This is a rant thread to post your "What's Your Greatest Day" frustrations normally voiced in GDTs.


I am so FRIGGIN' sick and tired of this guy I want to scream at the television EVERY time one of these commercials come on. In fact, I either change the channel, utilize PIP, or simply hit Mute.

I like the Devils commercials.. as well as the single Seton Hall commercial, besides that... its stupid because its broadcasting to rival teams. Oh well.. I don't hate them enough to make a thread about it :)

I do not even get past those 3 opening high hat beats anymore. The second I hear even one of them, the radio gets shut. - the way the Dad exaggerates the phone # in Kars-for-Kids and puts that obnoxious shake in his voice. "Wuuuuunnnnnnn ate sevin sevinn caaaaArs for KIIIIIIDS.... kay ay are ess karss fur KIEEEDS"

- the ****ing insurance plan, I believe Emblem. "The plan that's right for..... *annoying kid voice* MINA!!!!......AY MINA... watch your step! Some trees are not made to be climbed"

- As much as I LOVE Mike Breen's version of the New Yorker commercial or whatever that series is... is as much as I hate Trautwig's... and every time Joe says "the first time I was at the Garden was as a playurrr" I cringe. No reason why

- I'm Brad Benson from Brad Benson Hyundai in South Brunswick, NJ. (Then proceed to attempt to push boundaries by saying unfunny stuff with an occasional desputable word)

I grew up listening to Steve Somers, its all an act with him, hes a good showman. He actually respects the Devils like crazy, especially Dano. He was at Daneyko Night doing his show from the concourse, wearing a Dano jersey.

Yea, but the XM breaks are a lot shorter than terrestrial commercial breaks, and half of the ads are for other Sirius/XM channels. They haven't aired that particular commercial in over a year.

kars for kids is just terrible, they couldhave sprungfor a guy that could sing on key. Those stores were the best and those commercials were incredible. I tried to find the Christmas ad where he had mini-Christmas trees in each hand and he's shaking them violently screaming about Crazy Eddie's prices, as all the ornaments come flying off of the trees and go shooting around the set and into the camera. Good stuff.

They tried a comback about 10 years ago, I think it was Eddie Antar's son or relative. They had a store on Route 46 in Wayne near the Willowbrook mall, but it was tiny and was a shell of the Crazy Eddie stores of the past. I think it lasted a year or two before it went under.

I can't stand the "Greatest Day" commercials. Some of them are really a stretch. They had one with the creapy guy talking about how the Mets acquisition of Johan Santana erased the pain of the 2007 collapse, but he didn't mention anything about the fact that the Mets collapsed again despite the quality pitching of Santana.

I also am annoyed by the fact that he says "we" about every team like he is a die hard fan of every one of the teams in his commercial.

The thing that I can't stand the most is I guess perhaps they don't have the rights to air actual video or film of the events, instead opting for grainy, black & white photos that do none of the stories any justice.

For the George Brett pine tar game, all they did was flash a crappy photo (for half a second) and you really can't figure out what's going on, especially the rage of Brett storming out of the dugout.

Without actual video of this incident, describing Brett's rage and then just showing a photo confuses the person who may not recall or perhaps never heard of this event.
