SWEEEEEEEEEEEP! Tips roll over Chiefs! Question...

:rolly:

Tips will need the week off, as they are very banged up. Up next: Kamloops or Vancouver.

QUESTION:

I was under the impression that since the Tips won the US division, they were automatically second in the conference and would get home ice even if playing the Giants (who had one more point in the regular season). But on the radio last night I heard we would open on the road vs. Vancouver, or at home vs. Kamloops. Can you clue me in as to which is right?

Grazie mille!

Rockets rolled past Kooteay 4-0 aswell..... I am thinking it will be Rocks vs Ams and Tips vs G-men.

I'd much rather the Giants get passed along to the Silvertips.
Kelowna is a team I don't want to see for awhile.

The Rockets are tough, no doubt about it! When Kelly Guard gets to see 11-15 shots a game no wonder he has such a low GAA.

I am mostly wondering about home ice here, I know we will draw the Van/Kam winner and Kelowna gets the Tri/Por winner. Just not sure of the home ice sitch for the tips. I thought with the US div they were automatic home ice (until they meet Kelowna if they get that far), but with one less point than Vancouver, the guys on radio last night said we would open on the road if we faced them.

Anyone really know?

I am 90% sure that in the 2nd round the 4 teams from the conference get placed by regular season standings, so if Vancouver gets to the next round, they will host the 1st game vs everett.

Yup, that's right, the teams are re-ranked by points for the second round. No preference for the division winners.
