Particularly playing in Roanoke or Wheeling. Are there any?

Well Wheeling is affiliated with Pittsburgh, so there are a couple of PIT's prospects there: Steve Crampton (#12) and Alex Rouleau (#25). There were more, but they've been called up to the AHL. Here's their roster:

Roanoke is not affiliated with an NHL team, but they do have a few young players with potential like Carl Mallette, who is fourth among rookie scorers in the league. Here's the Express roster:

Minnesota has a draftee and two unsignees playing in the ECHL:

Armands Berzins
Jamie Johnson
Maxime Fortunus

Fortunus is the only one that has been called up to the AHL.

Of those three, only Berzins is considered Minnesota property.

Goaltender Frederic Cloutier was also with their ECHL affiliate (Louisiana) most of the year but I think he's called up now.

Actually no. It's spelled McLachlan, and he's with the Adirondack IceHawks of the UHL.

Peter Metcalf, a Boston prospect is in that league somewhere. As is Vlad Gusev of the Chicago Blackhawks.

Pittsburgh has Joe Exter in Wheeling who was a signing, not a draftee, however he has played great recently, I look at him as possibly coming out as Fleury's backup down the road.

Also, Ive heard that Joe Talbot is a pretty talented player, does anyone know anything about him?

And I dont think he is much of a prospect either

The best New Jersey prospect there was Ahren Nittel and that was only for confidence. He was also sent to the UHL for 2 games and it seemed to work....he had 12 shots in an AHL game...highest total this season.

Dan Ellis was in Idaho for quite a while, but lately has either been with Salt Lake (AHL affiliate) or the Stars.

Fata and Rouleau have a good chance of making the NHL even though they are not wowing anyone. Just look at Michel Ouellet. He had played in Wheeling last year and he didnt exactly put up big numbers there. But just look at him now, he's in the race for Rookie of the Year in the AHL.

Crampton has no future in the NHL, in my mind. He is just an average player in the ECHL looking at his stats (he is lagging behind the likes of Ruid, Jaffray, and Blais) hell have to improve a lot just to become an AHL player. But im not solidifying that yet, as you never know where prospects will go.

Boucher has done a good job in Wheeling this year and suprised some in WBS this year. But if he is to make it to the NHL, it wont be for the Penguins. ith Caron, Chiodo, Fleury, and still Duba, Crawford-West, Lehto, and Goephert still in Juniors or College, hell have a hard time breaking out of Wheeling.

I know he's out of the prefered geographical zone, but Florida's Damian Surma has been pretty good. He was recently called up to play the last regular season game for the Hurricanes. I believe he got an assist.

Rob Zepp has NHL potential. Damian Surma does as well. Chad Larose i'm not sure about, could somebody fill me in there? I've heard he's a dynamic offensive prospect but just doesn't have the size. A Martin St. Louis, Corey Locke type player.

I agree about Zepp, and you are right about Larose. He's on the smaller size, but has speed on his side.

I know he's out of the prefered geographical zone What do you mean by that? There's no geographical factor in getting called up. I could demonstrate it statistically, but that could take some time.

True that, Pätzold does play in the ECHL with San Jose's affiliate Fresno, but I thought this thread was for NHL prospects. :joker:

Technically, everyone is an NHL prospect.

Fresno doesn't have a lot of well-known prospects, probably why we only had 52 points. Best call-up from Fresno this season for San Jose: goaltender Nolan Schaefer. He starred in Cleveland of the AHL.

How did Chad Larose look this season? I'm really curious about him and didn't get the chance to talk to any everblades fans this season and i'd love any information you could give me. If you'd like to PM me with it that's fine.

St. Louis had Colin Hemingway, Levente Szuper, Greg Black, Trevor Byrne, Brett Scheffelmaier, and Igor Valeev all see time in Peoria this year. All (with the probable exception of Szuper) are among the Blues' top 20 prospects, and all are expected to at least compete for NHL jobs in the next couple of seasons.

Peter Metcalf spent most of the season playing for the baby B's in Providence in the AHL. Was sent down to Trenton I'm going to say within the last couple weeks of March.

Joe Talbot played for AC last year and he's an awesome player. He spent the year with the Alaska Aces this season and has done pretty well from what I've seen.
