It'll be interesting to see what kind of effort we get from the Russians, as they are obviously disappointed to be playing in this game.

Janus is going to need to be huge. I like both teams but still, can't help but cheer for the underdog. I think Russia wins 4-2.

Can Janus pull another rabbit out of his hat? This game comes down to him for the Slovaks.

I think we'll win, but even if we loose, I don't care much about this one.

I'm skipping out of work early to catch this game as a warm up before the gold medal game. I'm kind of torn as to what I want for the outcome though. Russia came so close in the semi-final that it would be a shame for them to go home empty handed, but at the same time Slovakia has played so well and forced their way into a medal game that they weren't expected to be in, it would be a shame for them not to medal either.

I guess I will just hope for a good game, with both teams playing hard.

Klyukin is the real deal. PS- Russia is gonna take what BELONGS to them. even the Bronze medal is the medal ! everyone who put national shirt on have to play everytime like he will do this last time!!! Huge game for Tomáš Tatar (and Slovakia in general). Could push his stock that much further if he's able to dominate like he has.

gare joyce had a nice bit about him, saying he thought he was one of russia's better and most reliable forwards (i agree). joyce asked an nhl scout how he was passed over in two drafts. the scout showed him the entire work-up he had on klyukin and it was, "good two-way center." that was it. the scout explained that there was no point in doing a more intensive work-up on him. "Unless a Russian has first-line upside we're just not that interested. And even if he does, we go at it pretty cautiously."

amazing stuff. too bad. no idea what klyukin's intentions/desires are, but if he wants to play in the nhl, it's hard to believe he couldnt be an effective checking center in the nhl. tho, i would say the same thing about taratukhin, who actually did come over for a year, but he wasnt willing to wait for who knows how long in the ahl while he could be making millions and living with his wife and small child in his homeland. can you blame him?

Read an interview with Slovak Captain Marek Mertel last night. He said the team would use every last bit of energy left to try and win bronze.

Exactly ten years ago was Slovakia's first bronze medal game in this tournament. Eighteen year old Ladislav Nagy scored three goals against Sweden and the Sedin twins giving Slovakia the medal. Would like to see Richard Panik or Tomas Tatar repeat that performance today.

We've heard that so many times now. Finland will win with ease. USA will win with ease. Sweden will win with ease.

I'd say Slovakia win 4-2. I think Russia is a little broken from how the Canada game ended and the way Slovakia has played the recently, I think they have a real good shot at winning. Especially if Janus can muster up another great game.

Don't pull that line, Canada worked their ***** off all game, never gave up and persevered even in what was not their best game. The Russians couldn't handle the pressure and as a result are playing in the game that they should be.

Would love to see Slovakia pull off another upset and grab the bronze, going to be very tough though. In the end the Russians are just too strong and they play for pride and win a medal.

Russia is the better team but the bronze probably means more to the Slovaks.

Result will depend on how much Russia wants it. If Russia views bronze as a good consolation prize, and they play hard, to their potential, they will win. If the Russians are still down following the loss to Canada, and they view this as a throw-away game (like we've seen from Canada and the U.S. in the past), then the Slovaks will win.

You know what this win would mean to Slovakia. We don't know what it would mean to Russia.

There's also the Janus factor. He's capable of stealing a game. He's done it against a powerful American team, and he nearly did it against Sweden.

Russia throttled Slovakia 8-1 in the round-robin, so Slovakia will have that in their minds, too. Of course, Janus wasn't the starter in that round-robin game.

It should be yet another great game in this tournament. Remaining neutral in this one.

I read the original post, thanks. I wasn't asking you or anyone else for a link to a feed. I've been watching the Slovakian feed from the start because the adthe feed in the OP doesn't work for me. When the poster I replied to posted their link, I tried it to see if it might be the TSN feed, in English, my primary language. When I saw it didn't work, I figured I'd let them know, in case it was their site and they had the ability to fix it.

I can't believe how much Slovakia has been underestimated the whole tournament until they met the USA. They actually have a really solid team that competes every game. If Janus plays the way he has been playing and a full team effort comes forth for Slovakia there gunna win this game.

For many people Torino 2006 was as important as for instanse spengler cup or moscow chanel one cup (e g i didnt watched single game in 2006 olimpics only final highlights 1 year later).
