VIEW THE FULL VERSION : Line Combos Move Elias to top Line?
jc950003* 04-22-2009, 07:30 PM He is a game changer and could be a series changer. He has almost been a non factor this series.
Move him with Parise and Zajac (because Rolston cant keep up with them)?
It could jump start Elias as well.
Plus,. Gionta, Zubrus and Rolston isnt a bad second line.

Rolston can't keep up with them? Rolston has wheels and I don't see the point in shuffling the lines like that when Gionta-Zubrus-Elias have been alright so far. I believe Patty is still not 100%. Don't change anything.
Devils Mike 04-22-2009, 07:38 PM No, Gionta-Zubrus-Rolston would be a pretty bad second line, we need to keep Patty where he is. There is no reason to switch it up now.
Crimson Devil 04-22-2009, 08:10 PM Right now Rolston isn't producing, but he's firing his shot at the net, and it's such a blast that it gives off huge rebounds that Zach will eat up like dinner if he gets the chance. Zajac is also producing. It's only a matter of time before Rolston's shots go in.
Keep Elias on the second line.
devilzrule27 04-22-2009, 08:19 PM Rolston looks good with Zach and Trav and the Elias line has been putting up some points. They still need to do a bit more but they are doing well. No need to mess with anything. Besides Elias has had his chances he just hasn't finished. Thats not his linemates faults.
Devils Pride 26 04-22-2009, 08:34 PM If Langs can come back for Game 5, call me crazy, but I like this:
Parise Zajac Rolston
Gionta Elias Langs
Pando Madden Shanny
Zubrus Holik Clarkson
Zubrus has been bringing down Elias and Gionta all year long. Eh, now that I think of it, it might not be a good idea to have such a big shake up mid series.
åboriginal 04-22-2009, 09:21 PM id like to see what could be done with those 3 for a few shifts, if it doesnt work, they shouldnt force the issue.
Anssi is epic 04-22-2009, 09:45 PM I thought Rolston played a decent game 3, I'd wait until game 5, at home, and having some momentum how he performs again with travis and parise, also like someone pointed, Rolston-Zubrus-Gio would be worse than the second line actually is.
DevilishFan30 04-22-2009, 09:55 PM id rather put gionta with parise and zajac and move rolston with zub and elias.
Gio Zubes and Rollie would be a terrible line. They need Elias there and putting him with Zach and Trav would screw up the offensive depth.

Ummm Really? Holik over Rupp? You must be out of your mind because Rupper is 10X more effective than Bobby is and has played acceptionally well in this series.

Or Rolston could play with Elias. He should not play on the fourth line. THAT is for sure.
jkrdevil 04-22-2009, 10:04 PM No the offense for the most part has been fine. They have scored at least 3 goals in 3 of the 4 games. Usually when they score 3 goals they win. Sutter tried moving Elias to the Parise line in game 2 after Langs went down and it didn't work. Even a hurt Elias makes that line with Zubrus and Gionta go. It was bad with Rolston on it. Rolston fits in well with Parise and Zajac mainly because those two can carry the line.
