They should have done the food drive this past Saturday or on Friday night vs NYI, more people at those games than the Florida game.

I actually find the smaller crowd games to have louder crowds, the people that are there are real die-hards and make a lot of noise instead of sitting back.

What's the deal with that?

I was anti-Targum solely because it was like the Tweak's Coffee vs. Harbucks scenario. But that doesn't mean I want it to go. It provides a great outlet for RU journalism majors, and writers of varying degrees.

It has something to do with the Univ. Senate making it an option for students to not want to pay the 9 bucks or so on their term bill which could cut their funding - seeing that 1/3 of all their budget comes from tuition and whatnot.

I just quickly breezed through the story today while at work and it seemed like another side step by the head folks at Rutgers who are dodging the real problem - rising tuition costs, run-down facilities, and a horrible course offering.

If you don't have a ticket yet make sure you get one and make it a better atmosphere in The Rock, there will be a lot of Isles fans in the house which will make it fun.

Yes, that is a good thing. think of all of the concessions that the extra people purchased too, get fans in the building and they will come back. I think the January 8 game vs Atlanta will draw well too with the colleg night promo during winter break, and the $20 promo Turn the Clock Back night being offered that night. I know some guys that bought strips of 10 for that game (and took Friday off of work, late night after the game;)

Yeah I was impressed by the size of the crowd tonight (though the building was dead at the start of the game). Too bad there aren't going to be more than four college nights this season, cause tonight was a smash success. At least 2,000 more than you'd normally see in a Thursday game against the Panthers.

It's true. Especially on Fridays. On Fridays, there's no justification of "oh no, I have to go to work tomorrow" (for most people) or "think of the children, they have to go to school!"

They cost themselves business by starting at 7PM because it's less time for people to blow money on food and drinks when they can't make their seats by the time the game starts. Wouldn't be surprised if it cost them STH's too.

It's just another dumb business move in an epic saga of dumb business moves. The only "escape clause" I'll give them on this, is if perhaps their hands are tied and the network demands the time,,,,,,,,, but I doubt it.
