Miller sent ChoppingPaul4587 02-06-2009, 07:01 PM http://ducks.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=408101 Duckstudd269 02-06-2009, 07:18 PM and we still stuck... snarktacular 02-06-2009, 08:30 PM Yes! Miller wasn't good here. He was serviceable, but we've got plenty of serviceable (pretty much the entire team). Let him play in Iowa (with more ice time), maybe they'll make the playoffs. Should be a good experience for him, and maybe he can polish up some offensive skills that he got no chance to try here (offensive ice time). And hit the gym. He's still a good prospect, just not ready. Next year we'll probably have a lot of openings for him. Dirk316 02-06-2009, 08:33 PM finally maybe this means God is gonna come back sooner, plus Mike Brown + Carter where creating all kinds of havok out there while Miller was doing nothing. Add Paros and we finally have a legit 4th line that will pound teams and can provide offense Buck Naked 02-06-2009, 08:46 PM finally maybe this means God is gonna come back sooner, plus Mike Brown + Carter where creating all kinds of havok out there while Miller was doing nothing. Dirk316 02-06-2009, 08:56 PM  Provide offense, haha you're gold man. Miller = 0 Goals Parros a slow enforcer = 4 goals Carter = 3 goals If they score a goal every 3rd/4th game, bang some bodies and fight when necessary whats not to like about that Jerky Leclerc 02-06-2009, 09:26 PM Miller was pretty serviceable on the pk. snarktacular 02-06-2009, 10:13 PM Miller was pretty serviceable on the pk. Yeah PK is certainly one of Miller's strengths. Ha, I bet you never thought you'd see "Miller" and "strength" in the same sentence. I don't even have anything to add, I just chuckled at Miller and strength. I think it's because the PK is more zone/positional-based, so Miller can use his good positioning/head and stick to break up plays, versus 1 on 1 defense where he'll always lose the battle and get outmuscled. Mooseduck 02-07-2009, 12:17 AM Miller Lite can now concentrate on the Krog Cup. :) iHATEbeauch23 02-07-2009, 01:49 AM ****ing christ now they do it when it's too late. can we just get rid of him already. were still going to miss the playoffs BraveSirRobin 02-07-2009, 02:23 AM I agree, its for the best. Miller wasn't bad, but he's not quite ready. Some players need more time, and Miller seems to fall into that category. Hopefully by next year he'll have at least learned some things to stick around and be more of a contributor. Also as snarktacular mentioned, hitting the gym would do wonders for him. Duckstudd269 02-07-2009, 04:46 PM Miller's problem is that he brings absolutely nothing at even strength. IMO, he's one of the better penalty killers. I think he's better then Carter in that aspect. However, he just brings nothing at even strength. He's not an energy guy, so he's not going to help you on the 4th line. He's has nothing offensive wise, so that takes out the top two lines. People say he'd be good on the 3rd line. Well, obviously that'd be the place for him at this point, but IMO you have to be able to hit to play that role. He's not physical enough to be on the third line. Like mentioned earlier he needs to develop more of his game, and most of all he needs to get in the weight room. He's not physical enough to be on the third line. Like mentioned earlier he needs to develop more of his game, and most of all he needs to get in the weight room. Its not even about hitting really. Where his lack of strength is a glaring weakness is along the boards and winning 1-on-1 battles for pucks. Can you imagine Miller going into the corner with Iginla or Arrontt (just to name two random guys). He'd lose every time. | ||
