to me it looked like a groin but hopefully it isn't to bad. hopefully the day off helps and he's ready for game 3. We need him.

i heard a few different poeple say groin, out for next game , possibly series, i hope it was not as bad, but if it was groin, he had that same injury last year....

Losing our captain for this series will hurt us for shure but having a healthy scratch with playoffs experience like Holik isn't all that bad. He's no Langenbrunner but if he can play "smart" hockey, he's a very solid 4th liner and maybe Rolston can get some of his mojo back on one of our top lines.

Hopefully Holik will come out flying (if he plays) just like Pando did after he got benched for awhile. I wouldn't doubt it.

The lines looked completely out of whack without Langenbrunner yesterday. This sucks.

Both those guys need to step up BIG TIME. Rolston has to be more of a threat if we want to make it past the 1st round and Zubrus was one of our best players last year in the playoffs.

I'm calling a "Marty miracle" for game #3... we'll see about game #4.

Obviously this is a pretty significant loss, but c'mon, this team is no worse than 03 and we managed to get by (through hard work and tenacity) without Joe Nieuwendyk who was equally as important to us.

The truth is, adversity is the exact reason this team achieved what it did this season, so as of right now this isn't the end of the world (or the series). We beat the best teams in the league with a very important missing piece. We have the talent and capability to continue to play at a high level and still have a chance at winning this series so long as we don't beat ourselves.

Now the trade-off for Holik/Langer is a tough pill to swallow but it is what it is. Regardless though, this is the proving grounds and if this team is for real and a true potential champion, they'll find a way to push on.

Martin = best defender in 08-09. He is the equivalent to the 4th~ best defender in '03. Stevens, Nieds, Rafalski, Dan-o/White/Martin.

Rolston needs to step up. He's been a non factor so far in the playoffs and if continues to do so we will be in a tight situation. Its still a 1-1 series, but if Rolston doesn't show up with Zubrus stepping it up as well we're in for an early exit. I'd like to at least play until may here fellas.

This is terrible news about the Captain......But watching the way the lines were shaken up in game 2, what about trying these lines

Rolston-Holik/Pelley-Rupp/Pelley (Problably Holik will play center, but why not insert Rod Pelley in place of Rupp, get a little bit of speed)

Since Elias-Zubrus-Gionta and Pandolfo-Madden-Shanahan have been playing well together, I would just more Rolston to Langs spot and see what that does. It really doesn't matter their "styles" imo. Those who best adapt to change survive, and now these players need to do things differently to win. Some players are too systematic and need to step outside the box.

I seriously do not believe we will see either one again in this series. Maybe even not in the playoffs. The DEvils are being their usual self again when it comes to injury disclosure, that is, friggin pathetic.

There is no word on what Langenbrunner might have. They always say day-to-day. But yes, this is life as a Devilsfan I guess. I hope that Sutter uses Jamies absence as a motivational incentive to get the guys going. Kill the Canes! Do it for your Captain!
