Soon? But that won't be until...later. Give them a newsflash: Hot hockey action in Florida, film on channel _________ (fill in the channel for your Devils game there).

Or not. FKB line is still in effect.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brodeur with a RARE giveaway with the puck, but Cullen thankfully hits the post!

OK, end of the first, Florida leads 2-1.

I think Juraj Kolnik(?) makes a pass that somehow beats 2 Devils d-men that reaches Lyle Odelien who slapshots that sucker right over a screened Martin Brodeur. Then it was 1-1.

Later, Brodeur makes an outstanding stop but couldn't get the rebound. Nederost was all up in the slot and was there to bang it home. 2-1 Panthers.

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGH.

How are Friesen and Langs doing?

How are Friesen and Langs doing?

Langenbrunner hasn't been quite the same player as he was prior to his injury. The effort and skating seems to be there, but he just doesn't seem to be clicking with anybody right now.

Friesen had a nice game against the Pens, but has been pretty quiet for awhile now. Hopefully he and Kozlov and develop some sort of chemistry from here on out.

1-1 according to ESPN.......on a goal by Odelein? Time to go home.........

DevilFisch

2-1. Nederost scored. As far as tonight goes, Friesen is skating with Kozlov and Brylin. He's skating, moving well. The line got a few chances, so he's doing OK. Langenbrunner is doing OK tonight with Madden, but not as well as Friesen tonight.

I'm just listenening but the 2nd period sounded a lot better than the first did.

How about Martin eh? Leading all players in ice time after two periods with 18:05 played. Burns is sure leaning on him with Rafalski out of the lineup, and he's responded fairly well.

Colin White gets tripped up, the last 10 seconds of the Florida PP is negated, and the Devils will have a 1:50 PP.

Brodeur screened in the slot, Odelien's shot gets through, and now the Devils are down 3-2 after a PP goal (Thanks a lot, Hrdina).

Ugh.

Wasn't Hrdina's fault. The Florida player (name escapes me) made an obvious fake fall.

Why do we always run into the hot goaltenders?

Does anyone else have the feeling that 400 wins will be an elusive milestone? Like Joe's 500th goal last year....but not that elusive.

Edit: Nevermind :handclap:

DevilFisch

Odelien. But Hrdina shouldn't be hooking a player IN THE OFFENSIVE ZONE. Errgh.

Stevenson! POKES IT THROUGH!!!!

3-3!

Speaking of mistakes, I think I just heard Colin White got penalized.

I'm scared that Odelien will get a hat trick.

Without a doubt, the biggest win of the season. Toronto and Ottawa both lost, so the Devils gained two points on them. This victory will be the springboard for the confidence during the stretch run. The Stevens news will also give them a lift facing TB tomorrow night (on f'in Metro). I could see them ripping off six points over these next three games (TB, Atlanta, and NYI), making things very interesting.

Indeed. Last night was the most important few hours of the season. First it is announced that Stevens was skating, something which I personally believe he has been doing for a while now and the Devils have been withholding information. Second, we clinch a playoff spot - don't underestimate it's mental importance. Thirdly, Brodeur hits 400 wins - now we're working on 500, and he needs a quick start. The next game with be a true judgement of this team's character, and therefore, ability to win a cup.

On that note, I've been really impressed by Kozlov. Not just by his strength and skill, but his character, willingness to work, and attitude. He's all about the playoffs. Lou picked up another Lou-type player here, guys. As if we ever doubted. :p

I like what I see in Kozlov but I don't think of him in terms of strength. He really plays a 75% finesse game and except for his reach plays like a crafty smaller guy. Great hands good quickness but rarely runs anybody over. I think he has the ability to score some big points for the Devs and he seems to be willing to accept his defensive responsibility. Nice subtle 2nd line pickup which I think will help us win some big games in the playoffs.
