Just posting a PGT to replace the GDT, whose demise I contributed greatly to.

good game tonight
Harrison Ford 11-27-2008, 01:04 AM im guilty too.
Gunnar Stahl 30 11-27-2008, 01:05 AM johnny o needs to shoot the puck more. late in the 3rd he waited too long and hit the post but had nothing to shoot at
Das Uber 11-27-2008, 01:06 AM The Florida feed showed video of the Panthers locker room during the intermissions. No audio or anything, they just cut to what seemed like a security camera mounted in a corner. I don't know why they'd do that though. What if a player was walking around nude?

Classic Devil 11-27-2008, 01:10 AM On today's game:
Sutter better have the team riding the bikes or something. You play all 60 minutes or you go home with a loss and we nearly cost ourselves a point tonight.
Bright side - Zajac's goal was pretty, Oduya's goal was very Oduya-like, and we scored on the powerplay.

he made up for it in OT. :handclap:

At least in TG's write-up, he didn't seem that ticked off. Maybe he's saving the whip for later. Only so many times you can do it.

that pp goal was a fluke, im pretty sure there was like 5 seconds left and we had, oduya, leach, rupp gionta and someone else on the ice if im not mistaken

the team got very lazy which was scary. If Florida had shown up themselves for more then 5 minutes in the third then we would have really been in trouble. This game reminded me too much of Julien era games where we would get a lead early then just sit back and see if we could hold on. Those aren't fun.
And adding to CDs brightsides Jay Pandolfo probably played his best game of the year. He was very good on the 5-3 and many other PKs during the third and OT. It was very nice to see. Almost like he deserved a fraction of that contract we gave him.

he waited too long there too, the puck fell off his stick and he realized he needed to get the shot off or sutter was going to jam the stick up his ass sideways and happened to get lucky

you have to be good to have luck and vice versa. he shot. he scored. we won. fine by me, luck or not.
guyincognito 11-27-2008, 01:19 AM I'm not happy with the picture. I wanted something monsterous.

that would be true if it were parise, but oduya will probably end up with like 5-7goals this year. he held the puck too long again, he held it too long at the end of the 3rd too. its obvious he looks to pass first and if no seam opens, he doesnt pull the trigger until nearly too late

Yeah, I agree with that. Pandolfo had that PK in the middle of the third after Salvador took that stupid penalty, he was phenomenal on the PK, as good as he's ever been. That's the guy we need.
I still think he should be playing on the fourth line with Holik when Bobby gets back, though.

i'm with you on that. WE really only need him on the PK. He doesn't bring anything else offensively and him and Holik would still be killer defensively.
britdevil 11-27-2008, 04:33 AM Didn't see the game so cant judge. By reading the GDT I could tell you guys went from being on Cloud 9 to Baghdad in the space of 20 minutes. Pretty funny.
Good to see Johnny and Travis have good games, and great to hear Pando was a beast on the PK. I agree with the guys who said he should still play with Bobby when he is back.
Elias - Zubrus - Gionta
Parise - Zajac - Langenbrunner
Rolston - Madden - Clarkson
Pandolfo - Holik - Rupp
Salvador - Martin
White - Oduya
Salmela - Greene/Mottau
Clemmer
Weeksie
PS, Harrison and co. You guys are ate up. :biglaugh:
Devilswede 11-27-2008, 06:56 AM The Devils started off amazingly, they were completely dominant. I mean, they had..what..a 21-7 shot advantage. And they still managed to get outshot at the end of the game?! There are no excuses for that.
They played a really crappy game except for the first period. They really didn't deserve to win, but they still did. I guess that's a good sign, because good teams find ways to win anyway even after playing poorly.
The Devils must do a much better job on Saturday against the Pens or they'll be ****ed.
MissedMyExit 11-27-2008, 07:59 AM A goal, an assist and a skate save. What a night - Johhnie is overduya for a raise.
yakitate304 11-27-2008, 08:11 AM I was absolutely furious. I was watching the game with my parents, and at the 4 minute mark in the 3rd I said "we need to get a goal here because Florida's going to score late and then we're going to be scrambling to beat the buzzer". Then when they scored their first goal I said something like "you know we're going to let them score in the last 5 seconds or something".
Ugh. This is the type of game that pisses me off the most, besides from losing to a rival. We got so lazy towards the middle of the game and stuck with it for the third period as well. In the first we were winning almost all of the battles because we were MOVING OUR FEET rather than watching the puck.
cj225 11-27-2008, 11:26 AM BTW - I have JBou in a couple of my fantasy leagues. I benched him tonight and he finally scores a goal...

Brooklyndevil 11-27-2008, 03:08 PM A win is a win and the streak is alive, but I must admit I was a little disappointed in the Devils third period. Let's hope they play a full 60 minutes in Pittsburgh. And I'm really starting to enjoy the play of both Zajac and Oduya.
Game Breaker 11-27-2008, 09:39 PM Since the GDT went down faster than Amelia Earhart's plane, I wanted to say that Pandolfo finally broke out. He played absolutely terrific and I want him to keep it up. He has been nothing but a disappointment this season thus far, but last night he played great. Keep it up Jay!

They both are playing real good and gaining confidence now, I think their development was a season behind schedule, and Lou probably thought they would both be playing this way last season already, thats why he let Raffi/Blomex walk when they did.

Exactly. A fluke goal was all that kept this team from a potential disaster.....again. I dont know what it is, lack of killer instinct, lack of focus........ it's going to bite them in the azz if they dont fix it though.
