So, I might be moving to Redondo Beach in September due to studies. It's still only January but I'd like to find out as much as possible now already. I know there is something called Wikipedia, but I wanna find out places in Redondo I should check (resturants, stores etc) out and also places nearby I should visit.
Would be apprecieated to hear from people who has been spedning some time there or even lived in the area what it is like living there and how Redondo compares to other beach cities near LA. Thanks! :)
Edit:
What is the distance to Anaheim and to Los Angeles from Redondo?

To Anaheim it's about 30 miles. Technically to LA center it's about 24, but honestly, LA spreads everywhere, like a tumor.

Probably about 30 min no traffic from Redondo to Anaheim and about the same to get to LA/Hollywood
Redondo is pretty nice more upscale compared to alot of beach cities(Laguna,Newport exception)
It gets real packed in the summer. The "Strand" is a small strip on the beach where most of the bar and restaurants are. Most LA athletes live in nearby Manhattan Beach (Lakers,Kings)

South Redondo is the nice area of Redondo Beach, near Riviera Village, where there are many shops and restaurants, and where it is near the water. Believe it or not, there are areas of Redondo that I wouldn't want to live in that are a couple of miles inland. No restaurants or shops on the strand in Redondo, but plenty on the pier, both in Redondo and neighboring Hermosa Beach. Pier Plaza in Hermosa Beach, and Hermosa Avenue are popular party spots, with ample clubs and nightlife. Manhattan Beach is more upscale, with nice restaurants and clubs surrounding the pier area. Any of the three locations are great places to live, just be somewhat selective in Redondo.
