Hedman is much better defensively, and when he wants to is just as good if not better offensively.
He also is a lot bigger.

Subban was pretty good defensively but today he was brutual I thought. He was good in OT and tried to take a risk to win the game. Fortunately, we didn't get scored on the other way.

You're joking right?

Hedman = Pronger
Subban = Jovanovski

And that's the generous comparison.

What he said.

He also is a lot bigger.

So, seems like Hedman doesn't like the physical game all that much. Makes me wonder if he has a mean streak and if he does, does he go around and level people.

Hedman is the better prospect. Right now they are both good players for their respective teams.

Subban is more like Campbell.

Hedman probably doesnt try to do a spin-o-rama at the blueline while being the last man back 10 times per game

Hedman is obviously the better of the two, but I have to say Subban has greatly exceeded my expectations of him. Hes a good skater, good hands with a big shot. He looks like a more skilled Souray to me.

great draft pick by the Habs.

I think PK has been frustrating. Exciting one minute and then braindead the next.

Hedman, and this comparison will be sha-lacked bad.

Hedman does not have Prongers vision, toughness.

Yes Hedman>Subban...

Subban's been better this tournament. But overall I'd say Hedman.

Although I'm still a big fan of PK Subban and he's been Canada's best blueliner in my mind.

Subban will be a fan favourite with his style of play that will put people "on the edge of theirs seats".

Subban has surprised me alot and he probably has been the better this tournament. Overall though Hedman is still the better player without a doubt.

You're the guy who started that idiotic thread after the Bruins lost today and now this?! You are just embarassing the Habs fan base with posts like this.

Mike Green seems like a good comparison for Subban, any Habs fan would be beyond ecstatic with that.

I don;t know how to answer this. The only time i have seen either of them play has been in this tournament. I have been more impressed with Subban, but i also realize the Hedman hype must be valid.

My vote goes to Hedman. For a guy that is 6' 6", he sure can skate and dangle.

Pronger had ZERO vision until his fourth or fifth season in the league....watch film from his early years...he was a disaster on skates

hey hey, I was just playing around. Subban has completely changed my views on him this tournament. My only knocks against him are that is gets very risky with the puck sometimes, doesn't play safe enough and I didn't like in the OT of the Russia semi's game I think he tried to do too much (shot instead of passing on his great breaks into the zone). However, Hedman SHOULD clearly be the easy choice here.

Maybe im just reacting cause I read posts in the GDT saying, "This kid is brutal" when a day ago they were saying "Subban is awseome!" like so stupid..

Subban = Jovanovski? seriously thats the farthest comparison you could come up with for Subban. Subban and Neidnermayer is a closer comparison. Obviolusly Subban wont be as good as Scott but he plays the same game as him.

And Hedman is obviously alot better than Subban, pointless thread.

Well obviously, since he's 8 inches taller.:sarcasm:

Subban has definitely outperformed Hedman in this tournament but it's difficult to compare them since Hedman is quite a bit younger.

I think a better question, if you want to compare blue-lines for the Gold Medal game, would be Subban versus Erik Karlsson, although again Karlsson is younger.

I think it's kinda tough to judge Hedman by his performances in this tourmanent as he's not having an offensive role, which he needs to shine. He has played with offensive d-men such as Karlsson and Rundblad... Hedman is on his best when he can use his offensive skills.

We'll see Monday. But I think Subban's been Canada's best D.

Hedman of course, Subban can make some good plays, yet at other times his stupid "spin-o-rama" ends up in an odd man rush going the other way when he could have easily just dumped it in. Hedman is much better in his own zone, and can be electrifying in the offensive zone aswell, but he hasn't been at this tournament (so far). Subban has been better than Hedman offensively in this tournament, but the better overall player is for sure Hedman.

I LOVE IT!

IMO hedman is more talented but PK just seems to have that extra somthing.

Did you see russians try to check him and bounce off?

That's hedmans only weakness... he doesn't like the hitting. PK seems to thrive on it. Also love the leadership aspect that's grown into his game:yo:

Hedman. Subban has the tools to be very very good but he doesn't have the hockey sense. Hedman is the real deal.

Quinn seems to be putting alot of faith in Subban's "run and gun" style, and I think that based on PK's play in this tournament he deserves it.

Hedman by a mile obviously, but I think this tournament proved that Subban has come along way from his "raw talent" days at the draft and his role as a benchwarmer in last year's tourney.

Brian Campbell is a pretty good comparison for Subban's upside IMO...same deficiencies defensively, but a 7+ mil contract goes to show that there's some merit to playing such an uptempo style in today's game

Hedman even if we're looking at the tournament.

It's a stupid thread because Subban is still a very good defenseman.

when he wants to? To me when you say that brings him down a notch, I might be alone thinking that. But i agree 100% Hedman is the better, even though he has not played his best hockey yet. I'm sure will see it in the gold medal game.
