I thinks it's a no brainer for the Devils to have a co-tennant at the Rock.

There is a discussion about this in full swing in The Rock thread.
And I dont want the Nets taking down a stitch of Devils stuff in a Devils building.
No thank you, I believe a better concert contract would benefit the Rock much, much more.
Ratner made his bed, get Brooklyn done (hah), stay in your dump with your circle jerking Sports Authority buddies or move.
The Devils make a ton of money already and more concerts is the way to go.
Its great walking into an arena and seeing nothing but Devils stuff.

They should........why should the Nets leave Jersey. Stay.

I think it's inevitable that the Nets will end up in Newark, the Brooklyn thing is a complete pipe dream.

Not Necessarily while Brooklyn is dead I can see Ratner selling them to interest out of market and them moving somewhere else. I don't see where is has the motive to sell them to anyone but the highest bidder. I don't know if Vanderbeek's group would be the highest bidder.

I think they will end up out of state.

ive been saying for years now that the Nets wont end up in Brooklyn...the cost of building everything there is going to be mindboggling

I voted yes because I hope so. Not that I am a NBA fan but because it would be a plus for the Devils financially (as long as they do not take on the debt of the Nets).
41 more guarenteed dates at The Rock is a good thing.

I would rather see the Islanders end up in Newark (if they can't fix their Lighthouse situation) than the Nets. The Nets can stay in that crappy arena or fold for all I care.

He could very well do that but I don't think he would, and if did sell it I imagine Vanderbeek would make a very enticing offer, because he knows he needs an NBA team in the worst way.

that'll never happen. I don't understand why people wouldn't want the nets here. Its money in the devils pockets since we own the place.

We don't own anything, the Devils do. I couldn't care less whether they make more money. All I care about is that they ice a competitive team. Bringing in the Nets would make ice conditions crappier. I'd rather them play on good ice. I woul also rather have them not have to deal with all the crap that comes with scheduling together with an NBA team.

No kidding:shakehead

Anyway the more money the devils have the more money they have to spend on the team making them more competitive. Bringing in a second club does nothing bad for the Devils or the arena. And as far as the ice, it was no worse when the Ironmen played here then it is now. A basketball court would most likely have a negligible effect on it.

Can he? While still rich, I imagine he lost a pretty penny in the collapse of LEH

Too late for that, the Seton Hall Pirates play their home games there.

i assume they only sell the lower bowl for those games. How was the crowd. Large/Small.

If it can help secure the Devils financially then there is absolutely no reason not to let them play there.

yep the upper levels were curtained off

the crowd was a very good size...that was undoubtedly helped by Nova being a ranked team and having a HUGE central/north jersey following as many of the alumni are from that area (including myself)

What's with the whining about poor ice surface? Teams like the Capitals, Bruins, Blackhawks, Leafs, etc. don't seem to have many problems with an NBA court "ruining" their ice, lol.

Would I like them to wind up here? Yes
Will they? It's a tossup.

You wont need it, you can get the tickets for 75 cents.
Obviously the NBA is in high demand in our area.
I hope they relocate the Nets to Mexico City.

I think the Nets will either end up in Newark or somewhere out of state, but I'd be shocked beyond belief if they actually end up in Brooklyn.

Personally, I want whatever is best financially for the Devils, which would probably be the Nets moving to Newark.

The only reason I have against them moving in, would be all the "Nets" crap hanging from the ceilings and walls etc.

All the more reason for the Nets to join the Devils in Newark.

While a noble effort and I'm glad they at least tried, most (if not all) of that artwork is horrendously awful.

Aside from the Devils players with no heads I dont get where you are coming from.
Most people I talk to think the murals are pretty damn good.
Although of course nothing compares to the piece of oak tag the NJSEA would hang up on the concourse with "L3Ts G0 Devi1s!" in red crayon though. Remember where we used to play.

The only artwork that I actually liked was the medley of Devils coaches behind the bench. That work seems more professional when compared to the rest. The rest seem amateurishly garish.
