Dirk would take that with a big smile on his face .

We have too much issues with penalties as is. Adding Avery would make it unbearable.

No surprise that the emo losers of this forum wouldnt want an upgrade over some of the nonchalant passionless players this team has.
Keep crying as a group

Meh I'd be willing to try it out for the rest of the year. What is his contract like?

As Shakespeare would say, therein lies the rub. He's signed until the summer of 2012 at a cap hit of 3.875million/year. Even on re-entry, that's 1.9million/year for the next three seasons.

The length of the contract would bother me more than anything else. Until he proves he can play back at the level he's shown in the past (keep in mind he was playing terribly with Dallas prior to the suspension) and also keep the off-ice distraction/sideshow to a minimum, I would stay away.

I'm not emo, I don't whine...

He's no where near a good enough player to justify the attitude risk, certainly not a team apparently in a "re-tool" of sorts.

I'm sorta rooting for him to get back on track, just not on the Ducks.

IF we do this we go all the way.

Pick up Avery on re-entry.

Trade Hiller for Ray Emery, I'm sure Hiller will love Russia

Get Bertuzzi back from Calgary, Probably should trade Bobby Ryan for him. Power forward for a "power forward" yaknow.

I wonder if we can get Claude Lemieux...he would be a great addition to our locker room with this crowd.

You mean you DON'T want piece of **** players on your team? Why get Avery then, he's the biggest piece of **** of them all. Look if we do this, let's just go all the way, maybe we can get McSorley to come out of retirement for this special 09-10 Dirkalicious season too.

How about no.

His own teammates on the Dallas Stars said he was a bad influence in the locker room. No one can ever claim Avery doesn't display passion, but is that passion worth all the negative aspects he brings? Absolutely not.

Lets tank it hard and improve our draft position.

I don't know if that means we need to get Avery or avoid him.

word has it from Kings fans that Avery used to make fun of Dustin Brown's speech impediment in the locker room. He mocked him and prodded him until there was finally a fist fight in the locker room between Avery and another member of the team.

That's the type of guy we need in our corner during a rebuild?

It sounds like all of you have forgotten JSG's reaction when Avery hurled that stupid anti-French Canadian stuff about. Dirk, are you planning on trading Jiggy before acquiring Avery? I like gritty players, but I don't overestimate them. Several teams couldn't get rid of Avery fast enough.

Signed through 2012...for 2million a year (and prior for nearly 4 million). **** that, sorry Dirk. But if it was just for the remainder of the year I wouldn't have minded. I had no idea someone threw him that much money.

Please do. I'm sure I'll find it hilarious. And then I'll whine about it.

edit: and just to humor the topic. The Stars with Avery were 8-11-4 and 21-13-3 without him. That's a 0.435 point % compared to 0.608% after he was suspended. He hurt the team.
