Honestly, I understand sticking with your team, but this hole is supposed to be a serious writer yet she picks the Rangers not only to win the division, not only to win the East but to win the CUP in a year where the general view around the league is that the Rangers will be either hit or miss.
I am surprised she doesnt have Lundqvist winning the Vezina as well....oh wait..
She is the only positive for having the NHL off of ESPN.
Here are my picks for this season.
ATLANTIC: DEVILS
EAST: DEVILS
CUP: DEVILS
VEZINA: BRODEUR
NORRIS: ODUYA
CALDER: VRANA
LADY BYNG: CLARKSON
ADAMS: SUTTER

These are the most realistic picks I've seen so far!

Lets put it this way. ESPN has nothing in the way of analysts so they have 2 achors in Cohn and Buccigross who are their "experts".

I used to like Buccigross, but he became a front-runner Pens fan, and quite frankly, he doesn't know more about hockey than any of us. So why should I read a guy who is just a fan.

She's not an "analyst" but she certainly is a ****. I stopped watching ESPN, and I don't read their ad-filled site or their garbage magazine that's 10 times wider than every other magazine. They became dead to me a long time ago. It's not even sports news anymore, it's just a bunch of fanboys like Cohn and dumbasses like Stephen A. Smith who just blab about nothing without taking any facts or statistics into consideration. Cohn picks the Rangers to win every year because she has a raging hard on for them, that's not news! That would be like your financial adviser telling you to buy a certain stock because he thinks the company's logo looks cool.

In fairness to Mrs. Ed, at least she is consistent. For the Rangers to win the Cup... you would have to expect Lundqvist to be good enough to win the Vezina....

or if Lundqvist is good enough to win the Vezina, than you would figure the Rangers are a good shot at winning the cup.

4 of 5 ESPN "experts" picked the Rangers to win both the Atlantic and the Eastern Conference.

While impossible to prove, I believe that there is "pressure" on the ESPN crew to pick the Rangers to win or to do well to sell magazines. ESPN serves largely a U.S. (domestic) market and they will sell a lot more magazines by picking the Rangers to win than they would picking the Columbus Blue Jackets (i.e. a very small town) to win. I was surprised they picked the Rangers to win the Stanley Cup last year, but this year to have 4 of 5 pick them to win the Atlantic just solidifies my belief that they intentionally pick the Rangers to win.

The Devils' goal totals the past three seasons? 242-216-206. They need to turn that around if they are going to go deep in the playoffs. no but, like another poster said in the main forum(cause i wont steal thoughts) she has ovie winning the hart but tampa winning the division. If she werent a huge ranger fan then i wouldnt really mind but i also think she did it because she doesnt often talk about hockey and her love for the rangers(and mets too so i cant ***** too much) but Hradek and Bucci do talk hockey all the time. granted Bucci never really talks about how great the bruins will be. lets be honest, only Bucci and Hradek are the ones worth really reading

Remember during the lockout, when Buccigross pretty much outlined his idea for a totally new hockey league. I forget exactly what the premise was, but that's when I said buh-bye to ESPN.

Why anyone predicted you guys to be last is beyond me. I think you guys are just posting with bias in the fact that Rangers might win the Division (although I don't think it will happen) Any team that has a Vezina capable goaltender should never be counted out...

And your should concentrate more on the ideas of a post than... font.

There's a lot of vitriol about the woman here, and from what I can tell, it's because she admits to being a Rangers fan. Like Gunnar, I bet half of you are Mets fans too. Are you saying the same thing about her when she wears that allegiance on her sleeve?

Nope, I am a Yankees fan. She is supposed to be a paid professional, when the only one picking the Rangers to run the table is a huge fan of the team, then questions like this get asked.
I am not knocking the Rangers this season, pretty much anyone in this division minus the Isles has a legit shot.

I find it funny that a Rangers fan would come on here and complain that Devils fans are accusing Linda Cohn as being biased for the Rangers when they have (had) a thread saying the exact same thing yesterday. Most of them were disgusted at her bias towards their team.

The issue isn't necessarily with her saying the Rangers would make it to the SC finals, it that her inability to be impartial when making her choice that bothers most here. One could argue one way or another as a sports professional that any certain team making the playoffs could win the SC. But when you are a fan of a team, you'd need to make strong argument that your choice isn't based on your own personal bias. It is especially difficult when none of her colleagues had them winning the East, let alone the SC and only one of them even had them winning the division.

This is a messageboard, we arent really dragging her through the mud, 90% of this thread has been harmless humor at her expense. Its well known that she is a biased fangirl who lets her love of the Rangers trump any type of jouranlistic integrity she has when it comes to the NHL. She can barely get through a story about the Thrashers playing the Kings without mentioning the Rangers. Its kind of upsetting that ESPN cannot find anyone better to talk about the NHL.

If Chico Resch was an analyst for ESPN and picked the Devils to win the ATL, East and Cup, I am pretty sure you guys would have a thread about it.
