Canucks fan here, just noticed that Teemu was signed to a two year contract this fall for you guys. With all the talk about his retirement, I was surprised to see that. Is it likely he will honor the full length of the contract, or is a retirement this Summer likely?

2010 Olympics; he will be back next season... same with Scott.

Its highly unlikely he retires this summer, he actually asked for a 3 year contract before signing on for two years, indicating his desire to continue playing in the NHL.

Well on one hand there is the 3 year thing, but on the other hand he hasn't really answered retirement questions with "I'm playing." IIRC, he's given a sort of non-committal "we'll see." I could be wrong though.

He wants one more kick at the Olympic can, he'll be back next year.

As mentioned before Selanne is most likely coming back next year. I think all of us would be really surprised if he retired after this season. S.Niedermayer i'm not so sure about. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Scotty come back next year, but I'm not so sure it will be for the Ducks.
