Does anyone have pictures of Doc and Chico's fine feathered friend?
I love how excited Doc gets when Chuck shows up on the screen.

The poster Nick Spaggioro or something like that has Chuck as his avatar.

Chuck the Duck is actually Stan's friend. It's completely nonfunny, and has been around for about 20 years I'd say, although, I've noticed that Chuck makes FAR fewer appearances now that the network is MSG. CTD used to seen on every friggin' Devils game you watched back in the day.

I have no idea where CTD came from or the background of "why", so if someone knows that please post.

EDIT: Also, am I completely inventing this in my warped and fragile mind, but didnt there used to be a second duck that Stan called "Lucky Ducky" prior to Chuck the Duck?

First, you are correct, there was a "Lucky Ducky". Lucky evolved into Chuck. It origniated a few years ago when Fischler and Loughlin did the intermissions together. They used to do that "Ask the Maven" segment and one of the crew had this duck on a boom mike and he used to drop it in the view of the camera when someone asked what Stan thought was the best question. I also believe there was some sort of prize given away for the best question; like Stan's Subway book (some prize).

It got really popular, and then as usual, it got overused and played out. They put a Devil uniform on him and gave him a cigar and you could actually see the shadows moving across the background behind Matt and Stan because the guys were playing with it off camera.

I must admit, Matt and Stan had a good chemistry together. Matt was amazing as Stan's foil and he used to get him all pissed off. That always made the intermission "Must See TV" for me.

YES!!! I remember it being lowered into view. Okay, so I guess I'm totally inventing that it has been around since the late 80s or early 90s, but hasnt it been around for at least a decade?

It was definitely before the Devils re-upped their contract with the Dolans because after that, all of the networks and talent were combined under one umbrella. Stan used to do virtually all the Devils games (sometimes Islanders) and NEVER did the Rangers. That's where much of the hatred for Stan stems from. He used to rip the Rangers mercilessly until he got under their contractual control and then all of a sudden it stopped. Hmm, wonder why?

Then, I think Matt just did the intermissions alone (or with Dano) for a couple of years, until Lou made the questionable decision to let Matt do radio PBP. Now, we get to hear...

SCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Going to show my age here...back in the 1950s Groucho Marx hosted a quiz show (game show) called "You Bet Your Life." If a contestant said the "secret word" then a duck (at least, I think it was a duck) would drop into range of the camera, and the contestant would win a prize.

Hence the cigar, etc, on Chuck the Duck.
