Rematch of last night's Tie.

Will Scotty Nieds and the Devils get it done this time?

My pick - 3-2 Devils win. Freeze, Kozlov, Nieds with the goals.

I heard Brodeur got a shot to the ankle during warmups... they're not sure if he'll play. That would be a slap in the face to the devils if he can't play...

Would we characterize this game as a must-win? Is it the 2 most important points of the season? I'd say yes to the first and no to the second... But we really need these points tonight.

Gio offically back.

Stevenson back to 4th line...

Stevenson-Hrdina-Marshall, good line.

The only way Marty doesn't play after a "shot to the ankle" is if that shot came from a 9mm handgun.

Gio offically back.

And not a moment too soon... It will be interesting to see how that face-mask will affect his physical game...

Why is Hrdina sitting? I'm watching the french channel and despite 4 years of high school classes I don't quite understand everything...

I still can't get over the size of Kozlov. He's really really big.

Only thing I can think of as far as sitting Hrdina is that they might want a bigger checking line in
Stevenson-Rasmussen-Marshall.
Fun game to watch so far.

I'm watching on FOXSportsNet NY and there no mention of an injury.

That's a damn good question because I'll be pissed to find out we traded Mike Rupp and a 2nd round pick for a healthy scratch.

if you don't have anything more useful to contribute, it would be appreciated if you returned to your people on the Habs board.

this is a game day thread, no? he's just commenting to the fact that it was not the most entertaining game... i see nothing wrong with that

This game is not very entertaining I must say. Just very little intensity on both teams IMO. Also, just wanted to add that I think Paul Martin deserves to be a finalist for the Calder. He had been amazing out there tonight.

Marty injured, looks like neck, back or shoulder, couldn't tell. He's not coming out though. If we lose him you can kiss the 2nd round of the playoffs goodbye.

Edit: Awesome shot by Johnny Madden :yo:

Brown wanted to throw down with Souray, but Sheldon chose not to go. Good to see somebody wants to play some hockey out there tonight.

3-2 Canadiens win. Brylin scored late, but we already allowed a open netter. Tough pill to swallow tonight. We saw Brodeur look hurt, and Langs got hurt there near the end, but i think it was just a facial laceration. We need to get healthy, and fast, and it seems like its going the other way. I guess one of these years the injury bug had to nail us good. :(

I think you guys are a bit hyper-sensitive... i don't think he's implying that the Devils are a boring hockey team to watch (heck, yesterday's game was pretty fun), but rather that it was a boring game up to that point... anyways, the third period turned out to be pretty entertaining, so the game was salvaged

He played better than White and Brown did tonight.
I actually thought he played pretty well in his limited ice time.

I'll agree that people around here are a bit "hyper-sensitive". And I don't apologize for it at all. The only reason people react that way to posts like that is because they've been hearing it since they started posting here.

The entire HF community is welcome to post that the Devils are boring or throw "Zzzzzzz" comments around. There's just a new place to do it.

Terrible results from the weekend games. Needed four points and got one, even against the backup goalie.

Truly, is there anyone here that thinks we'll get out of the first round? We can't beat anybody that has a decent goalie and a few scorers. We kill the Pittsburghs, the Thrashers, and the Hurricanes, but for teams that are actually in the playoffs, we are horrible.

Oh, and the two guys that Montreal got at the deadline, Dowd and Kovalev, both scored. Our new guys, Hrdina and Kozlov, are lost. Hrdina was a scratch last night. Sickening. What a joke. They wanted him for "scoring." You know what, you want a center that can score, you don't get Jan Hrdina.

All true. I don't know why they traded Rupp and a 2nd for Hrdina. Horrible trade, one that i'm shocked Lou made. Rupp would have done well in the playoffs with Freeze and Langs. The 2nd hurts too, because Hrdina is a 3rd line center.

RDS reported on their pre game show that Hrdina was out because of an injury he got Friday.

Paul Martin is gonna be great. Wow, you guys have a good one in him.
