Teemu Selanne's Status

I'm aware that he's signed on for the 2009-2010 season, but I've read/heard stuff that he'll decide his future for next season soon. Is there something I'm missing? Isn't he on the book for cap purposes regardless because of his age?

But I guess my real question is, are all Ducks fans assuming there's no decision and he's playing next season?

im pretty confident that he is coming back. he has talked about wanting to play in the olympics and he looked good this past year. nothing about him talking or playing would lead me to believe he is retiring

The ducks only have one line contributing offensively on a regular basis. Selanne was the only player other than getzlaf perry or ryan putting up good numbers. The ducks have him under contract for next season and at the moment word is he will play at least one more year. Which is good because losing him would just make even more work for Murray this off-season.

Murray let something slip he said the number one goal is to find someone to play with Teemu, so to me that sounds like he will play and i'm sure Teemu is already in Koivu's ear.

I´m 99% sure he is back and I hope Murray finds him a center (Sakuuuu...) that can feed him. Sorry Ebbett.

Trading away Pronger for a defensive prospect and 6th forward seems, e.g. a center to feed Teemu:handclap:
