Having recently moved away from socal to Wisconsin. I am wondering how other displaced fans have kepts up with Ducks?

I am tracking blogs a bit more and I have ordered Directv's NHL center ice...(although I have to fight the time zones battle)..

Any other advice? Just wondering..

For news, read the Register and Times online. They're free (you may have to register a free username). For breaking news, try tsn and Dan Wood's blog at the Register.

You can listen to the free webradio broadcasts. Center ice obviously helps a lot, I never had it. There's also free webcasts sometimes, but the quality is low.

After the home games, you can watch the duckstv replays on the official website. You can also get video highlights from tsn and maybe espn. Pics from yahoo or the Ducks website.

You can read here and other message boards too. Allducks and the official site are available.

Your time zone battle is nothing. I spent 5 years in Baltimore. That time difference sucks.

I know the feeling. Have to stay up till 1 AM just to catch all of the game. The above post pretty much covers all the bases. If you work late or just can't get to a TV, you can always follow along on here. That's what I do when I'm at school.

I live in the country where a lot of the people do not even consider the Anaheim Ducks as a real hockey team.

I win.

Thanks for the thoughts. I am going to miss my trips to the Pond! But I'm excited for the season to begin. I can't believe that preseason games aren't televised.

Go Ducks!

TIVO or DVR is the answer to deal with the time zone problem.

Beating the Canucks and Sens in the playoffs on the way to the Cup was more than real enough for me.

How much is Center Ice? And does digital cable carry it (Comcast to be exact). I live in the Bay Area now and it doesn't seem like there is Center Ice online anymore.

I went from that same country, tolerating cackles from oilers/flames/canucks/leafs/habs/sens fans at the very mention of my favorite team, to a region that barely recognizes hockey as a sport. The ones that do are displaced Canadians and North Easterners, and most of them don't consider the Ducks a real team either.

Plus, I have to deal with the Eastern time zone difference obobo is talking about.

F em all, redneck tebow/bowden/gator/dawg/noles/nascar baters. I win.

Ha at least a few people consider them a team. Here in Oklahoma everything is ****ing college football. I mean it's ok, but god it's everything here. Anytime I mention hockey to someone here, the most common response is "I love the fights." Trust me, I win. Although that's not a good thing.

As far as the original question: Honestly I think the best source of info has been this website. News seems to pop up here right away. I recomend getting center ice, but I don't have it so I'm always on the look out for yahoo webcasts (quality sucks) and I usually listen to every game on NHL.com

I live in Corona, about 30 minutes from Anaheim. Do I win? :)

OT: Do you have to donate to the site to get your picture to show up?

According to Comcast's site it is $159 (don't recall how much I pay) , but it picks up pretty much every Ducks game that is broadcast with exception to local blackouts. It also picks up any other (aka: non-Ducks) game you want to watch.

Thanks. I just found the online stream too... I'm probably going to go for that since I can watch 4 games at a time and my tv is hooked up to my computer anyways. I'm pretty sure if the Sharks are considered local for the blackout, I will get the game broadcast on cable (only care when the Ducks play them).

I believe you have to be a member for so long... Not 100% sure though. Nothing payment related though.

You can get an avatar, you've been here long enough. It's somewhere in "user CP"

It's a good time. Especially when EVERYONE in town hates Pronger, what makes it even better when I say well.. if it wasn't for Pronger you guys wouldn't have made the playoffs let alone Cup finals

Living in Atlanta, the late-night West Coast games can be murder the next day, but I haven't stopped following them.

i live in a country where most people havent seen ice larger than ice cubes, if at all. haiti lol. and sadly the internet here has monthly bandwidth limits so i wont be getting to stream any games this season.

just use sopcast, free streaming. good quality. free. something like forums.myp2p.com for the channel listings each day.

Halifax isn't exactly hostile territory (a lot of people here still root for guys like Giguere and DiPenta when he played for the Ducks), but it's not exactly Duck country either. The killer part, however, is the 4 hour time difference is what kills me... getting up at 7am when the games only start at 11-11:30pm the night before can be a struggle. =\

It starts tonight. I've been sleeping before 10:30 on non-weekend nights of late, to get up at 5:30. It'll be interesting how I am tomorrow after watching tonight's game with a few rums.
