It will probably be Weekes by a slim margin.

While i wish Clemmer was getting the next start it will most likely be Weekes. And Weekes should most likely get more starts as it goes along but it wont be by much.

Funny, because I just got a text from him saying we're in talks with Ron Hextall.

Sad but true. My vote is for Weekes. Until one of them justifies preference over the other give them each a few games in a row to see if one can get into a groove. The first one to step up wins the job until 2 bad games in a row and then back to platoon again.

Why not try Frazee once or twice? Maybe it will inspire him. Give him a taste of where he can go if he works hard and develops.

I say Clemmer should get 2 out of 3 this week. While we lost on Friday that was the best performance out of a goalie we have gotten since Marty went down and he followed it up with a win on saturday.

because with Frazee it's a two way street. 2 bad games and he gets sent back down with his confidence shattered and we all know what happens to him when he loses confidence. Best just to take it slow with Jeff.

But outside of the 3-4 month with the big man down... when will he ever get a chance like this?

He wants to play in the NHL... then give him a taste and have him coming back for more. If his confidence gets shattered, then he wasn't the right guy for the job anyway. We don't need any bi-polar goalies.

With all the **** he had to deal with in Minnesota I just think its best to let him play down in the AHL and gain more experience. He comes up here and has a bad game the fans will be all over him. Atleast down in Lowell no one expects much from him so he can have an off night and just shake it off.

And...? He isn't going to get better if the Devils coddle him. His career in hockey is up to him. He has to decide to step it up, or fizzle out. And now is his best chance ever.

What **** in Minnesota?

Everyone was on his back in Minnesota from day one. People thought he should've went in and ousted starter Kellen Briggs right away and that didn't happen. Any time he had a bad game or gave up a bad goa lthe fans would get on him for it. Now that will happen everywhere but in most places the coach would have your back. Not in Minnesota. The coach was probably his biggest critic. In college sports the coach has got to have his players back but this guy was more concerned with his floundering players and having some of his best players pulled out of the program becasue pro teams know how bad he is with development. (Kyle Okposo ring a bell. The islanders couldn't wait to get him out of that system it just wasn't healthy for growth.) He was so concerned with saving his own ass that he scapegoats his players.

Any way no one backed him up in Minnesota and he because a scapegoat for all the programs struggles especially last season. The kid has talent. He showed that in the World Juniors. So instead of him coming in here as MArty's successor he's now a "reclamation project". I still think he can do well when he does get his chance in due time. If he was with a better program he would've been playing out his final year in college. Just don't rush the kid.

He never had the job as a freshman. Kellen Briggs was the starter and one of Minnesota's better goalies in the programs history. There were high expectations for him when he first entered but things quickly fell apart when the coaches turned against him.

This team is going nowhere without Marty. The injured skaters will give us a marginal improvement when they come back, but this team will still be virtually the same without Marty.

The Devils go as far as Marty Brodeur takes them, and now he's injured. He's out for 4 months, and so are the New Jersey Devils.

It's unfortunate, but that's just the harsh reality.

I'd be shocked if Weekes doesnt play.

Clemmer was given a golden opportunity after Weekes faltered, but he didnt lock it down. So Weekes will have another bite at the apple.
