Zajac or Martin

Im going to the rock saturday and im getting a number on my white jersey. Im stuck between zajac and martin... Who do you guys think will last on the team longer and who do you think i should get on the back?

I thought this was going to be a "If you had to choose between one of the two" type threads.

Go with the Zajac sweater. They will both be on the team for a long time and both will remain fairly underrated players. But there will be more people out there with Martin sweaters (#1 D-man) versus Zajac (Parise's sidekick) sweaters.

Nope...stitch it all the way, none of this iron on stuff!

I got my Zajac done at the rock, my Parise's and Brodeur's I had stitched on and they're definitely better...

I'll post an up close pick of the Zajac one in a few..

Those guys do the real jerseys for the Devils that they wear on the ice. They also do jersey's for the Caps, NHL all-star games, and other teams/leagues. It's only $55 + ~$10 shipping.

If you spent money on your jersey, do not get it done at the Rock. I had a "free" jersey that I found when I was buying Giants SB crap at Modells with gift cards, and I wanted it done quick, so I got it done there.

It's okay, but if you're a nit, you can find fault, and I wouldn't expect it to have a long lifespan... but like I said, it was a stopgap for this season because I retired a jersey.

If it's an authentic, (especially with RBK's prices), you'd have to be insane to get it done there.

I have both a Martin and Zajac jersey but for whatever reason I never seem to wear my Martin. I think it may be because it's white and I'm afraid I'll stain it.

Don't facepalm Denis. He was good in Columbus plus he was one of my favourite players.

And I love my Zajac jersey. I picked it up during his rookie season. It was fun to be one of the few with his jersey for a while but the last time I went I've been seeing a lot more of his jerseys.

I think if Lou doesn't give him a better supporting cast, he'll explore other options. I don't mean to rip on Johnny/White/Sal, but I think Martin's game is being held back a bit (mostly in terms of offensive production) because he doesn't have any other top-end talent to play with.

I hope your wrong too to be honest. :laugh: I do think if we got a defenseman like J-Bo though he would be more inclined to stay.

I get a "Damnit, I'm surrounded by idiots" vibe from Martin. I left a very well paying job for less money after a month just because I was surrounded by complete morons. I'm not saying our defenseman are complete wastes of sperm like the people I worked with. It's just that he could probably make a bigger name for himself if he had better talent to play with, and I think he knows that.

I don't think that he's all that good of a offensive player. Don't get me wrong, the guy is my favorite Devil outside of Marty, but his shot isn't much to write home about, and he suffers from confidence problems on occasion.

He's got amazing puck carrying abilities, but that can only take you so far if you don't have that many guys who can finish.

And can somebody please explain to me where Minnesota is going to find the cap room to get a guy like Martin? They currently have 11.950 tied up in 3 defenseman until 2010, still having to give guys like Koivu, Zidlicky and Backstrom hefty raises.

Plus, I'm sure that they want to focus more cash on their forwards considering that they don't have a lot of talent there.

i'm actually at this same crossroad when it comes to jersey customization. i'm leaning toward Zajac.

I think I'm getting Zajac on my current blank red one to go with my signed Elias red. Since I never wear the Elias, I'm always sporting a blank and I'd rather have somebody on it. I was considering Martin too, but I think I'm going to go with Zajac. I just need a white jersey now. Maybe I'll spend some of my tax refund on that this year...
