which is the worst 4 - 0 loss?

panthers
thrashers (home game)
islanders

i would say the panthers, based on their play lately the devils should not have taken them lightly.

don't know what you mean by worst loss,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but if it means which game did they play worst in i will give you my opinion in order

3. florida ( i actually thought they were decent in this game just ran into a hot goalie)

2. Islanders
1. Atlanta that was a brutal game ; as was the islanders

I think the good news is that it is obvious the team did not get up for these games the devils have on the otherhand won all the "big" games lately and have stepped it up for those contests

it is perfectly natural for some let downs here and there i can only remember maybe 4 or 5 games all year where i though the effort was not there for this team, maybe less

islanders, and atlanta were certainly two of them maybe 1 or 2 others. im not too worried about the islanders game.

Who's to say the Devils took the Panthers lightly? They outshot them big early (like 22-9) but ran out of juice late once the Panthers widened their lead, plus it was set up for a classic letdown game anyway.

The Isles loss was annoying but I can't get too down after we're on the tail end of winning 15 of 19 games.

By far, it's the Atlanta loss. First off it was at home, secondly it was the last of a series of subpar efforts by the Devils from late December-early January. The only solace from that game is it was rock bottom and the Devils shaped up after that, going 5-1 on the road.

The Panthers loss was probably the worst since it was against a potential playoff opponent, but a big part of that loss goes to Vokoun just standing on his head. He was awesome in net that game.

Thrashers by far!

the panthers game shouldn't have been a classic letdown game because the panthers have been one of the best teams since the all star break.... that is why that loss bothers me more then the other two...

so maybe they didn't take them lightly based on their shot totals but i would like to think that this team isn't going to lose 4 - 0 when it sees a team as a threat.

I was on the glass for the Thrashers game, I payed good money to see what was probably the worst hockey the Devils have played in years.

I was in attendance for the Atlanta debacle, I would say that was the worst since we had a juiced up 16k+ crowd at home during a college night promo and the lack of skills or energy was appalling.

Last night was not a shock with the whole flu bug thing going around, but it still was disappointing to watch last night's egg.

I guess it is when you have 4 days of no devils hockey to watch.

The loss to the Thrashers was the most pathetic and inexcusable of the lot, but it was also a turning point in the Devils' season.

The loss to Florida will hopefully serve as a stark reminder once the teams play next, and in the event that they match up in the playoffs.

The Islander game had zero consequence in my opinion. The team was depleted with the flu, and obviously had little in the tank for that night. It was simply one of those games you'd like to forget and from which you'd like to move on.

Atlanta game for sure, it only rivals the Penguins game from last season at the rock as one of the worst games I've seen them play in the Brodeur era.
