This Wednesday myself and my dad (AtTheRock232) will be embarking on a true Devil's HFBoards road trip. (The second post will explain the routing of the trip)

This thread will be a picture dump of whatever we come across. If there is something we are going to be near, please let us know about it! I know this is short notice, but still do it. If there are any players you are interested in hearing about let us know!

We are planning on seeing four games in four days, in three states in three leagues. Also included will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There will food reviews, strange happenings, a lot of cold weather, and some very special guest appearances by some of your favorite HF Devils posters.

Cliff notes at the end.

The road trip will commence Wednesday around 3:00PM EST.

We will be leaving my house in north/central NJ and driving straight out to Cleveland Ohio. We are staying there Wednesday night and going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the better part of Thursday. :yo: Dinner Thursday night will be at the Hard Rock, because not only is that an appropriate dining choice after the R&R HOF, but we have a gift card that has to be used, :naughty:

Friday will be the beginning of the hockey part of the trip. We will be seeing the New Jersey Devils take on the western conference Columbus Blue Jackets. If all goes according to plan this will be including some special guest stars :sarcasm:. After celebrating our win or drowning our sorrows, we will be heading a little more south. Well it's not so much geographically south as it is politically.

This is not without a quick stop in Canton Ohio. We will not be going into the Football Hall of Fame, as there isn't really enough time. Pictures will be taken at the outside of though most likely, and much more importantly we will be stopping for lunch at a Quaker Steak and Lube. With my grandparents being from western Pennsylvania, I can attest to the awesomeness that is the best chicken wings in the world. And where could possibly be better then outside the Football HOF?

Saturday night is back to hockey though, as we will be in Wheeling West Virginia. The Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL will be taking on the Cincinnati Cyclones. This game should be a lot of fun, as the small atmosphere of the smaller games always is for a real big hockey fan. If anyone has interest in any players on either team, let me know! After this game, we will be sampling what the local fair may offer. We have no plans, so again, let me know what you know. I think this might be a night of doing nothing and getting some good rest.

Sunday night continues the hockey trek back towards New Jersey. We will be making our way east through most of Pennsylvania to Hershey. Not only will be stopping for chocolate, but local potato chips, pretzels and ring bologna on the way. I love the weird local things everywhere has to offer. Sunday night will be an amazing opportunity for us Devils fans. Not only will be seeing an AHL contest between the Hershey Bears and the Worcester Sharks, but if the rosters remain similar it will be feature a Mr. Claude Lemieux. I am personally very excited to see this happen.

We will be getting to bed early Sunday night again most likely to be on the road nice and early into Reading, but not for shopping. Okay, maybe a little shopping, but hockey first! Being Martin Luther King Day is an advantage to us two fold, not only are there big sales to be had, but there will be an 11:00AM matinee in the ECHL as the Reading Royals will face off against the Elmira Jackals. Then its off for some quick shopping before the hour or two further home.

--------------------
tl;dr

Wednesday - Drive to Cleveland OH
Thursday - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Friday - Columbus Blue Jackets v. New Jersey Devils
Saturday - Wheeling Nailers v. Cincinnati Cyclones
Sunday - Hershey Bears v. Worcester Sharks
Monday - Reading Royals v. Elmira Jackals

Last time I went the security was VERY lax as far as poking/prodding and they just wanted you to open your coat/purses as you walked past security.

You really should just invest in a composite cowbell to avoid all the drama... :sarcasm:

No Red one? :sarcasm:

I'll be wearing my red "Cowbell" jersey. I wonder if I can bring the cowbell into the arena?

Their arenas secutiry code mentions "No noise makers or any kind" but Prudentials also says "No noisemakers." but only lists whistsles and air horns

http://www.nationwidearena.com/arena/guestservices.php

I'd say give them a call or e-mail.. Tell them your famous at Prudential and you even have your own jumbotron segment :)

I'm in Columbus, it has been snowing ALL day today - the big really fluffy kind of flakes. Not sure how it is up toward Cleveland. It is also supposed to get very cold - high of 8°F on Friday + the wind chill.

Listening to Hitchcock's radio show today... Nash is a possibility for Friday. He is supposed to skate for the full practice tomorrow, then they will make the decision. We are starting to get some of our wounded back. Torres is supposed to be in, Murray and Nash are maybes for Friday.

For the latest info, I suggest looking here: http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/

Hitchcock said today that this will be the hardest home game we've had (at least against the East) all season.

So what should have been a simple seven hour drive turned into a much longer one.

Nothing happened to us, but the traffic was crazy in some parts of PA because of the snow storm and wind. Apparently just because someone can drive a tractor trailer doesn't mean it won't tip over if you go too fast down an ice covered mountain...

We ended up going to a Quaker Steak and Lube today on the highway. We saw "Exit 232" and ended up being hungry... :) We snapped off a few pics but I'm far too tired to get them off the camera, onto Photobucket, etc. until the morning.

Personally I think it's a mistake to think global warming is simply an entire shift in temperature upwards... it actually results in more extreme temperatures in both directions (volatility) so you have hotter summers and colder winters as the balance in weather patterns is thrown out of whack.

I just watched a segment on the glacial melting (stemming from the proposed global warming) and using ice samples they plotted the CO2 levels throughout the past several thousand years on a graph and granted there is a very regular and natural shift in global temperatures (calculated from CO2 levels) that rises and falls across several hundred years. Using purely statistical data points it demonstrated what we are "experiencing" can very easily be explained by this natural cycle that has existed long before we started using fossil fuels and contributing to the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. It also showed nearly a 4x spike in those data points over the past 100 years but still following the same pattern (just a much higher amplitude) so I think we'd be naive to think that we aren't having some impact on the natural cycle.

My take: we should and will get CO2 emissions under control not only in the US but globally (China I'm looking at you) but not before certain "catastrophic events" happen that probably would have happened naturally as well, just not as quickly - thus lending fuel to the debate to people on both sides of the issue.

Sorry Polar Bears - you're gonna need to get your things boxed up and out by 2050. Oh and New Orleans... I wouldn't advise opening a flood insurance business anytime soon (try general contractor instead).

Couldnt disagree more, I think it's one of the biggest scams in the history of mankind (and may end up the biggest). The pillars of the Global Warming science have been collapsing in on these people for the last few years, so they are constantly tinkering with the assumptions about causation and effect (see bolded bit above, which is a relatively new wrinkle). Trouble is, no one wants to point that out publically, but they sure have no problem running ad nauseum 3,481 TV pieces that are pro-GW for some odd reason.

As for the polar bears? Sea ice formation is back to 1979 levels when they began observing it (which is considered a "healthy level"). Why didnt you know about that? Simple, because the media doesnt want you to know. The "sea ice recovery story" should have been MAJOR NEWS last week!!! Especially given all the time and effort spent telling us how we're all going to kill polar bears and the oceans will rise from sea ice melting that "cant be stopped" blah, blah, blah etc....

Funny thing about this too. ABC news did a HUGE BIT on sea ice melting and global warming and drowning polar bears etc........then.......6 hours later? The Arctic Climate Research Center releases this data. Oops.

So here's todays info so far:

We started off heading over to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and right next to it was the Cleveland Brown's Stadium, so went to look at it first.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1439.jpg

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1440.jpg

And then we made our way next door the actual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which I'm sure is a much nicer looking place in the warm. It's literally right on the lake, and you could see ice covering it as forward as you could see.

It's a really impressive looking building. This is the backside of the building.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1427.jpg

And here is the main entrance to the place.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1426.jpg

The main lobby of the RRHOF is pretty much the only place they can allow you to take pictures. It had a bunch of very famous guitars there that didn't come out well because of some crazy reflections. Every main Grateful Dead custom guitars to Kurt Cobain, to Muddy Waters, and about 20 more. There were some really cool cars too.

Roy Orbison owned this Corvette for a number of years.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1438.jpg

And Bruce Springsteen owns this gem. And possibly still does, as it has still valid NJ tags on it, but no license plates.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1428.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1429.jpg

And two motorcycles, both Harley Davidsons, were also featured. The first belonging to Billy Joel, and the second is another Jersey Boy, Jon Bon Jovi. Somehow Billy Joel used to be able keep even a two-wheeler on the road...:sarcasm:

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1432.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1431.jpg

Then we ventured out to the Hard Rock cafe for lunch instead of dinner since we were pretty hungry.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1447.jpg

We got seated at this bright Guns and Roses table...
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1445.jpg

It was in the "Tower City" which is not only an office building group similar to the Gateway in Newark, but a big mall and subway line in the basement. It was really cool to be there. This doesn't really show the size well, but that was a very cool fountain with 'Dancing Water' set to music.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1443.jpg

Part of GuitarMania in Cleveland were these huge guitars all over. Some were really cool, like this Beatles one. Another really cool was from the 3D Artist John Fazzino, but it was in the RRHOF when we couldn't take pictures.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1446.jpg

So now we're back in the hotel room for a little while, and then we're going to venture out into the city of Twinsburg where we are staying to find something small to eat and see whats up in this town. Apparently it doesn't seem like much...

Seriously though even if GW is a lie which i don't know if it is or isn't, atleast it got people thinking about the environment and forced america to start to meet Europe as far pollution standards go. There are always positives.

By the way CB that place looks nice. One day i'll head out to Ohio and see all that stuff.

If you could have only seen the guitars and instruments and lyric sheets in there man... You have to do it one day. I'll probably make an attempt to come back sometime in the future. I think there must have been at least 100 guitars that I'd kill for. Original Les Paul Gibsons, a 1921 Gibson Mandolin, Beatles instruments, drums from the Who and ZZ Top, the Grateful Dead custom guitars... Amazing stuff.

Okay, the guy next to us ordered the "Thurmantor" Burger, 2 12oz burgers, cheese, bacon, etc...this is what it looked like:

My burger (and yes I ate the WHOLE thing): http://inlinethumb27.webshots.com/41242/2158234850063464050S600x600Q85.jpg

Then they also have dollar bills all over the place, so Cowbell and I did one and then we did a group one:

Well I must say it was great meeting Cowbell and Co. on the trip. You all have to be some of the nicest people I've ever met. It must be that good upbringing because both CJ and Cowbell's Dads are super friendly folks. Special thanks for the gifts; now I've got a "Rock your Red" white towel to wave during the playoffs...

CJ was on her best behavior throughout the game and only showed a shade of the cougar during the post-game festivities when an obnoxiously coward jacket fan shouted some drunken "blah blah Devils suck" as he was exiting the bar only to have CJ bolt so fast to the door for a rebuttal that I didn't even notice until Cowbell went running after her to ensure nothing was going to happen.

Some random highlights:
-Section 310 chicken fingers seen in club level between periods. Who brings sandwich bags to a hockey game? I think we now know the answer...
-Lonely usher talking nonstop to one of us 6 during the entire game (nice dude though)
-Superb mastery of "BOOOOOO" by the Ohio fans. I explained this state is home to the Reds, Indians, Browns, and Bengals so they've had plenty of practice...
-BBQ sauce looks just like ketchup at the concession stand 'fixins' bar.
-BBQ is now an acceptable substitute for dipping french fries.
-Rodeos are more important than liquor sales in ohio.
-2 beers is exactly the amount it takes to turn a rookie fan into an Andy Greene fan (Kathy somehow latched on to this affinity for Andy Greene - I wonder why...)
-Columbus fans are wimps. The cannon used to be 100+ db, now it sounds like a firecracker.

More highlights I'm sure from the road trippers when they recover.

Kathy and I had a great time - thanks to all!

And thanks for taking the time to come out with us RG and to Kathy as well! I know it must be a little weird for her to meet people from the internet, lol.

It was a great time to meet you guys for the little I was actually able to, and Columbus overall treated us Devils fans very well. I wouldn't hesitate to come back for a second. Hope to see you guys out east so you can see how a real arena sounds, :handclap:

Cowbell232

So we get to the arena around 6:00 PM and walk around a bit. We had to wait for CJ and RG et al to show up. The arena shares a lot of similar features as the Rock does, and I believe it was designed by the same people.

There's the arena as you see from the street.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1479.jpg

You can see the practice rink from a couple different places inside the arena, including the main concourse.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1480.jpg

They also had some sort of loaned exhibit from the Hall of Fame spotlighting goalies. Some of the old equipment was pretty meager looking even compared to normal sized pads today. Here was the highlight for us, the pads Marty wore during his rookie campaign of 1993-94.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1481.jpg

We met up with the whole group and met by the 'Canon' to take a group shot.

The top row, from left to right:
The one, the only, RG! CJ's Dad is next, then me, my Dad, and then Garett (one of CJs friends from the ESPN Hockey board)

The bottom row, left to right:
Kathy RG's Wife, then CJ, and then Sam, who is Garett's girlfriend.

Garett is from North Dakota, and a big Zach Parise fan, and then Sam is his girlfriend, from Indiana. Extremely nice people and passionate Devils fans.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1486.jpg

Then we ventured down to ice level, and I will load the pictures of the players seperately later if anyone wants. I'm pretty sure CJ has some better shots and I'm sure she'll share them too. Here's me and my Dad on the glass.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1485.jpg

After this point, CJ/RG etc. went into their club seats, while my Dad and I ventured upstairs to our AAA Sky Terrace, were we had All You Can Eat hot dogs, sausages, chicken tenders, pop corn, peanuts, and soda. We got our money worth for sure.

After the game we all joined up at the Blue Jackets pub for a quick drink and some more chit-chat, and I'm very happy to say that it was probably one of the highlights of the trip. RG and Kathy are very down to earth, gracious people and every bit as big-hearted as RGs quick posts with all of our avatars, stories, and photoshops.

And one guy from the door did infact yell that "New Jersey Sucks" and CJ retorted with some not nice things about this gentlemens mother. And as I saw CJ running towards the door I went "Oh sxxt" to RG, and he was confused. There is, in fact, a reason why CJ stands for Crazy Jamie. Nothing came of this though.

Then RG and Kathy parted ways, and we went at Garret's suggestion to the "R Bar" which is a hockey-centric waterig hole a couple blocks from the arena. A very nicely run place with nothing but hockey on the walls. The kind of place we'd kill for around the Rock!

Me and CJ went right for drinks and a quick picture.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1524.jpg

And then we accidentally sat at the bar near the Marty/Nash picture. Seriously, we just turned around it was there. So, someone drunkinly wanted a picture there, and we of course agreed.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1528.jpg

One of the other pieces of memorbilla on the walls is a Halloween jersey from the Columbus Chill - were for one night they became the "Columbus Mad Cows". And then I put two and two together and got five - I was drunk. And pictures of the Mad Cows with a Cowbell ensued.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1525.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1526.jpg

Then while still in the R Bar, some very, very drunk fan of the Blue Jackets yelled at us and CJ replied yet again. Chants came about, and this little short guy got in CJs face. Long story short, CJ didn't like, and may or may not issued another body check. This man, however, was escorted out by security.

Then the not-so-nice comments from another Blue Jackets fan started, and somebody wished a yeast infection about CJ. This guy happened to have a rather large plastic/foam blue hand to hold his beer. It was actually kind of cool, but we were yelling back and forth with them for a bit, and the owner of the bar felt so bad about what happened he bought us drinks called the "Stinger Shot". It was REALLY good. A blue shot dropped in half a glass of Smirov Ice.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1530.jpg

The guy who wished the YI on CJ then felt so bad about it, he explained to us that he was jealous of not really winning often and apparently they don't get many opposing fans in the R Bar. At this point he kept insisting that another round of drinks would be bought on him. So we told him he had to come over and hang out with us. The owner didn't like this idea, but he knew this guy was a good guy and he could tell we weren't really in the fighting mood anymore. He bought us more Stingers and we talked hockey for a bit, and drank to the "Playoffs". Columbus is quickly becoming a hockey town, and a couple winning seasons and they'll be selling out every game for sure.

The funny thing about all of this was the amount of people saying sorry for each other. Ohio: The Sorry State. Every group of people that passed by seemed to say they were sorry for the people before them. It was incredible.

Here is Sam with the guy, Matt, with the blue hand.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1532.jpg

And a group shot with Mike, the owner, and Matt Hand Guy, and all of us.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1531.jpg

Great summary of the evening - glad you had fun after we parted ways. Did anyone "BOOOOO" you at the bar? The crowd seemed overwhelmingly in a BOOOOO mood all night. Perhaps they should change the name of the team to the Columbus Boo Jackets.

I very well might PM him this thread... The guy, Mike (who I think was the owner or at least a manager) was a very, very nice guy. They run a hell of bar there. I hope he might even be able to pass on to Matt that there are no hard feelings and they we all had a fantastic time out in Columbus.

I believe Jeff V said he liked Nationwide Arena the best when he did his tour of all the NHL buildings. So it doesn't surprise me that it shares a lot of similarities with the Rock. It would have been cool to see the practice facility from the concourse, but you know Lou wouldn't stand for that.

Well, its Saturday night and I just saw the Wheeling Nailers go down in OT to the Cinncy Cyclones. It was a fall-down, knock em out, old fashioned hockey game. It was crazy. You can really see the difference between the NHLers and the career minor leaguers. A couple of the players were just leaps and bounds better.

But anyways, here's a recap of whats happened today.

TIMMY HORTONS! What hockey road trip is complete without Tim Hortons? I have no shame...I look like crap in that pic. But in my defense, we had to run out of the hotel this morning because we almost missed checkout because we were out all night... lol

Then we get into Wheeling, WV.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1538.jpg

And we proceed to check into a much, much better hotel. Well, the same chain, but still leaps and bounds above strippers/Waffle House hotel. We then look for some food, and I decided to take us out to a local place that was supposedly really good, called 'Generations'. Anyone that ever is stuck in Wheeling WV, find this pub. Amazing service and food. Absolutely fantastic place on the cheap to boot.

The one special hockey thing in the bar was this, a Guiness green Irish colored Nailers Jersey. We guess for St. Pattys day?

Well, I'm in our hotel room in Hershey PA.

The game today was pretty good, taking a shootout to decide the 3-2 score for the Hershey win. Claude Lemieux, with our luck, was called up to the Sharks this morning. So we didn't see him play.

Some interesting things... Hershey Park is boring in the winter. And they didn't scan the tickets, they ripped off the stubs. They didn't even do that yesterday in the ECHL! Weird.

And someone saw my red Devils skull cap, the one that they gave away a couple weeks ago. They asked us about being Devils fans, and we had a little chat with them. They asked us about where we sit, and we said 232. They, being a nice older gentlemen and his wife, said, "Oh, where the guy with the Cowbell is?" Apparently they sit right below us in Section 3. Then I showed them the jersey, that says Cowbell 232, and he was super excited. I was kind of creeped out.

Pics of todays adventures tomorrow sometime.

To us, it was totally worth it since it wasn't really out of the way. I can't say I'd plan on going to Cleveland solely for the R&R HOF, but I did enjoy it a lot.

If you play an instrument it's even better, as they have so many historic guitars, amps, pianos, etc. that its just unreal.

My dad really enjoyed all the costumes, clothes, and letters/lyric sheets/tour logs, etc. and I really enjoyed all the instruments so it worked great for us.

**** More stories from Hershey can be found in this post. (http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=17428136&postcount=199)

Upon leaving WV, it was time to being our trek back east to New Jersey. The first stop was in Hershey PA. In the interest of getting things we can't easily in NJ, we stopped at a SONIC BURGER. I have no idea how I became so excited about this prospect - maybe the fact I see ads for it all the time and never have seen one before. So, lunch was in order.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1579.jpg
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1601.jpg

The cherry-limeade is everything their commercials make it out to be. I want to go back right now, lol.

Across from the Hershey Bears arena is... Chocolate World.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1580.jpg

We got some different candies that aren't available yet or in our regions and left. The arena there is a pretty new complex, and is very nice. It was good to see a 'Jumbotron' again after WV...

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1581.jpg

This arena had the coolest ad ever. Mostly because Reese's are my favorite candy, but also because it really is all about the cup. Why we don't see these ads on TV during hockey boggles my mind.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1585.jpg

Interesting enough not only did my Dad and I see at least one other Devils fan at each stop, but a RANGERS fan too. Eff the market-share BS, there are Devils fans everywhere - but Rags fans too.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1584.jpg

So we go to our seats and watch the game. This kid was sitting next to us and I had to have a picture of this kid. He was cheering for the Bears, but couldn't really say it right. It was kind of cute. But they had a bear face and a claw!

In previous posts I've explained my possible stalker and the unfortunate happenings of Claude being called up already.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1591.jpg

Some light up thing outside the arena on the way to the parking lot.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1600.jpg

Then it was off to Reading PA, for our 11:00 match up between the Reading Royals and the Elmyira Jackals, which was an other fun ECHL game.

They had even better cowbells then WV! I'm going to go a Trenton game soon to get a Devils one I guess, lol.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1628.jpg

The Royals came out of this giant helmet, which is a nice touch for such a small team. They get treated very well in the ECHL by their fans. It's much more loyal then the NHL. The hockey knowledge of a lot of the fans left something to be desired though.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1611.jpg

And now a shot from our seats. The great thing about the ECHL is for like 25 bucks you get front row seats!
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1622.jpg

And off to the Reading Outlets we went for some shopping... and then it was home and the road trip had ended.
http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/Cowbell232/January%202009/DSCF1629.jpg

All in all it was one thousand, three hundred, sixty eight and four tenths miles.
Four hockey games, one Hall of Fame, and many new friends and stories.

Don't know about White Rose or Diamond, but White Manna starts with beef ground fresh every morning, never frozen, and 100% cooked to order. I suspect Rose and Diamond are the same.

Man, they opened a Fuddruckers in the Thruway stop nearest my house up here. I practially drove off the road when I saw the sign and couldn't wait to get inside, with fond memories of my trip to one in Buffalo many years ago.

What I saw inside was not Fuddruckers. It was some lame fast-food version, and it wasn't even close.

And to top it all off, not that this was their fault, but this really big dude at another table was actually eating a side cup of... mayonnaise.

Well if that's what they've become that sucks. The one we have here in Dayton is a full blown sit down family style place with a huge fixin's bar.

Side question: best southwestern/mexican burrito joint?

- Chipotle
- Qdoba (Z-teca)
- Moes Southwest Grill
- Baja Fresh

Chipotle.

Eating it right now. I could seriously eat there for lunch every day. So many combos of delish food.

Chicken bowl right now with green chili salsa, pico, cheese, lettuce, black beans.

at least I didn't mention the barbacoa... man that beef is the best! so tender and juicy with those slow roasted seasonings - perfect with some of the fajita veggies.

oh... sorry.

ha, and I live a mile on route 1 in the opposite direction.

I actually have only ate their once. I have a Baja fresh closer to me, and I like that place a lot.

But yea RG, the Fuddruckers near me is a sitdown/ fixings bar. They serve beer too! Although I question those keg lines

I do Chipotle at least once a week too. Such good food. If you like good Mexican RG, you really need to come down a food tour of NJ with me. I promise you'll gain ten pounds... lol

Yeaaaaaah... that's JUST what I need after struggling all summer to shed 15... do you realize what a diet of salad and whiskey will do to your digestive system? I don't like running... both outside and on the toilet. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-toilet15.gif

Chipotle is the bomb. I go there with my co-workers about once a week. *** heaven. But if you're looking for great Mexican in Jersey nothing is better and cheaper than Jose Tejas. If you don't know about this place, you either a)don't eat Mexican or b)aren't from North Jersey

The greatest place is Ikko in the Brick Plaza, best hibachi ever, byob. I got bombed there the night of the 8-5 Devils/Rangers game, quite possibly a perfect evening.
