Quinn needs to get the team reeled in, they are loosing focus! Subban needs to RELAX and not fuel the fire with his reaction. Canada looked much better in the first period, dumping the puck in and playing a solid forecheck. The second they got caught up worrying about the extracurricular stuff and they better get back to playing the hockey they did in the 1st!

I dont remember exactly, I mean it was a live interview, but he said that the refs informed all players before the tournament that the goalkeepers can't be touched, and that it seems like they totally forgotten that today. One kneeing on Markström, one open ice hit, and another dirty piece... One pen, what a joke. That guy who did the open ice hit on the gk wouldn't have played any more in this game if it was a SEL game, thats for sure.

I think this is the last game this russian ref does for the IIHF, talk about lack of professionalism, i know how sensitive things are with goaltenders so how do you call 4 straight against one team, and then a player comes in 40 ft. after the whistle is called just to tip the other teams netminder over and make no call, this game honestly looks like he's in it for personal reasons, honestly why not bring in a german, czech, slovak referee in this one, most ref's i dont care what country they're from would carry a professional attitude but this guy is just embarassing himself infront of the world here.

Sweden needs more traffic and more point shots if they're going to have any chance.

If so...fine....give Espo a 2 minute but you have to give Markstrom a 2 as well for diving....You just can't believe that everytime it was as bad as it looked like....see how Tokarski fell....Maybe Markstrom should take a course at how to fall down without embarrasing the game itself...

It's so typical with Canadians, with the Dive talk. Markström did enforce the fall on the first occation but after that he's been run over several times. The fact that you aren't even defending it, and instead attacking Markström as a diver it's just sad. Are there more one-eyed fans?

Sweden has to step up, they aren't playing good hockey. Canada is.

1) Sorry but the Swedes did not run anyone. Tavares shoved the guy into the goalie.

Yeah the Swiss and Russian refs, who have given out more penalties to Canada than to Sweden, are on Canada's side.

Use some logic for God's sake. If this were in the NHL, as someone asked, Markstrom would've gotten at least an extra diving and unsportsmanlike, and probably called out by his coach for embarrassing his team/country after it's all over.

As for "if this were in the SEL he would've been kicked out of the game" - guess what...

IMO, Hodgson is the best player of the tournament, damn he is good.

how can one not like a guy like Hodgson. Just wow. Great two-way game IMO.

He is something special. At the right places at the right times, composed, very intelligent and just never gives up on the play. Great on the boards, in the circle, and has great offensive instincts.

In my opinion, he is the MVP of this tournament, ahead of Tavares - in terms of a complete game. Of course Tavares is a better goalscorer, and also has even better offensive instincts, but Hodgson is just so complete - 1st PP, 1st PK, top 5v5 line (Barring, of course, the JVR-Wilson-JS line, if they were still in the tournament, they would be right up there).

And of course, Eberle is also another special one. He has even slicker hands, a little more agility, and possibly more offense than Hodgson, but loses out in the faceoff (winger) and the boardwork department. But he's right up there. Boychuk would be too, if he isn't playing hurt. You can see that he's not playing as explosively as he could be, and that's one reason why the Boychuk-Hodgson-Eberle line is not even more effective than it is now.

Goalie running? Della Rovere DID run him but that was the only real one. All the "others" were great pieces of acting by Divestrom.

Hedman is stupid, if he hadn't "stood up" for his goalie, his team would have had a 5 on 3 of 2 minutes. Really smart guy. Make them pay where that counts, on the score sheet.

Then why was it a 5 on 4? It should have been a 4 on 3.
