards. hmmm...I say Brayden Schenn fits that description better than Palmieri, but that is just me. devs4L 06-26-2009, 04:09 AM If we draft Palmieri, I'd like to see them try to trade down and grab an extra 2nd. He may still be there around 27. If the first 3 rounds looked something like this, I'd be more than happy.... To CAR: 23rd overall To NJ: 27th, 51st overall 27th: Kyle Palmieri, C To DAL: 51st overall, 73rd overall To NJ: 38th overall 38th overall: Charles-Olivier Roussel, D 54th overall: Olivier Roy, G 84th overall: William Wrenn, D See? it's that easy....now make it happen Lou. Das Uber 06-26-2009, 09:58 AM I think Roy goes late 1st/early 2nd. Michael Scott_* 06-26-2009, 04:50 PM Why's that? Because I think he's gonna be a steal. | ||
