Very hard to get success because the 89 class is quite poor and there should be lots of underagers in the team. There could be also many players from North American series. I know I might be hanged by some of you but I would leave Toni Rajala out of the team. He just hasn't been as good as earlier. Center is not very deep but the wing are quite talented.

Yeah, Haula in team but no Rajala, why I'm not surprised this is posted by Ässät-fan...

McRae leads the London Knights in scoring now with 12 g, 16 asst's = 28 pts in 20 games. Plus 10. Would look good on the USA Roster.

Rabid, I just read an article earlier today that said the USA team will be announced on Wed. on NHL Network. I don't recall where, but if I do I will post it here.

edit update: here it is, it was in Schlossman's Area Voices blog

"At noon Wednesday, USA Hockey will announce this winter's World Junior Championship squad. It will be televised on the NHL Network and broadcast on XM 204"

No real changes, although I wouldn't be surprised if Warsofsky is named as one of the d-men.

in related news,

Yeah!

"In each of the next three IIHF World Junior Championships, the NHL Network will provide live television coverage of all U.S. games and all games of the medal round - including all quarterfinal and semifinal games, the bronze-medal game and the gold-medal game."

McCollum and Unice to be the goaltenders for the U.S: http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2008/12/mccollum_rangers_unice_to_back.html

I like that they didn't give Smith a free pass as a returnee. Both keepers are playing very well *now* and that's key.

Two solid tenders. Both are more than capable of taking the number 1 spot.

Goaltending should not be an issue for the U.S. this year.

more "sort of" news before the official roster is released tomorrow: "...No Jeremy Morin or Cam Fowler on the Yanks either"

Didn't expect Fowler with the depth of the U.S. defense, but thought Morin would make it as the 13th forward with the ability to move up if he played well.
