Who was the best player for both teams (not including the goaltenders ofcourse)?

Sweden
MSP, who, even though not registring any points, put up a (IMO) dominating performance. It's too bad he didn't score on his multiple scoring oportunities. Runner up for Swedish MVP was, i think, Tedenby.

Slovaika
The goalie, who "stood" on his head a couple times during the game.

call it whining and dining but sadly you are aperently not able to look at it from european perspective. if canada goes to the final. what will happen to the oponents lockerroom or hotel ....we´ll see.

religious fanatics?

it has been so for ever its not whining... it s sad

That is so awesome that a thread involving Slovakia went past the limit. :) People are talking about Slovak hockey thanks to those young men.

i prefer tim erixon over rundblad. erixon seems to be almost equal on offense, but with a better defense.

speaking of erixon, sebastian is often out of positon. ekbom has to save him a lot. i would switch both erixons in the final maybe.

Errr S.Erixon (nr 3) played with Erik Karlsson not Ekbom. Torp (nr 6) played with Ekbom.

This was a great game. Loved every minute of it. That Tedenbymove was absolutely the highlight of the tournament so far. Great effort by both swedes and slovaks. The best game of the tournament imo, that in mind I didnt see USA - Canada.

However the reffing was AWFUL. Cant really remember when I saw anything remotely this bad.

damn you're right. i just always realized #3 when he did something bad. the 2nd goal was mainly him when he decided to skate back instead of attacking. he hesitates a lot and that usually not a good thing for a D.

ekbom had to backup torp sometimes. i just wondered why ekbom played extremely defensively.

Sebastians weakness is his size, or atleast his lack of a physical game. If he could play a bit more tough he would be a good player (by SEL-standards). Basically he needs to get stronger.

Why does TSN list Karlsson as having only 1A? Seems to me he should have 3.

Or do they only count primary assists?

I must say that I extremely impressed with Tatar and Janus on Slovakia. I think these kids are absolutely dynamite. Tatar has a deep hunger in him and has a great shot with great vision. Janus makes a ton of big saves and seems like a solid netminder. Would love to see them in blue and white.

Agree absolutely. 2nd goal was a big mistake by S.Erixon. What was he doing is a mystery. He only forgot to put a red carpet and say welcome mr Tatar.
