Nope. The only Devils games that were going to be on air this preseason were the ones against the Rags.

I, for one, am not shocked at all that we aren't getting any preseason coverage. I'm still pissed about it.

We should start a petition and send it to MSG...

what gets more advertising revenue: 1hr preview or 2.5 hr game?

maybe we need to send a snail-mail letter to Lou (i hear he prefers these) telling them to air more preseason games.

its insulting to air a season preview in place of an actual game, IMO.

Great, Ranger Al and The Maven predicting doom and gloom for the Devils, no doubt ripping our attendance problems, and turning everything into a discussions about the Rangers.

We really need to get away from that network. Ink a deal with SNY or hell even the YES Network, I don't care, just something that's not owned and operated by that POS Dolan.

I'll probably watch it. It better not have Al, John or any of those losers, though.

I've been googling for the past 10 minutes trying to find out how much fsny/msg pays the devils each year. All i found is that the contract is good until 2023-24. I thought I read somewhere that it was $20 mil. Can anyone answer this?

I found an article the day they settled in 2004 and it said it was significantly more than the 8 million. I'm just curious to see how much msg pays them.

I remember hearing that they got an offer to be on Sny but then Dolan blew them out of the water.

I researched this awhile back... it's a very long contract worth $100M.

This is true. JVBk played the upstart SNY against MSG and started a bidding war.

I thought the show was pretty good. I just wish they would make more devils shows, but there arent any devils fans so why even bother. :sarcasm: :shakehead

It was mentione din one of the articles in the Star Ledger about the Rock opening. There ended up being a bidding war between SNY and MSG for the rights. If I remember correctly the deal is 20 years at 500 million total. That would work out to be 25 million per year. That would be over 3 times the 8 million that the team got previously. I would consider that significantly more.

Did anyone else get the vibe when Lou was talking with Cangolosi that Lou was thinking "ugh, Rangers fan."?
The looks he was giving him were hysterical.

I liked the Holik interview. He should go into politics when he's done. Very diplomatic.

The guy is obviously intelligent but he strings together words like Corky from Life Goes On.

I'm not sure of the $500M number but I remember it was very, very high and Vanderbeek mentioned it as one of the reasons we were able to build the rock. It would have been great to go to SNY, but if I had to choose MSG+ and the rock or SNY and CAA, I think I can at least try to stand Trautwig a little more. Plus, we would have had second billing on SNY as well, most likely behind the Nets, with no chance of overflow onto an HD station like MSG.

I can listen to Holik all day. He's an absolute thrill to listen to. From that voice to the stuff he's going to say, it's by far the most anticipated thing I've been waiting for this offseason.
