Scott Clemmensen will be in goal. Time for some Kool-Aid.

Go Devils! :handclap:

1-0 Devils (Friesen)

Scary, ESPNews has us listed as the #7 seed by virtue of Montreal having more wins as a higher tie breaker than us having games in hand.

Being 6,7, or 8 this year means the same thing. Every division leader is strong this year unlike years past. The key is to be a 4 or 5 seed. This is the tightest East race I can remember since '96.

as a side note to Kozlov's 1st point as a Dev...

Berglund's playing his 1st game for the Cats vs the Isles tonight, but his squad stinks so far, conceding 2 goals, 16 shots and they're only mid-way through the first stanza...eek, welcome to Florida Bergy.

A game that I can actually watch! So far so good too, 3-0, Friesen looking for the hat trick, hopefully Elias can pot some goals too.

3-0, another goal for Friesen :D

edit: and another point for Kozlov. I'm pretty happy with our new additions so far.

Man, in only his second game, Kozlov has been great. We get Frisen going and Madden line starts lighting it up, maybe we can outscore teams in the Playoffs. LOL

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So, was picking up Kozlov a good move?

One goal and 3 assists tonight for the new #22. Oh, MAN, I'm loving this.

EDIT: Is 9 possible? Can the Devils sign Randy McKay before the 3rd and see if he can score 4 goals?

Wow

I'm really hoping that the one thing we can take away from this game is some immediate chemistry between Kozlov, Brylin and Freeze. Hopefully this will carry forward into the playoffs, cause we sure will need them.

Hopefully Gionta will be healthy by the playoffs too. Then the Devils will have TWO offensive threats. The EGG line and the..uh...FKB line. Wow, that second name isn't good...

How funny would this be to score 7 or 8 goals and not have a single point registered by Gomez or Elias?

Reality Check: The Devils get the first power play and...don't score. I guess some things don't change, huh?

Update on that. Florida now leads the Islanders 4-2. No points for Berglund, though he is a +1. On a more interesting note: Luongo has faced 39 shots so far, DiPietro has only faced...12.

Kozlov is padding his stats. :p

Scoring lots is great, but let's remember...they are the Penguins. It does make you wonder what this NJ team is capable of doing with a healthy lineup.

Friesen-Kozlov-Brylin :handclap:

Edit: Paul Martin...wow! It is a shame he'll be passed over for the Calder. He's a rookie, playing big minutes, and acting as he #2 d-man right now on this team. :yo:

make that 4-2 Cats upon close of the 2nd...nice turnaround from a 2-zip deficit...Bergy about 3rd or 4th last among fwds with around 6:30 of game time...easing him in slowly i guess

It'll be a shame if Elias and/or Gomez doesn't get any points tonight. Elias has got the moves, the goalie has just been...there for it.

a shame indeed...but i'll settle for patty going pointless for one night if the flip-side is freeze waking up from his offensive slumber, and kozlov acquitting himself with his new buddies with a 4 point night :rolly:

Pretty much, he had alot of injuries while at Montreal and just figured the body couldn't take it anymore. It's a shame because I'm sure there is a team out there that could use him.

Just got back from the game and it was the St. Patrick's Day Massacre by the Devils... 6-1!!! Looks like the Devils have another scoring line with the Friesen-Kozlov-Brylin line... Even Langenbrunner could take Brylin's spot but keep the line the way it is. Five of the six goals were from that line tonight including a goal by defensman Paul Martin...

Kozlov was the first star of the game with 1 goal and 3 assists.
Friesen was the second star of the game with 2 goals and 2 assists.
martin had the third star of the game with 1 goal and 1 assist...

Keep this line and when Gionta comes back to the EGG line the Devils have two scoring threat lines for the playoffs... This is a HUGE boost for the Devils right now considering all the injuries...

I was a little anxious coming into this game.
Happy to see the Devils come out strong and not let up all night. Let's hope they can do that again against Montreal twice over the weekend.

Berglund also had a confrontation with Jonsson in his Florida debut.
Isles put 50+ shots on goal and still lost...ouch!
