Seems like the most people are willing to pay is $70, since every time $70's or lowers get dropped, they get bought. There are some $70's now if you're looking for them.

$95's and $100's that are available are the same ones from yesterday.

Bad time to be greedy, people have less money today than yesterday and might have much less money by Friday.

There is a $65 ticket promo for $35 for it too.

As for opening night, unless we get a LOT of help from the Isles fans it will not sellout.
Rags play on same night so we won't get the usual dozen or so dolts in Rags jerseys.

1 is the key one. It's getting past the point of where you can even ignore it anymore.

Cheapies are continually getting dumped and bought. Everything $70 and under is moving. Everything over is stagnent. It's just dumb pricing. Basically, the center mezzes and the back 3-4 rows in the $95's will be empty. Everything else will pretty much sell.

I could pull up 22 together but not 24. At least that means there aren't completely unsold rows downstairs???

Thing is Nassau is so bad that bunches of Isle fans might make the trek over and spend $100 just for a ticket. And it's opening night on a Friday night, not a Wednesday in January against a Sun Belt team or Ottawa, economy or not. So I'll say 16,855. If not it will be a sellout or very close to it.

The high ticket prices combined with the crappy economy will definitely hurt sales. Not to mention a lot of Devils fans still have a sour taste in their mouths because of the way last year ended. A loss to the rangers in round one is about as bad as it gets. I would say 14,058 with the Devils announcing 15-16,000

It's not going to be bad as he said (only scattered twosies and foursies $70 and under).... unless the dreaded ticket dump takes place. BTW, the scattereds in the balcony are in ROW 2, so if you ever spend $65 for an overpriced balcony seat, now is the time.

But no way this game sells out, no one is going to buy those $100 and $95's tomorrow, they will go home without tickets, buy scalps, or just not go. Talk about bad timing. The way things are going, Dads are going to look at their 401K, drink 3 bottles of vodka, and cry, not take the kids out to a hockey game.

No, I meant that cheapies were selling well. Expensive tickets aren't moving. I don't think anyone's going to be sitting in the $95 Mezz sections, the $100's are actually fairing better.

I would expect the building to be at or near 100% full in the uppers, balcony, $70 mezz and expensive CI seats downstairs. I would expect the back rows of the lowers behind the nets to be empty, as I would the CI's mezzes. There could be 1,500 seats available or 250, it's really hard to tell.

i think there comes a time when the economy is a real reason for attendance.

no one will doubt that Detroit's economy isn't very good and definitely not what it was 10-15 years ago when they had 17000 STHs.

a lot of people that live in NJ work in NY or work in large businesses that are directly affected by whatever happens on Wall Street. hopefully at some point during this season (sooner rather than later, of course) we see the Dow hit its lowest point. if my minimal market knowledge serves me well here, companies will have to release their 3Q reports soon. the only good thing is everyone already knows their going to be god awful and it wont really be a surprise on the market that's had record drops (points, not %) more than once in the past 3 weeks.

i want there to be a sellout. but realistically a lot of people on the fence have probabl said "TV is a lot better than $15 for the train or park and overpriced food....not to mention the ticket price."

I have to say it DID seem pretty full tonight, but I didnt look around to see where there were gaps. It seemed a lot of clubs were empty (although we know they're sold), but the culprits might have been gorging on "free" cheeseburgers. I'm guessing the $100 ripoff seats were likely all empty.

On TV it looked like there were some decent sized gaps in the lower bowl at the islanders end.

Most of the empties were in the mezz in the defend zone, the $95's and $70's. The
$100's actually looked mostly full.

Some scattered empties behind the nets, and in the clubs (they dumped clubs right before the TM closeout, yeah, those are gonna sell.)

The Devils got what they deserved not having a sellout for Opening Night though.

I vote we play price is right rules the rest of the year to keep it straight. I also vote we keep track of the winners (I nominate Britdevil to keep the stats at the first winner). There will be a trophy given out at the end of the season to the overall winner.

all that happened was people said "what can I save money on this month?" unfortunately, getting to, getting in, and getting served at a Devils game is not cheap.

they still have pricing issues. nothing that is not in the lower level should be anywhere close to $100.

The demand is there for this team, but pricing yourself like you're the Toronto Maple Leafs when you play in suburban New Jersey is the dumbest thing ever.

True, plus a couple of the Philly games are on the weekend so maybe the Devils get lucky with another couple of sellouts, and a couple of Friday Penguin games should be near-sellouts. Fan appreciation night is also on a Saturday to end the season.
