As some of you may know, the CHL (WHL, OHL and QMJHL) provides money for their former players to attend school after their junior career is over. Usually, this amounts to a year of CHL service = a year of schooling.

In the case of former Duck prospect Brett Morrison and his four years in the QMJHL, he's not getting any money from the league. Apparently, the two sides are disagreeing on his fulfillment of the academic criteria, with the QMJHL saying he didn't take enough courses and Morrison saying he was misinformed and misdirected by the teams he played for.

Here's an article on the situation: http://www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=262381&sc=146

Though this is a bit farther away from actual prospect coverage, it does shed light on what happens to some young players after they fall off our radar here.

Isn't it pretty cut and dry on what you have to do to get the benefits?

Or is it a bunch of hoops top jump through?
