Me and my big mouth. I've been complaining about how The Hockey News, never gives the Devils respect and now they had to go out and pick them to win the Cup.

I hope that wasn't the kiss of death. :shakehead

Why isnt it on the website?

If someone finds it, please post a link. I find it surprising someone would pick the Devils to win the cup.

It's probably some kind of backhanded compliment. "The Devils will win the Cup, and instantly erase all the progress the NHL has made since the lockout."

Must be false, otherwise they have serious flip-flop issues...

PREDICTION
This series is a funny one because at the beginning of the season neither was expected to have much of an impact, but because of extended hot streaks both are now popular choices as a dark horse to win the Cup. Interestingly, the past three times both teams made the playoffs in the same year (2001, 2002 and 2006) they met each other and the winner advanced to the Cup final. Could that trend continue this year? With both humming at the right time, it’s entirely possible. Carolina in seven

Their playoff preview issue had the Devils 3rd in odds to win the cup (7-1 behind Detroit 4-1 and San Jose 5-1), but it also had an article by Ken Campbell arguing they would win the Cup. Very complimentary article that argued against the kneejerk "boring" reaction to the team that THN helped create.

Their Carolina odds were 25-1. So yes, some flip-flopping anyway you look at it. We're obviously the default upset choice for people too lazy to look at anything but record in the last three weeks. Lol

That prediction article is interesting... it says "goaltending will decide the series" and gives the Devils the edge in goaltending and then says they're going to lose the series?

This thread title is misleading. It seems like one THN writer picked us to win, but the title makes it sound like THN, it's parent company, and all of its advertisers have endorsed us in the race for the SC.

Ok, so Ken Campbell picked us to win the cup. However, it's part of The Hockey News, playoff preview and Campbell is now the primary writer for THN.
