I still haven't made a GDT. I think that I should make the one when Marty makes his triumphant return, since I was the one who injured him in the first place way back in the preseason.

On these occasions it is very acceptable that this team proves me wrong, no matter how the points are earned.

Saw the first three goals and went to bed. Happy they held on for the win. Reading through some of the posts and the closed game thread, it seems like Clemmer has lost his glass slipper. Over the past several games I could see that he was reverting to the goaltender he really is. However, he just needs to hold the fort for a bit longer and maybe Weekes can help out as well.

Clemmer will start Friday and Weekes Saturday. That's a Sutter thing right there, although I would rather it the other way.

Even though i'm a clemmer fan i've always thought the best course would be for each goalie to get equal or near equal playing time. I wouldn't mind seeing Weekes get 2 or 3 starts in a row. Heck it would probably make Clemmer try harder to get his job back. Neither are full time starters so playing them both will also keep them fresh which would be best for the team. I think we saw last week Clemmer starting to get fatigued and had some bad games and some bad goals now i think he's having some trouble shaking that off. Whatever I trust Sutter to make the move he thinks is best for the team.

I think most are giving the face palm because Sean O'Donnel was absolutely awful with the Devils that year.

If we hadn't traded them, we would have lost many of them in the expansion drafts. That was part of it.

But if there's one trade I could have back, it's that one. God, O'Donnell was completely useless that postseason.

Im not sure how many of you watched the game but just to claime my 5 min of fame. I was the guy in the Devils jersey behind the Devils bench...it was a great game and i enjoyed every sec of it...it was amazing seeing all the players and beeing so close...cheers

I can't help but think that with Weekes in the game wouldn't have gotten nearly as interesting in the 3rd. Clemmensen doesn't have it right now. He's given up 3 or more in what, 7 of his last 8? It's time for Weekes to get more playing time, especially since Weekes should've started in Vancouver to begin with. Maybe Shanny can convince Sutter to give Weekes some more playing time. Shanny and Weekes were two of the tighter Rangers.

The move best for the team, especially after LA, would've been to give Kevin another start immediately. Sutter's simply become too comfortable with Clemmer between the pipes. He got hot for a little, so obviously Sutter now views him as the #1, something that Sutter said he never did. However, how can Sutter see Clemmer giving up 3 or 4 for nearly 10 games straight now, including at least a bad goal every game, sometimes 2, and still think that Clemmer is the best choice, when clearly Weekes had a great game earlier this week?

It's as if Sutter sees Weekes game as sheer luck. Weekes has started 2 in the last 16 and has played 9 games this year. The intention for the Devils at the start of the season was to cut Marty down to 70 starts, and from interviews, it even seemed to be the direction Marty was leaning. That meant a possible 12 games for Weekes. However, Weekes is really not getting any more time behind Clemmer than he would've behind Marty. And clearly, Clemmer is no Marty. And oddly enough, I think Weekes is better than Clemmer but Sutter bailed on Weekes early, taking the job away from him after 1 bad game, that was mostly caused by an atrocious Devils defense. Meanwhile, Sutter seemed so intent to repeatedly play Clemmer regardless of the fact that Clemmer lost 2 straight before winning one where the Devils offense bailed him out 6-5. If he seemed so intent on giving Clemmer chance after chance, why is he so hellbent on seemingly not giving Weekes that same chance?

I think your overreacting a bit to one good start from Weekes. As i said I want to see them split time. But neither is any better then the other. MY only guess is that for whatever reason Sutter feels more comfortable with Clemmer. I trust Sutter. Whatever he want to do i'm happy with it.
