Pronger Niedermayer Montador Hedican Festerling Mikkelson Brookbank Salcido MEEPSTER4 02-19-2009, 03:48 PM Hmm...why? Trade coming? My thoughts exactly. I can't see any other reason except injury. Perhaps one of "the big 2" will be sent packing. snarktacular 02-19-2009, 03:52 PM The Ducks already had 7 guys: Niedermayer, Pronger, Brookbank, Montador, Hedican, Festerling, Mikkelson. Theory 1: Was there a defenseman that didn't get minutes at the end of the game yesterday? Maybe an injury or Carlyle benched a guy? Can someone go to nhl.com and check (I don't have access to that site here)? Thoery 2. The flu/mono/whatever is going through the lockerroom like wildfire. Including multiple defensemen. They need another just in case. Theory 3 (static's theory). A Dman will be traded soon. Static 02-19-2009, 03:58 PM Hedican played less than 10 minutes last night, much less than his average. It would be much more sensible to assume he has some sort of issue and Salcido is up to take his spot, or Mikkelson's in the press box. duckster24 02-19-2009, 04:00 PM The Ducks already had 7 guys: Niedermayer, Pronger, Brookbank, Montador, Hedican, Festerling, Mikkelson. Hedican only played one shift in the third period and logged just under 10 minutes for the game. snarktacular 02-19-2009, 04:05 PM Thanks guys. Ha. If it is Hedican, hahaha was just mentioning yesterday how he was being unusually physical last night. Now you know why he's not normally like that. Another possibility was someone was hurt during the line-scrum after Niedermayer's charge. justheducks 02-19-2009, 04:09 PM My guess is that Salcido is being recalled to take over Carlyle's coaching spot. *crossing fingers!* duckster24 02-19-2009, 04:47 PM Hmm...why? Trade coming? Pronger Niedermayer Montador Hedican Festerling Mikkelson Brookbank Salcido Festerling sent down. http://ducks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=410074 http://www.allducks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20805&st=0&gopid=499624&#entry499624 Spankatola Jamnuts 02-19-2009, 04:55 PM Just evaluating other guys? Duckstudd269 02-19-2009, 04:56 PM According to Allducks.com, Festerling has been reassigned to Iowa. http://www.allducks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20805&st=0&gopid=499624&#entry499624 I'm glad if that's true. Festerling has looked really bad lately. He had one good game a couple of games ago, but he seems to be really out of sink. He goes for the check and gets easily rubbed off. However, I'd still rather have him up then Mikkelson. I am glad Salcido is finally getting his shot though. duckster24 02-19-2009, 04:56 PM Just evaluating other guys? If they are, seems like an odd time, unless they've thrown in the towel. Heavy Hussar 02-19-2009, 08:56 PM its good to see him get a call up. i have been a "salsa" fan since i saw him play scaha. snarktacular 02-19-2009, 10:30 PM I guess that's mystery solved then. I did see Hedican playing in Festerling's spot opposite Indecision-mayer like every other shift against the Kings. So in hindsight we probably should have known. Maybe Festerling's hit the rookie wall. But still. Mikkelson over Festerling? Spankatola Jamnuts 02-20-2009, 12:52 AM Guess they want him to play. McDonald19 02-21-2009, 04:24 PM Pretty good Salcido article at LA Times... http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-spw-hockey-sidebar21-2009feb21,0,2752590.story Paul4587 02-21-2009, 09:03 PM He looks pretty good tonight so far, much better than Mikkelson. Static 02-27-2009, 05:20 PM Salcido has been sent back down with Drew Miller being called up. I hate this move because I thought Salcido was much better than Mikkelson in the time he played. He'll be back once our defensive situation is stabilized im sure. If he doesn't play next season with us he'll be traded to a team that will play him. He's done enough at the AHL I'm sure he'll be brought up with us or another team next season. Spankatola Jamnuts 02-27-2009, 07:34 PM He'll be back once our defensive situation is stabilized im sure. If he doesn't play next season with us he'll be traded to a team that will play him. He's done enough at the AHL I'm sure he'll be brought up with us or another team next season. I think we'd all prefer it was here, though. Ducks 02-27-2009, 07:48 PM definitely. If he can translate what he has been doing for 2 years in the AHL to the NHL he'll be worth more than we can ever realistically get for him in a trade. Plus he is a local boy. McDonald19 02-28-2009, 02:29 PM I can't figure out why Carlyle and Murray like Mikkelson more than Salcido. Spankatola Jamnuts 02-28-2009, 03:17 PM Murray mentioned that there were bonus issues with Salcido's contract that factored in the past. Maybe that's still part of it. Ducks 02-28-2009, 03:17 PM I can't figure out why Carlyle and Murray like Mikkelson more than Salcido. I duno, I'm not so sure it's that they like Mikkelson more. I think we just have enough offensive defensemen right now. Nieds, Whitney, Hedican, Montador (to an extent). I really see Salcido having a place on the team next year or being traded. There's just no way he goes back to the AHL. | ||
