It's usually someone like Gio who will skate faster around them then someone like Holik who would just power through it. I think because people like Gio avoid the contact out of habit, it doesn't get called as interference...

I would rather have Greene with White or Mottau since they both play physical. Or maybe put Greene with Martin who is BY FAR the Devils best defenseman and then put Oduya with Havelid. I think Sutter gets too wrapped up in "not disturbing" defensive pairings, which is ironic considering he seems content using ping-pong balls to create offensive lines sometimes.

I agree. However, I just fear the defense will be our down fall from going deep.

I haven't seen anything yet that lends you to believe that. Martin made a bad play at the end of Game 4, but for the most part, I feel that the defense has been pretty sound - so far.

And lets be real here, Boston's defense is the only one that is head and shoulders above ours and the rest of the East's, and that's because of Chara. Our defense stacks up reasonably well with Pittsburgh and NYR, and I feel that it's much better than Philly's and Washington's. You gotta factor in a rested Brodeur too.

And of getting a big defenseman - they aren't a dime a dozen. We got Stevens and Niedermayer through almost sheer luck IMO (in Stevens' case totally). I honestly don't think we'll have the cap room to throw 7 million plus at Bouwmeester. That's why I think that Lou should draft nothing but defensemen in the first round for at least the next 3-4 seasons. Hey, we already have 2/3 of our first line set for the future, and a nice set of forward prospects that project out to be 2nd/3rd liners down the road.

If the Devils win, they head back to Carolina where they will lose dramatically once again, in OT or whatever, and return home for a Game 7. Any team can beat us at home and have done so quite easily. We still don't have a real home ice advantage, despite all the hoopla over this year's record home winning streak. Our home record is good, but it's hardly dominant. I would give us a 50/50 chance at most for us winning a Game 7 at home vs. this Carolina team.

If we lose tonight, it's all over Sunday in Carolina.

I'm expecting the worst, a sleepless Sunday night.

I just got this text from him a few minutes ago, "Definitely just came Damn close to forgettin the tickets if it didn't randomly cross my mind after I left". Text 2 is equi-funny, "I was around the corner from the train station, singing in my car, and it somehow popped in my head that I didn't have them". Not a good start. That would have been annoying if he did forget them. I mean, I'm sure between the 2 of us, we are good looking enough to get in anyway, but still.
