Go Ducks!
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 08:55 PM After the AS break I predicted (although it wasn't posted until near the end of the Phoenix game) that the Ducks would win 4 of the next 5 (I meant 5 of the next 6, but posted the other).
Tonight they could match my prediction with a win. Meaning they'll probably lose, but I can dream.
Go Ducks!
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:07 PM Ahlers sounds so surprised that the Ducks "have 2 lines who can produce offense."
It's Minnesota, we'll have 0 lines who can produce offense.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 09:08 PM Let's go Hiller !!!
Get another win - big night for points.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 09:09 PM Is Morrison scratched again?
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:09 PM Mikkelson (yay!) and Morrison (double yay!) are the scratches.
Carter's on the 3rd line. With Miller.
Brookbank takes OD's number.
Ducksforcup 02-04-2009, 09:12 PM Slow start for Anaheim...Wild came out with a lot of speed.
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 09:13 PM So, I guess we're back to weak ass penalties again. Let em play!
(Note: not saying it wasn't a penalty, just that we should let that weak **** go).
Talentless Practise 02-04-2009, 09:13 PM Moen-Getzlaf-Perry
Kunitz-Ebbett-Selanne
Miller-Carter-Robbie
Ryan-Marchant-Parros :shakehead
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 09:13 PM Min scores 1-0 on PP
None of the Ducks seemed to concerned he skated it to the front and scored. :shakehead
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 09:14 PM Slow start for Anaheim...Wild came out with a lot of speed.
Great, we give up the first goal again.
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 09:14 PM WTF...really, wow.
Ugh, letting players walk to the front of the net from behind the net...
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:14 PM We score first again. Oh wait.
Ducksforcup 02-04-2009, 09:15 PM Garbage goal for the Wild...we don't score first again.
ericnut 02-04-2009, 09:19 PM Carlye bet 400,000 on the game.
Miller - Getzlaf - Perry
Ryan - Marchant - Parros
Bobby Smash 02-04-2009, 09:21 PM anaheim is going to lose tonight. they cant allow the first goal every game.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:24 PM anaheim is going to lose tonight. they cant allow the first goal every game.
You can't allow the first goal against the Wild, or others like say the Wings, Stars, Rangers.
Although surprisingly not the Wings and Stars this year.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 09:29 PM Traptastic - Ducks are working hard, things can go either direction.
Hope they can keep up the pace tonight.
Spankatola Jamnuts 02-04-2009, 09:29 PM I really wish the Wild didn't exist. Never a not-dull moment with this team.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 09:29 PM LOL Perry - What me? Great play ... :handclap:
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 09:30 PM Power play time boys!
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 09:31 PM Lol at Perry. Reminds of the playoffs when the Ref grabbed a Sens players stick to call an Icing. Why doesn't Perry get to the play the puck there? haha.
Surprised he didn't get a penalty.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:32 PM Mikko Koivu wouldn't have fallen over the puck like Getzlaf just did.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 09:32 PM Getz looked like Tazmanian Devil - epic whiff.
Talentless Practise 02-04-2009, 09:34 PM Mikko Koivu wouldn't have fallen over the puck like Getzlaf just did.
Probably the dumbest thing posted on these boards today.
Abyss 02-04-2009, 09:36 PM anaheim is going to lose tonight. they cant allow the first goal every game.
Garbage goal for the Wild...we don't score first again.
We score first again. Oh wait.
for what it's worth, the Bruins have lead in the first period like 5 minutes total the last 10 games
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:37 PM Probably the dumbest thing posted on these boards today.
?
It was a crack at the Wild poster who thought Koivu was just as good as Getzlaf.
Spankatola Jamnuts 02-04-2009, 09:38 PM Probably the dumbest thing posted on these boards today.
No, I think it's good that Getz can play this game against the man everyone's measuring him against. Koivu is what Getzlaf should be.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:40 PM Getzlaf seems to think he's Perry. Falling on the ice.
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 09:41 PM Probably the dumbest thing posted on these boards today.
Canucks fans...
Well actually they are just whiners. I can't tell what's worse, things that make no sense or whiners. I'm going to go with whiners. Just because there is only one smiley face to make fun of them with.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 09:46 PM for what it's worth, the Bruins have lead in the first period like 5 minutes total the last 10 games
Ducks have scored first once in the last 12 games. The Bruins have scored first 6 times in the last 12 games.
Godfather 02-04-2009, 09:49 PM Is this who Ryan is really playing with?
I know he's on the #1pp but his regular shift teammates
Ryan - Marchant - Parros:rant:

He sometimes plays with Morrison/Ebbett and Selanne.
Godfather 02-04-2009, 09:52 PM At least he had some linemates with Teemu out

Welcome back from fantasyland.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 09:54 PM Carlyle's genius is unknown to all but his magic 8 ball.
Paul4587 02-04-2009, 10:03 PM The Ducks looked pretty flat that period.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:03 PM Getz hit, now he's pissed, either goals or dumb penalties forthcoming ...
Cmon Ducks, get moving.
It must suck to be a seat holder in Min - this hockey style is train station boring.
Degenerate191 02-04-2009, 10:04 PM I especially don't get taking Kunitz off the top line. He has finally started to really click with getzlaf and perry, so Carlyle switches it up? Alright. It's like he's screwing with the lines to justify dressing Morrison tomorrow night.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:07 PM RC thinks he is creating confusion.
Most lines will reunite by the end of the game.
Often too late.
Min Scores 2-0 Koivu
Slow Ducks are Dead Ducks
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 10:12 PM The Ducks are playing with no emotions. Where is Scott Niedermayer? Man, do these guys need a cattle prod up their arse to get them going. Lets see some physical play.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:13 PM The Ducks are playing with no emotions. Where is Scott Niedermayer? Man, do these guys need a cattle prod up their arse to get them going. Lets see some physical play.
I agree, do they remember their last game?
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 10:13 PM Carlyle's genius is unknown to all but his magic 8 ball.

Q: Is Carlyle a genius?
A: Outlook not so good.
Paul4587 02-04-2009, 10:17 PM Ducks can't keep playing like they're playing tonight if they are to make the playoffs.
We're still yet to win a game when trailing after 1...

Q: Is Carlyle a genius?
A: Outlook not so good.
Question: Will the Ducks make the playoffs?
Answer: Definately.
hmm
Ducksforcup 02-04-2009, 10:18 PM Ducks playing like crap, while the Wild are playing great.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:18 PM Lots of errors on that PP. Opportunity lost. :(
Getz looks sick - hope that flu isn't spreading.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 10:18 PM Anaheim dodged a bullet there. Miettinen has a glorious chance and Robs the puck. Or suckgasms, whichever you prefer.
Talentless Practise 02-04-2009, 10:19 PM Montador has been by far our best player today. And while he has been good pretty much all season, that's not a good thing.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 10:21 PM Question: Will the Ducks make the playoffs?
Answer: Definately.
hmm
Q:Will the Ducks make the 09 playoffs?
A: Outlook not so good.
edit: bonues Q: Is Mikko Koivu better than Ryan Getzlaf?
A: Definitely.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 10:23 PM Q: Will Rob Niedermayer ever find his heart?
A: Yes
But what does the magic 8 ball know....
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 10:23 PM As if that wasn't obvious. Good job on Scotty right there.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:23 PM Too Many Men Penalty = Our Specialty
Let's score here Ducks!!
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 10:24 PM Longest whistle blow ever?
hockeydemon05 02-04-2009, 10:25 PM Great job by the "first" PP unit.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 10:28 PM Ducks can not score even with a 100 dollar bill in a whorehouse.
Buck Naked 02-04-2009, 10:28 PM Getzlaf looks TERRIBLE.
Paul4587 02-04-2009, 10:29 PM Getzlaf looks drunk.
Getzlaf playing bad = ducks losing.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 10:30 PM Getzlaf got "Morrisonized!"
Buck Naked 02-04-2009, 10:32 PM Quick, Someone punch out a few of Getzlafs teeth.
Buck Naked 02-04-2009, 10:34 PM Yawn, Ducks are sucking and the Wild are boring.
ericnut 02-04-2009, 10:35 PM Getzlaf looks awful.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:35 PM Ducks need purple gatorade or else.
Looks like Getz needs an IV.
Gotta give credit to the Wild for boring their opponents into a zombie-like state.
Talentless Practise 02-04-2009, 10:39 PM Just thinking.. we don't really have any "energy" players. Guys like Upshall, Clutterbuck and the like. We have Moen, Marchant, Rob, Carter, Miller... none of whom i'd describe as an energy player.
Paul4587 02-04-2009, 10:44 PM This game is the cure for insomnia.
Ducksforcup 02-04-2009, 10:46 PM This game is the cure for insomnia.
Your telling me...I am deeply considering turning it off right about now.
ericnut 02-04-2009, 10:49 PM Your telling me...I am deeply considering turning it off right about now.
I almost did when I saw Miller on the first line and Ryan on the fourth.
Talk about a great game! :amazed:
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:52 PM Refs blow one there.
No doubt Zombied as well.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 10:54 PM Ryan, Ebbett, Selanne together ..
good shift.
Bobby Smash 02-04-2009, 11:00 PM typical ducks this season, 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Dirk316 02-04-2009, 11:09 PM wow glad im not home watching this game. That bad?
Paul4587 02-04-2009, 11:10 PM I'd rather watch golf or even soccer than this.
Bobby Smash 02-04-2009, 11:11 PM wow glad im not home watching this game. That bad?
probably the worst-best game they have played this season, if that even makes sence.
Dirk316 02-04-2009, 11:14 PM how does Brookbank look out there?
Dirk316 02-04-2009, 11:15 PM probably the worst-best game they have played this season, if that even makes sence.
with this team i know exactly what this means
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 11:17 PM how does Brookbank look out there?
I stopped watching after the first, but my guess would be "it's hard to tell since Minnesota doesn't attack."
Bobby Smash 02-04-2009, 11:18 PM how does Brookbank look out there?
nothing special, hopefully he'll be better than shane hnidy was last season.
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 11:20 PM how does Brookbank look out there?
Not too bad for 14:30 minutes. Difficult game to make any opinion.
Bobby Smash 02-04-2009, 11:22 PM and that's the game... empty netter to finish it, 3-nil
Mooseduck 02-04-2009, 11:23 PM Ducks lose. 3-0
Good effort Hiller, Kunitz and Hedican.
No heart, energy tonight.
Jerky Leclerc 02-04-2009, 11:25 PM Give credit to the Wild. They played a strong game with good goaltending. Backstrom was unflappable.
Spankatola Jamnuts 02-04-2009, 11:27 PM To the surprise of no one, that game sucked.
Buck Naked 02-04-2009, 11:32 PM Holy ****, how Minny sells out every game with that product on the ice is amazing.
snarktacular 02-04-2009, 11:35 PM Holy ****, how Minny sells out every game with that product on the ice is amazing.
I wonder what else their fans pay money to watch.
Knitting contests?
Phone book recitations?
Competitive snail racing?

it's probably the same reason why anaheim doesnt sell out.
Spankatola Jamnuts 02-05-2009, 12:50 AM it's probably the same reason why anaheim doesnt sell out.
...they don't love hockey...?
Unless you mean that what the Wild do is not hockey, which might be giving you too much credit.

Overall I would have to say the Ducks have the worst fans. Maybe not on HFBoards, but at the games. It's more of a social gathering then a hockey game.
Buck Naked 02-05-2009, 01:15 AM Overall I would have to say the Ducks have the worst fans. Maybe not on HFBoards, but at the games. It's more of a social gathering then a hockey game.
That's Southern California for you.

Agreed i hate going to games unless i get the tickets for free.
jax00 02-05-2009, 02:14 AM I don't think the fans are the worst. Many knowledgeable, smart, and good fans.
It's the energy level of the building that is bad.

That's what I was thinking. When I watched a rangers game earlier this year at MSG, the people had no more an idea what was going on than they do at the pond. They were just much louder, and everyone there was into the game big-time.
hockeydemon05 02-05-2009, 03:01 AM Overall I would have to say the Ducks have the worst fans. Maybe not on HFBoards, but at the games. It's more of a social gathering then a hockey game.
From my limited experience I agree. Last time I went to a game (against SJ) it was great, but every other time I sit near the business suits (they're everywhere) that just talk about well, their boring ass /work for 50 minutes and then leave for the bar before the "line gets too long".
Comments like, isn't Bertuzzi the guy that hit that one guy real hard are about all that is said about Hockey. They don't even cheer when a team scores (Ducks or whoever). Lame...
There are fans, but the people who are full of themselves just kill the atmosphere around them. I try to cheer em out, but damn...no emotion about the game sometimes.
I think they get free tickets from work, and just happen to usually sit near me.
Like you guys couldn't have just done that in Long Beach or somewhere...

I try to save my voice for work. I can't be screaming for three hours and expect to have any energy the next day.

I can tell you that it never gets old to see the home team win and that's what the Wild did last night. ... and when Gaborik is in the lineup it's awesome. He has been one of the league's most exciting players to watch. I was at the game last year when he scored five goals. The building was rocking.
BraveSirRobin 02-05-2009, 02:11 PM I don't think the fans are the worst. Many knowledgeable, smart, and good fans.

I agree. I've been to a few Ducks games when I'm one of a handful of people making noise in my section. And lets not get started on the people who give you dirty looks for, gasp, being loud.
We have quite a few really good fans. We also have quite a few people who are just there because they got free tickets from work and could care less about the game.
SC2008 02-05-2009, 02:17 PM Overall I would have to say the Ducks have the worst fans. Maybe not on HFBoards, but at the games. It's more of a social gathering then a hockey game.
Gotta agree. As a Sharks fan living in LA, I've been to my fair share of Ducks and Kings games.
They were so modest that I actually felt bad cheering so hard for my Sharks, expecting some resistance. Lot of families and people who scored free tix. Its easy to see why Burke left.
At a Kings game you definitely get some passionate fans.
burnlikestars 02-05-2009, 02:38 PM why no GDT for the Preds game?
I was looking forward to coming over hear and reading "Nashville's Gonna Get It!"

Cute girls though... ha!
Buck Naked 02-05-2009, 03:09 PM Souther California is full of pretentious asshats, who are, "too cool" to do something like cheer for a team, unless it's playoffs.

The only thing Nashville will get is an early lead that they will most likely hang on to.
burnlikestars 02-05-2009, 03:58 PM I hope so, we need the points way more than you guys do
Paul4587 02-05-2009, 07:56 PM I hope so, we need the points way more than you guys do
I think we need them just as bad, we're 5 games ahead of most other teams haha.
