None Shall Pass

VS

http://www.foodpoisonblog.com/turkey(1).jpg

A turkey

Per Gulitti:
Coming into this annual match-up, None Shall Pass is boastful.

"If I'm not passed out drunk and full by 11:30PM, I've failed," you joked.

But he needs to be a little more wary. This year's bird is estimated at 18lbs.

"(Inexplicable gobbles)," the bird exclaimed.

None Shall Pass has an 17-1-1 record on Thanksgiving. The bird has always fared much worse.

Projected Line-ups:
NSP:

Beer-None Shall Pass-Football
Salt-Pepper-Napkin

Spoon-Fork

Clemmer

Turkey:

Stuffing-Turkey-Mashed potatoes
Cranberry Sauce-Bread-Asparagus

Gravy-Butter

Plate

Happy Thanksgiving!

How in the world is cranberry sauce supposed to prove himself only getting 4 minutes of attention a game? It's a disgrace and the coach should be fired for not properly managing the talent. All we hear all season is how good cranberry sauce is and when he's finally in the lineup yet we don't see squat.

Cranberry should be out there quarterbacking the PP and setting up green bean casserole it stuffing it to the back of the belly.

I bet cranberry will not even be here next season after this game... I wouldn't if I were treated like this in a contract year...:shakehead

Overall the game is shaping up like this: Came out flying on the first helping, stumbled out of the gate on the 2nd, and now heading into the third I predict it gets ugly quick. I look for coach to put them on the bikes after the game as punishment and have a hard morning session tomorrow before heading on to Leftovers for Sat's game.

In the many years I've been following meals of all kinds, I am absolutely amazed that no one is talking about the versatility of Napkin. Napkin can be used on the side, on the lap, and provided it's clean and nicely folded, as a makeshift finishing touch on a nice suit jacket. Napkin has come in many kinds over the years and is always willing to get into the corners and in the slot to clean up the dirty work for many, most of all, Mouth.

Mouth is great, don't get me wrong. Hall of famer in the making, all the way. But Mouth can't get it done all alone. Eating is a team effort and accessories like Napkin are an asset that this organization must respect. No, Napkin will never command the high salary like Fork or Glass; or get the praise like Spoon. But Napkin is as much of the core as anything else, and it's time the fans recognize that as well.

Next post, I'd like to discuss a prospect in the system - Toothpick. While not big, Toothpick will prove itself to be quite useful in a number of situations, from poking the food to agitating others.

Game Notes:

Surprise scratch: Homemade Mac and Cheese instead of Mashed Taters. Was, overall, a -3.

Three stars:
1. Dos Equis: 6 or 7, uh...Dos Equis.
2. Turkey: Soft, moist, delicious.
3. Me: Passed out at 8:30 in front of TV

Caramelized onions played fine, brussel sprouts were a little weak, bread was poppyseed (Niceeee), stuffing had sausage in it (Niceeeee). Lots of pies. There were 12 pies. Football sucked today.

I defeated half a bottle of vodka after the six pack. My literacy in the face of alcohol is astounding.

OTOH, football defeated me. That might have been the crappiest thanksgiving football day ever, and that says alot. And the musical performances... just don't.

sweet potatos is quietly becoming my favorite part of the thanksgiving team

I was incredibly disappointed with sweet potatoes performance in last nights game.

I was expecting Marsh Mellow to be playing one wing, with Cinnamon Brownsugar to be playing the other. Cinnamon Brownsugar was in the lineup, but Marsh Mellow was out. Apple slices where in, in some weird line switching amazingly akin to what Brent Sutter himself does to the Devils.

While not completely throwing the game, I was left wanting more. And most likely will see a return of the Marsh Mellow in the very near future, on Sweet Potatoes line of course.

Todd: Hey Griswold. Where do you think you're gonna put a tree that big?
Clark: Bend over and I'll show you.
Todd: You've got a lot of nerve talking to me like that Griswold.
Clark: I wasn't talking to you.

Clark: Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?
Eddie: Naw, I'm doing just fine, Clark.

Ellen: What are you looking at?
Clark: Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an ******* in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer...

Clark: Hey, Kids, I heard on the news that an airline pilot spotted Santa's sleigh on it's way in from New York City.
Eddie: [after a pause] You serious, Clark?

For Thanksgiving I had a microwaved Filet fish tv dinner for lunch. Some johnsonville brats with hashbrowns, corn and edame for dinner.

btw, some people in Florida apparently have no idea who Oduya is...

David Okuya's goal with 55.5 seconds left in overtime gave the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 victory at the BankAtlantic Center. But the Panthers' two goals in the dying minutes of regulation enabled them to salvage a point in the standings that didn't even appear feasible for most of the evening.

I'm sad to say that a lot of people at my school (UBuffalo) wouldn't know what you were talking about. I'm watching that with like 50 people on a big screen projector in my lounge this year, since so many people have yet to see the greatest xmas movie ever.

Sweet potatoes last night played amazing for me.

He had the marshmellow and cinnamon on his wings and man did he perform. When anything i tried had a bad taste in my mouth, i would just put the sweet potatoes in and he'd take em out. Even for dessert i had pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes. He was very clutch tonight. For me at least.

I like to cook my sweet potato directly in the oven like baked potatos. It was tradition in Taiwan to cook them in a brick oven til the skin was blackened and eat them as a snack. The sweet potatoes were slightly different in Taiwan though, yellow instead of the red flesh.

I dunno why people put brown sugar on something thats already sweet, it makes it sickening sometimes.

I dunno, sometimes too sweet is bad. Like the time I had the ice cream from Hagen daz. It was Double fudge swirl chocolate ice cream with hot fudge on top and chunk chocolate sprinkles.

I watch that movie every year while I wrap presents... it's the perfect wrapping companion (that and a stiff drink). The final present usually looks like a 3rd grader tried to wrap it thanks to the CC & ginger ales. I still laugh my butt off each time he says "you couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin factory"
