What a whiney *****. He's talking about the goal in the last game of the regular season and making excuses for the fact that he put it in his own net.


"He uses his stick a lot, puts his stick in your hands," he said. "He gets his stick in places that are borderline places."

Parise did that Saturday in the Devils' 3-2 win over Carolina that closed the regular season. On a delayed penalty against the Canes, the Devils rushed down the ice and Niclas Havelid fired the puck to the right of the goal.

Canes goalie Michael Leighton came out of net to make a play, only to have the puck take a crazy bounce off the back glass and carom back to the top of the crease. Parise and Corvo were there, with Parise doing some quick stick battling with Corvo and then knocking in the puck for a 2-1 lead, leaving Corvo steaming and talking to the referee.

"That frustrated me," Corvo said. "I'm just not in the mood to let guys get away with stuff like that on me."

The best plan Sutter came up with was scratching Holikenstien, and playing Rupp & Pandolfo. I feel that had we had Bobby Holik in the line up we would've had more penalties than just 2. Holik I think has forgotten how to play playoff hockey. Rupp will always be remembered for his game winning goal against the Ducks in 03. and Pando what's there to say? He not the proud owner of Stanley Cup Champions rings for nothing. Both he and John Madden have built names for themselves for the way they shadow a team's most dangerous offensive player(s) and totally shut them down. Just think back 2 years removed of the brilliant job done in containing Jagr, and now with Ol' man Shanny in the mix? Frist lines out there; BEWARE!!!
If we come out with the same passion shown in game and win I really don't see this going longer than 5 games... :yo::yo::yo:

In game one, the Canes looked to weather the storm on the road. Now the pressure is on them to try to take one before heading home and it'll be the Devils that need to exceed their intensity. Game one should be a tremendous confidence booster for the boys and hopefully they can continue the same excellent play and dictate the tenor of the series.

Anyway, to tweak the lineups. Cullen is probably centering the 2nd line with Jokinen moving down to the 4th. It's not definite but it seems to be the consensus. Eaves is on the 3rd line with Sammy and Brind'amour most likely and Walker would move down to the 4th. There's talk that Bayda will be in for Conboy and Kaberle will be in for Wallin. The last two are just speculation though. The others ones are probably good to go though.

Oh it's not from what I hear. Never been there myself, but I hear it can get fairly sticky with the humidity and the puck just doesn't glide at times. I dunno about players wiping out but I think it more effects the pace of play and puck control. But this is all just from watching the games on TV, never been close enough to give a really good opinion of it.

I was just making fun of that whole ordeal that happened on the boards in regards to those bounces. I don't actually think it's a conspiracy. Ice is ice. It's slippery sometimes people fall. Its true....there are some awful commentators in the NHL, especially on television. And there are some that are good but unbelievably biased. It's really hard to try and watch a Boston, Pittsburgh, St. Louis or Columbus feed. Johan Franzen scored an amazing goal earlier this year and the St. Louis barely acknowledged that even scored.
