Last year that had some stuff outside on the closed off street for the first home game ever at the Rock. They had similar things at the Playoffs.

Some food/drinks that they had inside, plus a lot of childrens games and radio station contest/promotion type things. Not a whole lot really, but a good way to kill an 1/2 an hour to an hour before the game.

I do not know if they are doing it this year.

I kind of hit a perfect storm for the home opener, with the new baby being born and my wife having a cesarean and needing help, plus my 20 year high school reunion being the next night and my best friend coming home for it, I couldn't get out two nights in a row so i am missing my first Devils home opener since 1987. How's parking? I took the train every time last year so I'm thinking about driving for this one.

It depends on where you are coming from. If you are coming from 95, I park in a garage under a triangle shaped office building. Its about a 3 block walk and is the cheapest of any lot around, at least the cheapest and safest I've seen. Its $11 for up to 4 hours, and $18 over. I've only had to pay $18 once, and that time, we got to the arena at about 5:30 and went to the shootout against Buffalo.

You could drive, but if you get off at Broad St station, I'd wait to make sure it's running or not. If not, just take the light rail to Penn Station or 13,27 or 39 to Lafayette Street and show the driver/ticket officer your train ticket or pass.

Last year was insane without Isle fans.. Train was a mad house and the conductors just gave up or trying to collect the tickets

Seriously? No wonder the shuttle bus wasn't there for the last preseason game, aargh! :shakehead It would have been nice if some kind of announcement was made, maybe I wouldn't have lost a half hour last Friday.

So the train pass will work for the light rail, okay at least I don't have to pay any extra for the ride in. For the ride back I'll probably have to take the city bus to get back in time for the 9:59 train. I don't mind paying the $1.35 except it's going to be a pain in the butt to have exact change every single time.

The monthly train pass works for the bus. As long as the pass has a zone number on it. The flash pass should work too but check the Devs' site anyway.

I don't have either...does a regular roundtrip train ticket work for the bus or light rail?
