jc950003* 04-16-2009, 01:54 AM Does anyone that went to this game think it was sold out? I know they can say it is on paper, but there looked like there was at least 1000-1500 seats empty, plus at least 8 empty boxes ( I dont know if those count towards the 17625).
I am sure i will get bashed for this thread because I am an HF newbie and dont have 15,000 posts. but i really dont care

There were even empty patches upstairs, so no not everyone showed up. But downstairs is hard to count in some places because people sit in the ****in bar the entire time, for whatever reason.

I agree. Attendance wins cups so I completely understand why we'd inflate ours...

ILikeItVeryMuch 04-16-2009, 01:56 AM It was a dolaned sellout, but a ****ing great crowd.
Friday will be a madhouse.
Darius Dangleaitis 04-16-2009, 01:57 AM It looked like the club seats were a little depleted but people are always gorging themselves in the lounges (including myself when I'm home). Other than that it looked pretty full on TV.

Thank god that one Rangers fan filled our house.
Mr.Krinkle 04-16-2009, 01:59 AM As someone who's missed all of 2 home games this year...yes that was a sellout. I always go by the end zone balconies and the mezz levels, which were packed. Yes there were spots that were empty, but that was thanks to the ******* brokers who bought up seats hoping we played the Rangers and couldnt offload em, those still count as seats sold even if those ******** can't sell em.
guyincognito 04-16-2009, 02:00 AM and seriously, even though this really didn't need its own topic and everyone that was there was aware the building wasn't full...
boxes don't count towards attendance. neither do the tables and I don't think the goal bar does either.

No way man, that was no Dolan, that was a legit sellout. JVB had no hand in posting that 17,625, just by looking around the arena at the empty seats, you could see the ones the brokers had but couldnt offload.
Nothing makes me happier than ticket brokers eating money, they are the lowest pieces of **** on the planet, even lower than Ranger fans who show up to our games in Ranger jerseys.

Agree on all fronts, a Friday late crowd, oh man, it's gonna be ****ing insane.
Anyone who's ever tried to legitimately get a ticket for a big football game is just laughin at those d-bags right now, sadly that just means higher prices for other events. **** em though, let em sweat.

They are total scum ****s, every time they walk past me on the way to the arena, I wanna sucker punch them, take their tickets and give them away at the door.
I hate those ****ing **** bags. They're ****ing leeches and probably live in their mothers basement with just a cot and a computer to buy tickets to every event under the sun within a 50 mile radius.

jc950003* 04-16-2009, 02:33 AM I has season tickets all of last year, however this year I lived in COlorado and was unfamiliar with the crowd. I amhome for easter and a week or so, so this is my 3rd game at the rock this year, and 4th on friday...
Overall concensious? all seats were sold but the brokers and rich bastarts couldnt re-sell them? I want to make sure I am on the same page.....
Also one other question: Do the box seats go towards the 17625? I saw at least 7 empty blacked out boxes. Are they sold and not attended? or do those not count toward the 17625?
ANYWAY, great atmosphere, I Was in 228 row 3 with jerk ranger fan in front of me, and a conplete loser Flyer fan who was wearing a flyers jersey standing and chearing the whole third, he got so bashed by the fans it was great.... did anyone else see that? IT was hillarious..
If anyone wants to meet JC950003 ( the res. lush, pesimest, drunk, jerk who hates europeans (however elias is growing on me, I will be in the corner section 233 i think, row 1 seats 1 and 2. I am a nice guy now that i stopped getting drunk some say hi or throw eggs or D batteries at me.
ILikeItVeryMuch 04-16-2009, 02:36 AM The luxury boxes are not counted towards attendance. After all the worries everyone had about this midweek crowd, it turned out fine and turned out to be a sellout. And Krinkle is onto something about the mystery rows, probably bought by brokers expecting Devils/Rangers.

crowd sounded pretty good on TV. I think a lot of the excitement had to do with the devils fast start really getting the crowd into it early.
I fully expect the crowd to be really rocking on Friday. I expect the same kind of atmosphere that we had when Marty broke the record.

Mr.Krinkle 04-16-2009, 03:10 AM Ha funny story about Ambien...apparently someone my girl works with is taking those, and someone else they work with is about to be prescribed them on top of percocets for problems with her eye (it's nasty, don't make me explain, all you need to know is that it's to avoid too much pressure inside the eye)....so needless to say, the first chick tells the other about the insane dreams, "holy ****, you wouldn't believe the erotic dreams i've had on those, i don't want my doc to take me off them!"
Who new Ambien got you off in your sleep?

BenedictGomez 04-16-2009, 12:11 PM It was a great crowd last night, and there were WAY, WAY more people than I was expecting given all the unsold tickets floating around on EBAY, Stubhub, Devs ticexchange, (you name it), etc.... IMO, it couldnt have been a sellout unless the ticket brokers took the mother-of-all-baths. But it was interesting the plethora of entire rows empty where you could just see what a beating they took.

Captain Lou 04-16-2009, 12:14 PM I still think it was one of those mocking Ranger jerseys, but who knows.
I saw that guy going out to the smoking lounge and it was a horrible knock-off of a real Rag jersey. The name on the back was Phillips and it was #80. The lettering was the wrong style and it was placed all wrong on the jersey. He was the definition of a tool box.
And Ranger fans wonder why we love to mock them.

No Devils fan would ever commit such sacrilege.
I read that when Hasidic Jews pray every morning, they thank God that they are men and not women.
When I wake up in the morning, I pray and thank God that I am a Devils fan and not a NYR fan. Honestly.
I still think it was one of those mocking Ranger jerseys, but who knows.
It looks like Adam Graves' retired #9, or no, maybe perhaps it was also Andy Bathgate's retired #9. I've gotten confused over the NYR recent obsession of retiring every number possible.
I'd be willing to be that it's Graves' #9 and that in typical fashion, that NYR clown has no clue who Andy Bathgate is and cannot name a single NYR player from before the pre-1990 Mark Messier era. Most NYR can't for that matter.

I really believe it.
We accepted what happened in 1994 with quiet dignity and even respect. We weren't happy with the result, but we were civil and certainly subdued.
But since 1995, we have been subjected to ridicule (mostly from NYR fans) about things like attendance, location of Stanley Cup parades, boring style of hockey, and a plethora of other things.
That's evil.
I like to think of this whole situation as what happened in the movie, The Matrix
We as Devils fans philosophically take the red pill (and red is our team color) and the evil NYR fans take the blue pill, which is the color of that demonic franchise.
I can't help it. There is definitely something philosophical & spiritual involved here.
