I also believe it is likely we see him again after the trade deadline, still pretty interesting in today's NHL that he goes back to the minors. Clemmer's numbers: 25-13-1, 2 shutouts, 2.39 GAA and .917 SV%. His stats basically put him in the top ten in all categories despite playing about 10+ fewer games than most goalies.

Based on the poll we revisited earlier this week, many people believed our season was all but over when #30 went down (I was too numb to think about anything olther than Mr. Jack Daniels after Marty's injury).

Anyway, thanks to Scott Clemmensen for his solid work, and the only goaltender in Devils' history other than Brodeur to win 25 games in a single season. :handclap:

Dam right!!!! The guy comes in and sets the ship straight. Shows that he can get the job done on most nights. Good Job

I appreciate the job Clemmer did for us, but no way was he sensational. Let's not forget that the team bailed him out a lot more than the other way around.

With that said, I still think highly of him and the way he and Weeksie handled the work during Marty's absence.

This just proves once again how great this team is at finding the right people for the organization and for the team concept we so strongly live by.

Hopefully Clemmer will get another chance, if not with us so maybe somewhere else.

Clemmer, we will always have the memories.

Clemmer thank you for what you have done. The devils fans really appreciate your work and I really hope to see him get some real recognition come playoff time! Everyone including some of us thought we would be at most barely in a playoff position or fighting for one and you lead us to the top of the division. I will always remember this season as one of the most extraordinary seasons. Great Job and again, thank you, and I hope you have success wherever your career takes you.

I would bet you that Clemmer would rather play in Lowell then sit on the bench with the big club. Clemmer is the type of Goalie who has shown he needs to play a lot to be successful.

23 wins with over 3 goals.......he had the support. I don't hate the guy, but the status he's getting on the main boards make me sick. He's a back up goalie.

That's what I said but people keep insisting that he carried this team. I'd like to see him play for offensively challenged team. All that aside, his save % is pretty high so really, he wasn't terrible.

Lowell officially has the filthiest Goaltending tandem in the AHL.

his puck-playing skills were...well he wasn't marty. but the good thing is he only needed to be scott to succeed.

It's really not that hard....

I remember when this thread was created when he left the Devils.

He did the job. Period. Did he have support? yes. Was he occasionally bailed out? yes. What goalie doesn't need help from his D? Does it matter how he did it? He won games. That's always the bottom line.

Clemmer is the man. I'd be sad to see him go now, but I feel for him having to go from helping our team to 2nd in the conference to having to play in Lowell. I have a feeling that he might just get shelled down there with the lack of consistency that team has, but I hope he continues his solid play. Clemmensen to Buffalo would be weird, but realistically it could happen.

He did what he could to do what had to be done.
It's kinda the Devils' way.
Nothing fancy about his game, and plenty of things that made us all nervous (rebound control, puck handling, interviews:sarcasm:), but he was effective.
He's not a Vezina candidate. He's not gonna land us Neids. But he did what was asked of him.
He had goal support in most of his wins, yes. But the team also got shutout 4 times, i believe, in games he lost.

You have to know that there is no way a team can be sitting on top of a division without some semblance of good goaltending. He kept us in games. He was not spectacular or had not stood on his head, but he deserves some credit.

Thanks Clemmer for helping the team to so far a very good season. I hope you get a fair shot with another organization and a decent contract, you deserve it.

Doing what Marty hasn't been able to do since TOO long ago...will last a lifetime. :sarcasm:

Really I expect he'll be back up in about a week anyway. But you never know, maybe Clemmer can stay strong and help Lowell win the Calder Cup.

Either way, you've gotta appreciate what he's done for the team this season, which as it's been said, exceeded all of our expectations. He may not have carried the team nor even really truly had to steal too many games, but at the end of the day, he's part of the reason we are where we are right now.

yes i realize that..... i am not that naive.the team definitely made the difference. he definitely has a rebound and position problem that we were lucky not to have payed dearly for.

I really hope Scotty finds a place to play and its not the AHL. He should at least be a back-up somewhere. He's shown he can play at NHL level now, but he needs to improve on consistency and rebound control.

If you for some reason are reading this Scotty, thanks for all you have done. I'm very proud to have been a fan of yours even when u were on the team two years ago (Up there in other Devils Goalies not named brodeur with Vanbesbruck, Resch and Weekes)
