The problem is that this has become a common thing with Thornton. Have great regular seasons, then disappear in the postseason when the intensity picks up and you have to fight for every inch. When you punch him in the mouth he folds. Obviously one player can't carry a team to the cup, but when you're earning what he does, you're expected to elevate your game in the playoffs and be the go to guy. He has yet to do so, so you really can't call him great. He deserves all the criticism he's received. Same with Marleau. Both of them have been invisible, and that's putting it lightly. Sometimes they could care less, but in Boston for instance, I bought seats that were right behind the Devils bench and right next to the Devils stick rack on the runway. I could hear the players talking between shifts and see how they all taped their sticks etc.... The guy in Edmonton was really nice too and hooked me up with seats/passes that got me under the stadium where the Oilers walk out of the lockerroom. It never hurts to ask.
