hey i would like someone with a lot of knowledge about this tournament to give me a quick review...team strengths, weakenesses, key players, etc...thanks

Its pretty hard to judge this far in advance. Go into the prospect board and do a search for WJC. I know there is a Canada and US thread so far.

The game was a big scandal according to Russian coach Plyuschev. He suggests if Canada wants to host tournaments like that and win all the time they shouldn't invite team Russia, instead they should invite african hockey team. He claims that the refereeing was beyond just biased, it was a blatant case of home cooking officiating to allow Canada to advance out of the round robin. Here is some blog by a guy from Edmonton
