If the Elias line can cycle the puck like they did against the Islanders that means we'll have 2 strong lines to watch out for. I'm just scarred about our checking line... we had guys like Madden, Pandolfo and Brylin that were supposed to be one of the best shutdown lines in hockey and got manhandle by Vinny, Marty and Vaclav.

In 7 years I have not missed a Devils game. Since the inception of NHL Center Ice, I have watched every game, whether it be taped or live. I'm very proud of my ironman streak.

Baseboll is not even a sport....I just don't get how that game has become so big over there. Here in Sweden baseball is only played when people are drunk and want to look ridiculous...or when kids are playing it during gym classes from the ages 9-13.

Some people complain about trapping, defensive hockey...but they somehow still watch football? Nothing ever happens in that game. Takes years to complete a play too. I'd go nuts watching that. Thank God we don't have it over here.

NFL has 16 games, and the Giants are playing a good Arizona team this week so it should be fun.

I guess you haven't followed the MLS but the Red Bull run to the finals is a Cinderella story, its a shame it hasn't gotten any press. Their last game was more exciting then any Devils game I can remember since Ottawa in the playoffs a few years ago.

Weekes has been anything but sturdy in nets. Clemmensen looks much more comfortable and relaxed while playing. I actually trust him more.

I played little league and hockey from age 7 on. I was one of the few kids who was saved from the soccer movement. :nod:

The only softy last game from the outside sounds as if it was tipped.

we hvae to score one more goal than if marty was in net, if not more. definitley one because clemmer and weekes have given up atleast 1 goal in every game they have played (maybe not clemmers last game). marty usually steals like 2 that should have been in the net.

Nothing wrong with Bolts. They are called that everywhere from newspapers to TV to the internet. I see nothing wrong with it. "Devs" isnt really a nickname IMO...its just an abbreviation. A nickname should be something different then the actual name.

I've actually just recently started to appreciate the NBA a lot more. I find i was biased against it simply because its gets the lime light that i thought should be going to the NHL but a good NBA game is a good game. I will watch any sport if the game itself is meaningful and/or exciting which in the NBA doesn't happen until the end of the year and the playoffs. Baseball can be taxing to watch if its a slow game but everyonce and a while there are good games, case in point the Yankees vs Boston rivalry and the series when the bosox came back from the 3-0 deficit. And as far as american football is concerned its the most viewer freindly game on TV because you have time before a play and after to explain to everyone that doesn't understand the game what exactly it is that each team is trying to achieve. Hockey is the opposite in that something will happen so fast that there is no explanation as to why, it just is. If you don't understand how the game is played there can be no appreciation for what transpired. Thats why so many people who don't watch the sport will call it boring because so much happens in such a short amount of time they can't comprehend it thusly they say nothing happens and call it boring.

And what are the chances they will actually be free agents come that time? I don't follow the NBA so I really don't know how things work there; however, I lost count of the number of times on here we looked at potential free agent classes a year or two down the road that never come about because the teams end up locking up the players before they become free agents. I would assume something similar happens in the NBA. I can;t imagine most of hose teams won't make attempts at re-signing those players before they reach FA.

It reminds me of the A-Line the way they all know exactly where the others are at nearly all times in the other zone. Elias is Elias, Zubrus is a non-goalscoring Arnott player when he plays with an edge, and Gio is a shifty winger like Sykora except with a better defensive and gritty game.

I agree. He's starting to fake the wraparound now, which somehow ends up being effective.

I think "stronger than the standard he set for himself earlier on in the season" is a bit more accurate.

He's been less sloppy but his skating is still mediocre at best right now.
