Advice for a fellow fan (BOS or PHI tomorrow?)

Hi guys, long time viewer-infrequent poster here (as you can see by the post count on the left). First of all I'd like to say hi to everyone on the board, it's amazing to see how many passionate Devils fans there are that constantly cause game threads to overflow.

I came to post because I am in need of some sound advice. I live in New England and just love to watch hockey, so I bought tickets to the Bruins-Flyers game tomorrow. Before Sunday's game, it was an easy decision who to cheer for tomorrow as the Flyers were breathing down our necks. Now, however it's looking more and more possible that the division is ours and we can possibly compete for the #1 seed in the East.

So I can't decide to who cheer for tomorrow. I need to make up my mind before the game so I can get into it and have fun as opposed to just being a neutral spectator. What should I do: play it safe and go for the B's, or do the unthinkable and cheer for a Flyers win?

Broons. I don't care about getting the first seed but I sure as hell want to win the division.

Root for Briere and Wideman. I have them on my fantasy team.

I would go with the Bruins. I hate the Flyers a lot more but thats just me.

I hate both teams right now. The Flyers because I'm surrounded by Phans, and the Bruins because their fans have been acting like the retards across the river. Their team finally puts together a good season after years of mediocrity and they think they're the ****.

You root for Boston. The division is more important.

I just traded for Wideman in my league...but I also have Gagne and Coburn (might not play him tomorrow) :p:

But as far as the actual game, I agree with the consensus - worry about the division first. Especially since the Devils usually crap out the years they get the top seed.

At this point, I don't even care about passing the Bruins, its unlikely anyways. I do however want this division title.

I don't know about that, what about 2000-01?

And for Thomas (Thomas + Brodeur = unreal goalie stats!), Lucic, and Kessel!:thumbu:

We're not going to win the conference this year so I'd rather the Flyers lose and not catch up.

i love, LOVE that not a single person thus far has voted for Philly. I don't think I have ever voted for Philly for anything, ever

They didn't win the whole thing (and putzed around way too much the first two rounds), though they got to Game 7.

The other years the Devils were a top seed - out in the second round to the Rangers, out in the first round, out in the first round. When we did win the Cup we were the #2, 4 and 5 seeds. And even in our '94 playoff run we were the #4 seed.

Lol, I'm the only vote for Flyers.

I seriously think the Devils have a much better chance at catching the Bruins than the Flyers do at catching the Devils.

But then, now that I think about it, I'd probably end up rooting for the Bruins too. I might hate the Flyers more than the Rangers.

I also would have picked Philly. The Devils are ahead of the Flyers. The only way for the Flyers to catch us is if we lose. We need Boston to lose in order to catch them. I have enough faith in the team that they won't blow the division at this point.

Easily Boston, 1st in the conference isn't that big of a deal honestly. I'd rather win the Division by a long margin than let Filthy close in on us just so we can overtake Boston.
