He should be in the shootout competition, he has rediculous moves. Especially compared to crosby, whose every attempt seems to end with him whacking the puck into the goalie's shin pads.

I still think they should just pick the best players for this event regardless of whether or not they're all-stars. Andrew Cogliano (who is in the young-stars game) might be the fastest skater in the NHL, but who knows if he'll ever get a crack at this. Can we bring back Konstantin Koltsov from the KHL for this? :sarcasm:

But I think Parise will be okay. I've never thought of Carter as a speedster, I'm curious to see how well he'll do in this.

I wish they would return to the days when every team had a skills competition, sans shootout. I remember going in 2004 was it? Anyway, it was fun, the players seemed to like it, and then you KNEW who the fastest skater was, hardest shot, etc...

I gotta go with Madden and Rolston too - Gio is right there, but his speed is more of that first 4 steps burst speed, then he just cruises. Rolston and Madden seem to keep accelerating as they keep their legs moving.

That article was actually pretty interesting. They make the distinction that somebody might have terrific straight line speed, but that might not translate to game situations since you're rarely ever going unimpeded in a straight line.

He's having a breakout season offensively and defensively. He was in a sophomore slump last year and pretty much ended the season on the 4th line. He bulked up over the summer and came back a new player. He's been getting time on the PP and the PK.

He's both. Quick to the puck on the pk, covers shooting and passing lanes, is smart with his stick. He can also burn you offensively with an above average wrister. Him and Zach are like woah
